Chapter 162: The Blood Tears of the Faith of the Seven (VII)
Chapter 162: Chapter 161 – The Blood Tears of the Faith of the Seven (VII)
At that moment, the crowd was in complete frenzy. Maekar looked at the scene before him calmly. There was only one way to stop a riot, and that way was to make these people feel fear once again. Only when humans are afraid do they hesitate to do something.
Maekar had broken the people’s fear of the Faith of the Seven, and now he had to instill an even greater fear in these people. As for feeling sorry for them, he felt none at all.
Around thirty years from now, these very people would invade the Dragonpit and kill House Targaryen’s dragons. He held no mercy at all for these people; he merely treated them as they deserved to be treated.
As Maekar thought this, an enormous shadow covered the sky, followed by sharp, terrifying roars. Looking up, the prince saw the sky blue scales and the gigantic, imposing wings.
Dreamfyre landed on the ground and roared furiously at the crowd. This dragon had never had a gentle or easy temperament; she was cruel and tyrannical. Seeing the ants before her, the dragon opened her mouth and, deep in her throat, a blue glow began to shine. It was a sign that dragonfire was about to be unleashed.
“Likiri, Dreamfyre.”
Wearing red riding clothes, Gael held the reins and spoke in a calm tone. The sky blue dragon calmed at her rider’s words but still looked coldly at the crowd of insects before her.
Because of the long time spent confined in the Dragonpit, Dreamfyre, who was older than most of House Targaryen’s dragons, was only slightly larger than Caraxes. Even so, she was still a monster sixty meters in length.
Before a beast of this size, the people calmed quickly. Especially upon seeing the dragon’s cruel eyes, eyes that promised violence and death.
Gael looked at the people, or rather, at the victims within the enraged crowd. There had been many deaths from trampling, especially among women and even children. The princess caught sight of a skinny boy, no more than ten years old, who, at that moment, wore an expression of pain as he held his broken arm.
Letting out a sigh, she looked at the crowd and spoke loudly. “STOP MARCHING AND CALM YOURSELVES. SHOULD YOU NOT CALM DOWN, I PROMISE YOUR FATE WILL NOT BE KIND.”
To prove Gael’s words, Dreamfyre opened her mouth, and cobalt blue flames burst forth toward the sky. Even so, though they were not the target of the flames, the terrible heat of the fire, capable of reducing a person to ashes, struck the people at the front of the crowd.
The crowd recoiled, frightened by the flames; some even fainted from fear. The people of King’s Landing were used to dragons, but only seeing them from afar; besides being the first time seeing a dragon up close, it was the first time they saw a dragon’s true power.
At that moment, there was both dread and reverence in these people’s minds. Fear of the dragons’ power and reverence toward House Targaryen for taming such beasts. At the same time, they felt pride in being subjects of House Targaryen.
Suddenly, before the people’s shocked eyes, the one they considered a goddess descended from the enormous dragon. Gael’s otherworldly beauty captivated the people. Then, they grew even more shocked when the goddess actually knelt beside a filthy boy and helped him.
To say they were shocked would be an understatement. Gael looked like the Maiden herself, sacred, noble, and pure, descended from her golden temple among the clouds to help them, mere mortals.
Yet an even more shocking thing unfolded before them; they saw the boy’s broken arm simply return to normal in mere instants.
Gael, feeling the blood magic’s cost as she healed the child, could not help but think her blood was truly potent. Yes, Gael used her own blood as payment for the spell, but surprisingly, the cost was far lower than she had expected.
In the scrolls of the Red Faith, there were detailed records regarding healing through blood magic. Usually a ritual and a sacrifice were required to heal someone. No mage or witch dared use their own blood as the price.
But Gael had dared, and the price was far lower than expected.
Could it be because I am a Targaryen, and dragon blood runs in my veins? That was the only explanation Gael could come up with at that moment. There was no explanation for what was happening within her.
Setting the thoughts aside, Gael looked at the boy’s healed arm and felt a sense of fulfillment.
“Are you a goddess?” The boy, whose expression of pain had vanished, could not help but ask, looking at Gael. In his mind, there was no other being so beautiful and capable of healing someone.
Gael was not surprised by the boy’s words. She touched his hair and spoke in a gentle tone. “No, I am a saint. In the name of the gods, I can perform miracles.”
Honestly, Gael did not feel as troubled lying as she truly expected to. Perhaps it was because of the plan for revenge, but she did not even blink as she lied so brazenly. It came as naturally as breathing.
The young boy did not understand what a saint truly was or what she represented, but he only knew she was more important and sacred than the High Septon, who had wanted to cover up the septons’ crimes and hide everything.
