House of The Dragon:The Rise of the Emperor of the Seven Kingdoms

Chapter 138: Revenge (II)

Chapter 138: Chapter 137 – Revenge (II)

The Westerlands, Golden Field, the new home of House Strong.

Since it was still a new fief, there was only a wooden manor being built on the site. However, not far off, construction of the new stone castle had already begun. Fortunately, there was no shortage of stone, so the cost of the castle wasn’t as great as in other regions, and it would also save a lot of time.

Dreamfyre landed not far from either construction site. The dragon was large, measuring sixty meters in length, not counting the tail. He had a menacing crown of spikes, though the elegant appearance and beauty of his scales gave him the look of a noble queen of the skies.

Gael dismounted from the saddle and removed her gloves. She looked at the retinue approaching her and recognized one of her husband’s friends. Harwin Strong, heir to the future Golden Field and currently the one managing the entire fief in place of his father, Lord Lyonel Strong.

“Lord Harwin.” Gael greeted the man with a cold expression, something rare, but she had no reason to appear kind and welcoming.

Harwin, already knowing what had happened, showed no surprise at the princess’s cold reaction. If anything had shown on his face, it wouldn’t have been indifference but fury.

“She’s in a tent away from prying eyes, guarded by ten of my men.” Harwin was direct in his words and pointed east, where a tent could faintly be seen.

Gael’s lilac eyes traced the distant tent. Without saying anything, she put her gloves back on and climbed onto Dreamfyre. The dragon soon flew toward the tent, away from the manor and castle constructions of House Strong.

Harwin did not follow behind the princess; he didn’t want to hear what would happen in that tent. He had heard from Maekar that a woman’s fury could be more frightening than anything else. The Strong Hheir certainly had no wish to prove such a thing.

When Dreamfyre landed again, a few meters from the tent, Gael quickly dismounted and walked toward the tent. She ignored the House Strong guards and entered the tent.

The foul stench of urine and feces hung in the air, but Gael didn’t care about any of that. She looked at the woman bound by chains, her arms forced upward, with a cold gaze.

Unlike the witch she had expected, the woman before her had long, disheveled black hair and green eyes. She was surprisingly beautiful, with a heart-shaped face and a high nose. She wore a noble dress, probably to pass herself off as a noblewoman and flee through Lannisport.

Gael had imagined this scene countless times in her mind, but when the moment came, she felt only a calm that surprised her. Approaching the woman, the princess reached out her hand and yanked the woman’s hair hard, forcing her to look up.

“I think you know who I am,” Gael said, looking into the witch’s green eyes.

“Certainly, Your Grace.” Looking at the beautiful woman before her, Jeyne answered in a weak, hoarse tone, as if she hadn’t had anything to drink in some time.

“Do you know what I’m going to do to you?” Gael asked again; her eyes traced the woman’s lovely face with a malicious look. Perhaps Gael herself had never thought she’d wear an expression like that.

“Torture me?” Jayne answered with a smile on her lips.

“Torture you?” Gael seemed to have heard something very funny. With her nails, she gripped the woman’s face hard and spoke in a chilling tone. “I’m going to make you beg to be tortured.”

“My husband taught me there’s psychological torture and physical torture. One affects your mind and the other your body,” Gael said with a smile. “But before that, we’re going to Harrenhal, where you will never leave alive. Don’t think you’ll die, because I’ll die of old age before you do.”

Jayne looked at Gael, who showed nothing but fury and rage, and spoke in a hoarse tone. “You know I had no choice; they would have killed me if I refused.”

“No.” Yanking Jayne’s hair hard, Gael spoke in a cold tone. “You had a choice, but you put me through the worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life. I wanted to die when I saw him coming out of me lifeless.”

Jayne felt fear, or rather, terror. She trembled before Gael’s gaze, but, thinking of something, she laughed.

“What are you laughing at?” Gael asked furiously, making the skin of Jayne’s face bleed with her nails.

“You’ll understand, princess.” Jayne spat in Gael’s face and spoke with a wild smile. Although what she meant by those words was a huge lie, it cost nothing to terrify the princess before her.

Gael wiped the spit from her face and looked coldly at the witch.

“Guards!” Gael spoke loudly, and in the next moment, three guards entered the tent. All three had their swords drawn.

“Take the prisoner to Lord Harwin; the prisoner is to be transferred to Harrenhal.” Gael said in a cold tone. Only once she was in Harrenhal would Gael be able to toy with Jayne’s mind and body however she pleased.

