My Farming Domain Is Broken

Chapter 27. 2nd Conquest (6/6)- The end of the Hobgoblin (2)

The last Warrior ran toward the Captain, but One seemed to hold enough of a grudge against them as it fired into the goblin’s back.

Carlos took a few steps forward and drove the glaive through its body.

[Goblin Warrior eliminated]

All eight Warriors were dead.

The Captain reached Carlos and grabbed the glaive’s shaft.

They both pulled.

Unfortunately, the Hobgoblin was stronger.

Carlos released the weapon without warning.

The Captain stumbled backward with its own glaive.

Carlos summoned a Goblin Short Spear from his inventory and thrust it beneath the Hobgoblin’s exposed arm.

The stone tip broke against the iron armour.

The Captain smiled.

Carlos left the broken spearhead inside the armour joint and summoned another spear.

He struck the same place.

The loose goblin spearhead entered a little deeper.

The Captain swung its glaive.

Carlos ducked and summoned a third Short Spear.

He drove it into the same wound with all his strength.

The Captain roared in pain this time.

--

Hobgoblin Captain HP: 421/650

--

It was still far from dead.

The Dire Wolf suddenly attacked Carlos from the side, shocking him for a moment.

Fighting the Hobgoblin had made him forget about the wolf.

But at that very moment, One came from behind without receiving an order and intercepted it.

The slime threw its entire body against the wolf’s injured shoulder.

Its watery body hardened on impact, and both of them rolled away instead of reaching Carlos.

The Beastmaster’s whip moved for the first time.

It passed through One’s watery body and struck its core.

CRACK!

--

One’s HP: 21/110

Core Status: Cracked

--

Carlos’s vision sharpened at the sight.

He stopped fighting the Captain immediately, as if his body had begun moving on its own.

The Hobgoblin swung at his back.

Carlos accepted the hit.

The glaive cut through the remains of his vest and opened his shoulder.

--

HP: 62/360

--

He kept running.

The Beastmaster pulled its whip back for another strike.

Carlos threw the Goblin Short Spear in his hand.

The Beastmaster moved its head at the right moment, and the spear passed beside it.

Carlos summoned another captured spear and threw it again.

The Beastmaster blocked it with its whip, but Carlos was already in front of it.

He grabbed the black whip with one hand and pulled.

The smaller goblin flew toward him.

With anger burning in his eyes, Carlos punched it in the face.

The Beastmaster flew backward and struck its head against the ground.

The Dire Wolf turned away from One and rushed to protect its master.

Carlos wrapped the whip around his forearm. Trying to properly use it now would have been stupid when he did not know any deadly techniques.

When the wolf leaped, Carlos moved aside and grabbed the Barbed Javelin still buried in its shoulder.

He pulled it out.

The barbs tore through flesh, while the spikes dug into Carlos’s hands as well.

[Dire Wolf HP: 102/420]

Carlos drove the bloody javelin into its chest without waiting, as if every second mattered.

The wolf whimpered several times before finally going limp.

[Dire Wolf eliminated]

The Beastmaster screamed and reached for its whip, but Carlos kicked it back onto the ground with rage burning in his eyes.

He drove the Barbed Javelin through its chest as well.

The small goblin could only stare at the monster standing above it before its body went still.

[Goblin Beastmaster eliminated]

One final whistle escaped from the goblin before it died.

The Hobgoblin Captain stopped.

Its eyes moved from the dead Beastmaster to Carlos.

Then it roared.

[Hobgoblin Captain has entered an Enraged state]

[Strength increased by 20%]

[Defence reduced by 20%]

Carlos looked at his health.

--

HP: 62/360

--

The Captain still had more than four hundred.

Carlos drank a Minor Recovery Potion and grabbed the Barbed Javelin with both hands.

The Captain charged.

Carlos did not back away.

The glaive came down, and Carlos moved to the side.

The blade still cut across his ribs, finally making him wince in pain.

--

HP: 48/360

--

The potion fought against the damage and began pushing his health back upward.

Carlos entered the Captain’s reach.

He drove the Barbed Javelin into the opening beneath its arm.

The weapon pushed the broken Goblin Spearheads deeper into the wound.

[Hobgoblin Captain HP: 302/650]

The Captain struck Carlos with its elbow, trying to force him away.

Carlos’s vision turned white, but he did not release the javelin.

The Hobgoblin lifted him by the throat again.

With anger burning in his eyes, Carlos pulled the javelin sideways.

The barbs tore through the Captain’s armour joint.

[Hobgoblin Captain HP: 233/650]

The Captain threw him away as if he were a pest.

Carlos rolled across the dirt and stopped beside One.

The slime could barely hold its body together.

Carlos pressed the final Troop Recovery Potion against its cracked core.

"Drink."

One absorbed it.

--

One’s HP: 51/110

Core Status: Damaged

--

The potion restored its health, but it could not completely repair the crack.

The Captain moved closer, and Carlos tried to stand.

But his injured leg gave out.

The Hobgoblin lifted its glaive to deliver the final strike.

Through all of that, One moved its weak body in front of Carlos to protect him.

"N-No."

The slime remained there.

The Captain swung without hesitation.

Carlos grabbed One and threw it aside at the last possible moment.

The Captain was slower now, so Carlos raised the Barbed Javelin horizontally in a desperate attempt to block the strike.

He was not ready to die.

His wounds could heal with potions.

His life could not.

The glaive struck the javelin.

Both weapons were knocked from their hands.

The Captain was surprisingly just as exhausted as Carlos.

In the end, it had become a contest of willpower.

Carlos and the Captain stared at each other.

Then both attacked with their fists.

The Hobgoblin struck first.

Carlos felt one of his ribs crack.

--

HP: 29/360

--

[Tenacious Body activated]

His strength stopped decreasing.

Carlos punched the Captain’s wounded side.

The Hobgoblin stepped backward in surprise.

That strike had carried far more strength than it expected.

Carlos did not wait.

He hit the same place again.

And again.

The Captain grabbed Carlos’s injured shoulder, making him scream in pain, but he continued punching.

One fired a Water Shot from the ground.

The water struck the Barbed Javelin instead of the Captain.

The weapon rolled across the dirt and stopped beside Carlos’s foot.

Carlos kicked it upward and caught it.

The Captain did not wait for him to attack.

It tried to kill Carlos with every movement, but he refused to fall.

The Hobgoblin grabbed his wrist.

Carlos held the javelin with both hands.

The Captain pushed back.

For several seconds, the point remained suspended between them.

Carlos’s arms trembled again and again.

The Captain’s wounded side continued bleeding.

"I did not survive sixty slimes... to lose to you."

Carlos pushed forward with everything he had.

The javelin entered the Captain’s throat.

The Hobgoblin’s grip tightened for a final moment.

But Carlos already knew it was over.

He kept pushing until the metal point emerged from the other side.

[Hobgoblin Captain eliminated]

[Final wave completed]

[Conquest Level 2 completed on Hell difficulty]