“Thank you, Saint.” The boy thanked her while touching Gael’s clothing with his fingertips; he did not dare touch her elsewhere with his dirty hands and only used his fingertips.
“Rise, and help me heal whoever needs help.” Gael only smiled and stood up, helping the boy to his feet as well.
The boy felt as though he had been injected with adrenaline, growing so excited and honored that he quickly helped Gael find the next person in need, an old man.
The more Gael healed, the more the people gathered around her. Everyone reached out to touch her body and her clothes, as if wishing to be blessed merely by the touch of the garments of someone so sacred and noble.
Maekar calmly watched Gael gradually become the center of the crowd. Uneducated people were simple; whatever they did not understand, they simply assumed was a phenomenon of the gods.
At the same time, he saw the power of ignorance. For a feudal monarchy, keeping one’s subjects in ignorance was the best option. When people gain knowledge, they grow clever and often cause trouble.
At that moment, Maekar was undecided whether he wanted to break the monopoly on knowledge and spread it to the people.
Maekar had confidence in his ability to control the kingdom even after breaking the monopoly on knowledge, but what of his children? His grandchildren and great-grandchildren? Would they manage to control a population growing ever more aware of its own power and rights?
This was a great problem in Maekar’s eyes. If his descendants turned out to be more radical, the repression against the people would not be peaceful, but entire massacres would occur. So, Maekar remained undecided regarding breaking the monopoly on knowledge.
For now, however, Maekar planned to leave things as they were. Perhaps, when he felt the time was right, he would slowly begin to break the monopoly that had controlled this world for over ten thousand years.
Looking at Gael, his wife, being worshiped by the people, a satisfied smile appeared on Maekar’s lips. Joan of Arc had taken her first steps; now he only needed to spread rumors and perhaps even a pilgrimage.
Of course, that would come after the Great Council, which would take place tomorrow.
At this moment, Maekar wanted only for Gael’s reputation to spread through the city. Should Viserys win, Maekar could usurp the throne without worrying about the populace.
After all, being Gael’s husband, it was the will of the gods that Maekar be king.
Turning his attention back to the headless bodies of the dead septons, Maekar noticed bloody tears on the decapitated heads.
Bloody Tears of the Faith of the Seven.

Inside the Red Keep, Maekar and Gael’s chambers.
At that moment, Maekar and Gael could be seen in bed together. Gael was riding Maekar as if there were no tomorrow. Each time she descended, the loud sound of flesh meeting flesh reverberated through the room. Her beautiful buttocks rippled as they collided with her husband’s body.
With her sweaty body glistening in the torchlight, Gael breathed heavily while placing her hand on Maekar’s chest; her medium-sized breasts swayed gently to the princess’s strong movements.
“Maekar~” A moan escaped Gael’s lips as she collided forcefully, sending a pleasant and electrifying sensation spreading through her body. Looking down at her husband beneath her, she almost pleaded. “I want your seed~”
Maekar, his face full of comfort, nodded and gripped Gael’s waist firmly. He began to move his hips with force and speed. Glistening sweat fell upon him while an expression of struggle flashed across his face as he tried not to reach a climax, clearly teasing Gael.
Gael noticed this and wore an adorable look of anger, but the response to her expression was Maekar’s relentless thrusting as he penetrated her firmly. Suddenly, Gael felt her climax approaching and began to let out adorable moans as her breathing grew louder and louder.
“You big, mean husband~” Gael spoke in a panting tone, looking at Maekar with a hungry and lovely gaze.
Suddenly, Gael arched her body, her toes curling as a louder, sharper moan escaped her lips. Her body shuddered as a warm liquid fell upon Maekar. In the next moment, Gael followed, collapsing onto his body, strengthless.
However, while she had reached her climax, Maekar had not; he wore a malicious smile and, while Gael still experienced the lingering effects of her own climax, he flipped her over and pressed her down with his body as he returned to penetrating her warm, wet walls.
Having just reached her climax, Maekar felt Gael’s slick walls tighten like never before. Every time he pulled out, it felt as if she didn’t want him to leave.
Gael moaned even more; she looked at Maekar with a hazy gaze, wrapped her legs around his waist, and whispered, “Harder.”
Maekar complied with the request and thrust his hips even harder; the sound echoed through the room as he continued relentlessly.
Claiming Gael’s lips in an intense kiss, Maekar continued to penetrate his wife. His hands slid over her breasts, squeezing and shaping them as he pleased. He pinched her lovely pink cherries, making Gael let out a muffled moan.
“I’m coming, Gael.” Feeling that he was reaching his limit, Maekar said with an expression of effort.
“Give me everything~” Gael said as her body trembled with every thrust.
Maekar accelerated his movements and, with a powerful surge, reached his climax, pouring his seed inside Gael without a second thought. Though he had little choice, as Gael’s legs wrapped around him prevented him from pulling away.
