My Glitched World Throne System Came Ten Years Too Early!

Chapter 105: Everything’s In Motion

Back at Roderic, Captain Harris was now frantically flipping through the pages of the third manual.

His earlier calm and worries were nowhere to be seen.

Instead, pure awe and shock had filled every single feature of his face.

Roderic watched everything with an amused grin.

’That really did something to him, huh,’ he thought. ’A nice little bonus for me, I guess.’

Maybe that was just what he deserved after spending so many coins.

After only a few more minutes, Harris finally reached the end of the third manual.

For several seconds, he simply stared at the final page.

Then, with a deep breath, Harris slowly closed the book.

’’Incredible...’’ he muttered. ’’Absolutely incredible.’’

His gaze moved between the three manuals before eventually settling on Roderic.

’’Young master, these techniques are...’’ Harris paused, seemingly struggling to find the right words. ’’I don’t even know what to say.’’

Roderic chuckled softly.

’’So, are they good enough for them?’’ he asked teasingly.

’’More than good enough!’’ Harris replied immediately. ’’These techniques... even duchies wouldn’t necessarily have them!’’

Roderic’s smile widened even further.

’’That good, huh,’’ he said, reaching out to take the three manuals back. ’’Glad I didn’t waste my money.’’

Captain Harris didn’t even hear his words.

His gaze had long locked onto the final pitch-black manual still beneath Roderic’s arm.

’’And that one?’’ he asked, pointing at it.

Roderic paused for a moment.

Glancing down, his expression turned a little more complicated as the system’s words ran through his mind.

’’Yeah... you’ll have to trust me on this one,’’ he said, shaking his head. ’’It’s too peculiar to pass around.’’

Captain Harris’s eyebrow shot up right away.

’’Peculiar? How so?’’ he asked.

Straightening himself, Roderic couldn’t help but scratch the back of his head.

’’It’s...’’ he started, searching for the right words. ’’It’s cursed!’’

Captain Harris froze in place.

Then his eyes widened immensely.

’’Cursed?!’’ he exclaimed, immediately taking a few steps back. ’’Young master, you brought a cursed object into the estate?!’’

His reaction caught Roderic completely off guard.

’Um?’

’Those kind of items are actually a thing here? How the hell have I never heard about them?’

Unfortunately, there was no time to think about that right now.

Harris was already staring at the pitch-black manual like it might suddenly grow legs and murder everyone.

’’Calm down,’’ Roderic quickly said. ’’It’s not that kind of curse.’’

The middle-aged man’s expression barely changed.

’’What other kind is there?!’’ he nearly shouted. ’’You didn’t make a deal with the devil ri—’’

’’Just listen!’’ Roderic interrupted loudly.

Captain Harris fell silent right away.

Despite having composed himself, the wariness never left his face.

Pinching his nose, Roderic grumbled some words to himself.

Then he lifted the dark manual slightly.

’’This book chooses its owner,’’ he explained. ’’Or, well... something like that. There are certain requirements someone has to meet before they can understand its contents.’’

Harris’s expression remained tense.

’’And if they don’t meet these requirements?’’ he asked cautiously.

Roderic didn’t even hesitate.

’’They might go insane,’’ he replied casually.

Captain Harris’s mouth opened, but no words came out.

For a few seconds, he simply stared at Roderic in disbelief.

Then his gaze slowly shifted towards the four young knights behind him.

’’And you intend to give this to one of them?’’ he asked incredulously.

Roderic nodded once.

Without another thought, he pointed directly at Paul.

’’Him right there,’’ he replied.

Paul’s eyes widened.

He slowly raised his hand before pointing back at himself.

’’Me?’’ he asked quietly.

Roderic nodded once more.

’’You,’’ he replied curtly.

Captain Harris looked between the two of them, seemingly at a complete loss for words.

’’Young master...’’ he eventually started. ’’You just told me this thing can drive someone insane.’’

’’If they don’t meet its requirements,’’ Roderic corrected. ’’But Paul does, so there won’t be an issue.’’

At least, that’s what his gut told him.

The system had never explicitly stated or guaranteed it, after all.

Harris frowned deeply.

’’Young master... isn’t this too risky?’’ he asked. ’’Paul has such amazing talent...’’

The knight captain clearly looked like he wanted to say more.

But Roderic didn’t give him any more time.

’’Catch,’’ he said, tossing the manual towards Paul.

Still flabbergasted, Paul caught the manual on instinct.

Slowly but surely, his gaze started to shift down to the pitch-black book in his hands.

Everyone turned towards him, each holding their breath.

Several seconds slowly ticked by... but nothing happened.

’’See,’’ Roderic said with a smile. ’’We’re all good.’’

Paul looked up from the manual with wide eyes.

’’Was something supposed to happen?’’ he asked slowly.

Roderic shrugged.

’’Not sure,’’ he replied. ’’Book seemed pretty safe to me.’’

This time, it wasn’t just Captain Harris who shot him an incredulous look.

Roderic ignored all of them, though.

Instead, he began tossing the other manuals to each of their designated partners.

After they all caught them, Roderic clapped his hands.

’’Alright, open them,’’ he said. ’’See if you can understand what you’re reading.’’

The four exchanged brief glances before doing exactly that.

Pages began turning one after another.

Roderic’s gaze moved between them, watching their expressions carefully.

But naturally, most of his attention remained on Paul.

He watched as Paul opened the book and slowly began reading.

Then suddenly, his eyes widened.

Not out of insanity or anything.

Instead, he seemed fully immersed in whatever was written before him.

’Good,’ he thought, letting out a quiet breath. ’Everything worked out.’

With that final worry gone, he clapped his hands together once more.

’’Alright! It’s already getting dark, so this’ll be enough for today,’’ he said loudly. ’’I can help most of you with the basics tomorrow, so make sure you get some rest.’’

The four reluctantly closed their manuals.

Even Captain Harris stared at Roderic, still filled with countless questions.

But Roderic simply waved them goodbye and began heading back to the estate.

’Finally,’ he thought, stretching his arms over his head. ’I can get some much-needed rest.’

After everything he’d done today, he deserved that much.

Roderic let out another deep breath as his eyes locked onto the sunset.

’Everything’s finally in motion now.’
