Chapter 82: Time For Some Shopping!
Early the next morning, three carriages stood outside the Whitemane mansion.
Servants moved around them, securing the final bags and supplies for the long journey home.
Roderic stood nearby with Edmund, watching the last few preparations.
After spending four days in Aldermere, they were finally leaving.
’What the hell am I going to do this time though?’ he thought, wincing. ’There’s another ten-day gap to fill with fuck all!’
Roderic let out a deep sigh before shaking his head dejectedly.
Just then, Edmund’s voice rang out behind him.
’’Young master...’’
Roderic glanced back at him.
The chubby attendant pointed towards the final carriage, where two servants had just finished securing several large bags.
’’Everything has been prepared,’’ he continued. ’’We can leave whenever you wish.’’
Roderic nodded right away.
’’Then let’s get going,’’ he replied casually.
With that, he walked towards his carriage while stretching his arms overhead.
Around him, the Whitemane knights began mounting their horses.
Unlike before, their group really wasn’t particularly large.
But Roderic wasn’t worried in the slightest.
After everything that had happened on their way here, he highly doubted another group of bandits would appear.
And even if they did...
’I’ll be forming my second aura seal in a day or two,’ he thought. ’Nobody will be able to handle us.’
With that in mind, Roderic climbed into his carriage.

A short while later, the gates of Aldermere slowly disappeared behind them.
Three carriages traveled in a row along the wide road, surrounded by the Whitemane knights and soldiers on horseback.
Roderic glanced through the window as the last traces of the city vanished into the distance.
’’Well,’’ he muttered, leaning back into his seat. ’’There goes Aldermere.’’
Finally, he pulled his head back inside.
For the first time in several days, he was completely alone.
Edmund had decided to ride alongside the coachman, while the other carriages carried their supplies and remaining men.
Roderic remained silent for a moment.
Then, a thought suddenly crossed his mind.
’’System,’’ he called out.
A familiar blue screen popped up in front of his eyes.

A wide smirk appeared on his face.
Hoarding seemed especially pointless with a war on the horizon.
Without another thought, he pressed on the shop.

Roderic couldn’t believe his eyes.

Roderic grumbled for another few seconds.
Then his gaze returned to the normal shop window.
If there was anything else he was interested in, it’d be the talents section.
He pressed the corresponding section right away.

The list changed right away.
Dozens of different options appeared before his eyes, ranging from simple sense enhancements to talents specifically meant for throwing weapons.
Roderic slowly scrolled through them.
Most were either too expensive or simply not useful enough to justify buying.
Still, several immediately caught his attention.
After going through the entire list, Roderic eventually narrowed it down to four.

He could technically afford all of them.

If anything, Roderic already considered himself quite talented at throwing.
The same went for the spatial awareness one.
Though it was leaps more useful than the other one, it was still too expensive!

Instead, Roderic’s attention shifted over to the final two options.

Without another thought, he purchased both.