Letting out a satisfied sigh, Maekar did not move from atop Gael, pressing against her as he kissed her gently, savoring the feeling of pleasure upon reaching his climax.
After a while, Maekar withdrew from inside Gael and lay down beside her. The princess crawled toward him and snuggled into his arms. She didn’t mind the sweat and rested her head on his chest, listening to the powerful beat of his heart.
“Maekar, I think I’m pregnant again.” Gael lifted her head and spoke in a soft tone while touching just above her garden, feeling her husband’s warm seed inside her.
Maekar was surprised for a moment, but remembering how many times he and Gael had had sex, he wasn’t too surprised. Both were fertile and young; combined with the frequency of their intimacy, it was normal for Gael to be pregnant again.
However, Maekar was still concerned about the condition of Gael’s body. After all, Gael had lost a child only months ago.
“How is your body?” Maekar asked in a worried tone. Compared to a child that wasn’t even a fetus yet, he was more concerned about Gael.
“It’s all right; I feel more alive than ever.” Gael looked at Maekar and spoke in a sweet tone. Honestly, she felt like the happiest woman in the world for having married Maekar.
Any other man would have been terrified to see the appearance of their deformed child with dragon-like features. However, Maekar hadn’t cared; he had supported and loved her just the same. Even now, he didn’t care about the child like other lords would; he was worried about her safety instead.
Although Maekar was not perfect, often being cold, indifferent, and manipulative, in her eyes there was no better man in the world.
“Do you think it will be a boy or a girl?” Gael kissed Maekar’s sweaty chest and asked in a gentle tone.
Maekar couldn’t help but remember his dream, in which he was flying alongside two children on their respective dragons. However, he didn’t know if that was from the near or distant future. Especially given what had happened to his first child.
“It will be good if it’s a girl; I think I’ll spoil her a lot,” Maekar said with a laugh. He could imagine himself pampering his daughter.
“It has to be a boy.” Gael, however, wanted a boy. Maekar was about to be king; a king needed an heir. This had proven even truer during the reigns of Maegor I and Jaehaerys I. In the end, both were left without heirs.
Gael was determined to make sure Maekar never went through that kind of dilemma in his life. She would give her husband countless sons and daughters. Before, she hadn’t been confident, but now, with blood magic, she was confident she would be even better than her mother, who was known as Good Queen Alysanne.
Maekar didn’t argue, though he felt a boy was also essential. However, he was in no hurry; he was fourteen, nearly fifteen. There was still plenty of time to resolve that kind of problem.
“Maekar, what do you think our enemies are doing now?” Gael asked, remembering the chaos of the previous day. Even with her help, nearly five hundred people had died in just a few minutes. If she hadn’t arrived riding Dreamfyre, the death toll would have risen to thousands or even more.
Gael never doubted for a moment that things would have spiraled out of control had they remained in that chaos. Enemies would have seized the situation to kill, thieves to steal, rapists to rape, and assassins to murder.
Even now, the City Watch was still struggling to maintain order in the city. The four thousand members of the City Watch had proven somewhat useless against so many people. Gael even considered increasing the number of city guards to ten thousand in the future.
“He’s likely looking at the little religious group he created and probably gathering a group of fanatical militiamen,” Maekar said in a casual tone. The reason he wasn’t worried was that he had a giant dragon.
The High Septon could gather ten thousand or a hundred thousand people; he didn’t care; he would burn them all without any hesitation.
“However, do you know the problem with creating a group of fanatics, Gael?” Maekar looked at his naked wife and asked with a malicious smile.
“Hard to control?” Gael replied with a touch of uncertainty.
“Yes, fanatics are extremely difficult to control. They only care about faith and the precepts of the gods. They don’t care about your status or even honor. As long as you are identified as a heretic, they might even kill a king,” Maekar said with a laugh.
After seeing the High Septon’s intelligence, Maekar had no doubt that the man would fail miserably in controlling such fanatics. It was like a rabbit trying to control a starving lion. It was simply impossible.
Gael didn’t delve further into the matter of the High Septon; the man would die in the most humiliating way possible. Of that, she and Maekar would make sure. Tarnishing the reputation of the Faith of the Seven was just the first step. After that, it was about spreading influence and making rumors sweep across the entire continent.
“Today, we will be chosen as king and queen,” Gael said in a dreamy, soft tone. She never thought she could be queen, but here she was; in a few hours, the Great Council would take place, and the future King of the Seven Kingdoms would be chosen.
“Queen Gael… I think I like the name,” Gael said with a gentle laugh.
Maekar just kissed Gael’s forehead and replied in an equally soft tone, “I like it too.”