The guards exchanged glances and nodded. With the help of the three of them, Jayne was carried to House Strong’s manor under construction and placed in an iron cage pulled by horses.

Harwin was kind enough to make fifty soldiers available to escort the prisoner to Harrenhal, something Gael sincerely thanked him for.

“I wish you would find peace of mind, princess.” Harwin watched the princess mount the dragon and spoke aloud, trying at least to comfort a bit a mother suffering from the pain of a lost child.

Gael stopped what she was doing and looked at Harwin with a calm gaze. “You’re a good man, Harwin. I wish you would never go through something like this.”

Harwin showed a helpless smile and merely nodded. He truly didn’t want to go through the same thing.

The retinue of fifty men set off with the cage being pulled by two strong horses. The dragon followed behind, flying in the sky.

In the cage, Jayne knelt on the cold floor of the cage while her body was bound by large iron chains. There was absolutely no chance of her escaping. Behind her hair, the woman’s green eyes watched the soldiers around her with a calculating look.

Knowing the way to Harrenhal, Jayne knew she’d have a perfect opportunity to escape once they reached the forest. The dragon wouldn’t be able to see anything or even enter the forest.

“My dear friends.” When Jayne spoke, it was as if all the attention of every man present focused on her.

“I’ve been wronged; the princess mistook me for another woman with my features.”

“Do I look like a witch?”

Jayne spoke, her voice full of sorrow and lament. It seemed as though she had lost her husband in the war, a voice so sad that some of the men looked at her with pity.

“I know the princess is kind and honorable; she must understand that her judgment may have been a mistake.” One of the soldiers, no more than fifteen years old, spoke in a righteous tone upon seeing the beautiful woman look at him with a hopeful expression.

“Boy, I advise you to control your cock or you’ll be given as dragon food.” The oldest soldier present, a middle aged man named Horn, spoke in a calm tone. He looked at the new recruit with a cold, piercing gaze.

“That bitch killed four of our comrades. She slit a throat with a hairpin and poisoned the other three, who died agonizing until their last moment.” Horn approached the cage and opened it, but only to deliver an extremely hard punch to Jayne’s face.

“Shut your mouth or I’ll rip out your tongue, you filthy witch.” Horn spoke in a cold tone full of disgust.

Jayne spat blood mixed with a few teeth as she felt a sharp pain in her nose and mouth. She looked at the man maliciously but remained silent.

“I have a potion that can increase the size of your manhood. Not just increase it, but give you endless vigor. There won’t be a woman who won’t surrender to your arms with that. I only ask that you let me escape; you can say you were attacked.” Jayne said, her tone still full of sorrow and grief.

Her words made all the men look at the witch with surprised expressions. It would be a lie to say they weren’t tempted. After all, what man didn’t want a big cock and endless vigor?

Some of the men even looked at the witch differently. They had never expected magic could be so magical.

Horn furrowed his brow and didn’t believe the witch’s words for a second.

“Didn’t you say you weren’t a witch? Now you know how to make magic potions that enlarge cocks?” Horn said in a tone full of sarcasm.

“Remember, the ground you’re standing on belongs to House Targaryen. If you help an enemy of House Targaryen, you and your families are dead. No one will be able to protect you.” Horn looked at his men, who were tempted by the witch’s words, and spoke in a cold, indifferent tone.

“Besides, only a fool would drink something so suspicious. Aren’t you afraid of death?” Horn added with a touch of irony and sarcasm, looking at the faces of his brothers in arms. He decided that, once he returned, he would report the men who had been tempted by the witch.

Seeing that using her looks and playing on the men’s egos hadn’t worked, Jayne’s face darkened. Use magic? Magic wasn’t what these fools thought it was. It required a ritual to happen, not to mention the price for killing fifty men before her.

Magic exacts a price, especially powerful magic.

She didn’t dare risk it, or she would truly die because of the price for killing or immobilizing so many people. If she were that powerful, she’d already be in Essos, far away from Westeros.

“If I escape, you’ll be the first one I kill.” Jayne said, looking at Horn with a gaze full of malice and hatred. She felt she might have convinced some of these men and sparked internal conflict in an attempt to escape.

“I don’t know what you did, but there’s no chance you’re getting out of this alive, you damn witch.” Horn merely scoffed at the witch’s threats.

If the witch were powerful enough to escape, she would have escaped long ago.

This has become a big problem, especially since Patreon is located on another continent. It’s confusing and bureaucratic. Fortunately, I’ve already hired someone to handle this for me.
