89. The Next Stage of Technology
Night once again enveloped Rangga’s private island.
After storing all the resources he had gathered from Stone Island in the warehouse, he immediately walked toward his production table. He stopped right in front of the system panel floating above the workbench.
Rangga immediately opened the upgrade menu.
Production Bench Lv.4
Required Materials:
200 Wood
120 Hardwood
200 Stone
20 Natural Rubber
50 Iron Ingot
30 Copper Ingot
30 Steel Ingot
30 Brass Ingot
Rangga read through the entire list once more. Then the corner of his mouth lifted.
“Got all of it.”
Without hesitation, he closed the panel and walked toward the Furnace nearby.
The fire inside the Furnace once again burned brightly.
Rangga immediately loaded in the required materials.
Steel Ingot ×30
Iron Ingot, Tin Ingot, and Coal began processing simultaneously. After that, he moved on to the next recipe.
Brass Ingot ×30
Copper Ingot, Zincornium Ingot, and Coal once again filled the smelting chamber.
A short while later, all thirty Steel Ingots and thirty Brass Ingots had finished processing.
Rangga quickly collected the finished products before moving on to the Apothecary.
There, he opened the production list.
Natural Rubber
3 Raw Rubber
1 Charcoal
“This one.”
He immediately started the production process, eventually producing twenty pieces of Natural Rubber.
All the required materials were now complete. Rangga walked back toward the Production Bench.
The system panel appeared again. Every required material was now highlighted in green.
Without waiting any longer, he pressed the Upgrade button. Golden light immediately enveloped his simple production table.
The wooden table, tool racks, and the shed roof gradually disappeared behind the light.
The ground around it began to tremble gently. A few seconds later, the structure started to transform.
The wooden pillars became larger and sturdier. Walls began forming around the structure. A metal sliding door appeared at the front. The roof transformed into a much stronger construction, complete with a ventilation chimney.
When the light finally faded, the simple production table was gone.
Standing before Rangga was an entirely new building.
It was not particularly large, but it looked much more like a private workshop than an ordinary open-air work area.
Rangga stood speechless for a moment.
“…Damn.”
He looked around his island.
His house stood on the right, the storage warehouse was behind him, the Apothecary stood beside the house and now, a production workshop had joined them, completing the whole setup.
“It’s almost becoming a whole compound…”
Rangga chuckled softly. He then pushed open the workshop door and stepped inside. The moment he entered, his eyes immediately began scanning the room.
His old wooden table was gone.
In its place, the room was filled with metal workbenches, large vises, neatly arranged tool racks, a small furnace for precision work, and various mechanical tools he had never even seen before.
Gear wheels, levers, metal molds, measuring instruments, and other equipment covered the walls. Most of them looked incredibly advanced.
Rangga slowly walked through the room. His hand touched one of the metal tools.
“Huh… What the hell is this for?”
He moved on to another piece of equipment. This one looked even stranger.
“I don’t understand this one either.”
Rangga could only scratch his head and chuckle. Although he had no idea what most of the equipment was used for, he realized one thing.
His Production Bench was no longer merely a worktable. It had become a private workshop capable of producing equipment with a much higher level of technology than before.
Rangga immediately opened the panel on the newly upgraded Production Bench.
Unlike before, the interface was much simpler this time. It was no longer filled with an enormous list of items. Instead, all the recipes were divided into categories.
Production Bench Lv.5
Production Categories
Weapon Upgrade
Armor Upgrade
Trinkets
Electronic Components
Structural Components
Rangga frowned.
“I’ve got a bad feeling about this… Usually there are tons of new things. If it’s this simple… that means what’s inside is probably insane.”
With some hesitation, he pressed the first category.
Weapon Upgrade
A new list immediately opened. At the top were various weapon upgrade paths.
Bow Upgrade
Crossbow Upgrade
Sword Upgrade
Spear Upgrade
Throwing Javelin Upgrade
Shield Upgrade
Hammer Upgrade
At the bottom was another category.
Weapon Components
Rangga immediately opened it.
Dozens of weapon components filled the screen. But his eyes quickly settled on two items.
Arrow Head EMP
Materials:
1 EMP Core
1 Arrow Alloy
Melee EMP Core
Materials:
1 EMP Core
2 Reinforced Alloy Plate
Rangga scratched his head.
“Whoa… So these are upgrades for my weapon materials?”
He reread the descriptions.
“But… what the hell is an EMP?”
He slowly shook his head. There were still far too many materials he had never seen before.
Rangga then reopened the Bow and Throwing Javelin upgrade paths.
Just as he expected, almost all of the recipes were still filled with unfamiliar materials.
“Yeah… Can’t make these yet.”
He closed the Weapon Upgrade category and moved on to the next one.

As soon as he opened it, four types of armor appeared.

Rangga could only rub his temples.
“Damn… What the hell is all this?”
His eyes moved from one recipe to another. The more he read, the more unfamiliar material names he found.
Rangga reread the list of materials.
“Impact Dampener… Flex Lining…”
He scratched his head.
“What are these supposed to be?”
His gaze then moved downward.
“Preservation Module… Mechanical Gyroscope… Thermal Core… Reinforced Alloy Plate… Synthetic Leather… Synthetic Fiber… and Trinkets.”
Rangga frowned for a moment, then slowly nodded.
“Wait… I’ve seen the ones at the bottom before.”
He remembered some of the loot from hunting mechanical dinosaurs that was still stored in his warehouse. Names like Preservation Module, Mechanical Gyroscope, and Thermal Core felt familiar because he had obtained them before. He simply hadn’t known what they were used for.
Rangga let out a long sigh.
“Good thing I have these… So I just need to find these two.”
He looked back at the two names at the top.
“Impact Dampener… Flex Lining… I don’t think I’ve ever gotten those.”
“As far as I understand… I only know what they’re supposed to do.”
He looked at the four types of armor again.
“Guardian for tanks… Scout for agility… Hunter for ambushes… Survival for extreme environments.”
He nodded slowly.
“So later… not everyone will have to wear the same armor anymore.”
Even so, seeing such a long list of required materials still made his head ache.
“Looks like… I’ve still got a long way to go.”
