Resting
Waking up in mama’s arms, it seems another day has passed. I’m not sure how long I’ve been here now, maybe three or four days.
“Hey mama?”
“Yes, dear?”
“How long have I been here?”
“Not that long, only about a month.”
“A month!? That long already?”
“It’s not that long.”
“It is! I thought I'd only been here a few days…”
“In the end it doesn’t really matter, right? You still feel exhausted so just stay until you feel better.”
“Right…I do feel really exhausted. It’s like all I do is eat and sleep.”
“And that’s completely fine, your mama is here for you my dear. Just rest.”
“Okay…Thank you mama.”
“You’re welcome, dear.”
“Can I get some kisses before I go to sleep again?”
“Of course you can~”

“Okay I’ll go back to sleep now. Thank you mama, I love you.”
A little taken aback for just a second mama gets a bit teary eyed as she answers, “I love you too, Rose. Good night.”
Waking up again, I seem to be outside in my underwear while mama is next to me lying on her belly completely naked.
“Eh!? Mama, why are you naked!? What if anyone sees?”
“How else am I going to sunbathe if not naked? Also it’s not like there is anyone here that would care. Nakedness isn’t something indecent here like it is in most countries.”
“Really?”
“Yep, it’s not like we go around clothed in our draconic form either, right?”
“That’s true…But Scarlet said I shouldn’t expose my belly to others because it’s lewd.”
“Pfft She is right, a proper lady doesn’t expose her belly to strangers but you’re still young, you don’t have to be a proper lady yet. Also this is our home, there is no place better suited to be naked than your home right?”
“I guess that’s true.”
“Also, doesn’t the sun just feel divine on your skin?”
“Yeah…It really does!”
“Then how about we both enjoy being not so proper ladies today and expose our belly to the sun together?”
“Okay!”
We then both turn around showing our bellies to the sun.
“Sigh Doesn’t this feel nice, Rose?”
“Kyuuu~ Yes…This reminds me of when manya and I went into the sauna together.”
“Oh? Was it nice?”
“Yeah! We liked it so much we even thought about how to make a sauna to sleep in.”
“Oh? What did you come up with?”
“Well we’d need a room with furniture that’s okay with it and a huge leaky cauldron.”
“Why not a normal cauldron?”
“Because if it’s leaky we can fill it up and it will drop water on the stone all night without us needing to put water on it.”
“My~ That’s very smart.”
“Yeah! Manya and I came up with it together.”
Brushing through my hair mama says, “You’re such a smart girl, Rose!”
“Hehe, thank you mama!”
“...”
“Say…Mama, isn’t it annoying to take care of me? I’m just a stranger after all and I just sleep all the time.”
“Not at all. I really enjoy taking care of you. And even though I’m just a stranger to you, you’re not a stranger to me, you’re my family and I love you very much so I enjoy pampering you.”
“Really?”
“Yes, really.”
“Chuckle You’re such a weirdo, mama.”
“Thank you, dear~ I love you so much, Rose.”
“I love you too, mama!...In a stranger way of course.”
“Of course.”
“I’m not getting attached, I’m just using you!”
“Exactly. Use me for all the love you want my dear.”
“Yeah…I will. So how about you give me kisses when I’m in my draconic form this time?”
“Gladly~”
Closing my eyes I turn into my draconic form and mama gives me many kisses. Afterwards I cuddle up to her and we continue sunbathing until I fall asleep.
Slowly waking up again, I hear mama and someone with a similar voice speak something in Draconic. I then feel my hair being brushed through and smell a familiar scent…
Without hesitation I jump at the person and giddily say, “Manya?! You’re here!”
Only to find a kind looking adult woman with a crimson red bob cut and two long strands of hair, one on each side, framing her face. I believe it is called a side tail hair-cut. She looks a lot like mama.
“You’re not manya!” I say as I quickly get away from her and hide behind mama. “Who are you? Why do you smell like manya?”
Protectively taking me into her arms mama says, “That’s your auntie Carmilla. She’s actually my manya.”
“Is that why she smells like Scarlet?”
“It’s certainly possible~”
“I see…Sorry for jumping on you Miss.”
“It’s alright, love. You can pounce on me whenever you want to. I’m big and strong after all, kikikiki. Also just call me auntie. I’ve actually been seeing you a few times now but you were always either asleep or half asleep so we never talked before.”
“So…We already met?”
“Yep, here take a sniff.”
Holding out her wrist, auntie lets me sniff her. There is the smell of Scarlet on her but she also has a different smell. It smells familiar and makes me feel nice.
“Are you less scared now, love?”
“Yeah…I believe you, you smell familiar and nice. But that doesn’t mean I trust you!”
“Chuckle Well, we did just meet for the first time while you’re awake so it makes sense.
“You really do look a lot like mama though.”
“Kikikiki, of course. She’s my little sister after all. As the first born I’m the superior one though~”
“Oh? Seeing as I was able to learn from the countless mistakes you made, wouldn't it make sense I am the superior individual, manya?”
“Puh-lease, I know you want to seem all dignified but I know what a clutz you are.”
“Oh? I might be a clutz but at least I don’t seek validation from your children.”
“That’s because you couldn’t. They very much know I’m better~ What do you think, Rose? Who is prettier your mama or me~”
“Mama is a thousand times prettier than you!”
“Chuckle My~ Sorry about that manya but as you know children are always so honest~”
“She shouldn’t even be able to open her eyes yet so obviously there must be some disconnect there.”
“Right~ That must be it.”
“Oh, you know where I definitely have your mama beat, Rose? I’m a really good fighter.”
“Maybe, but mama is nice and you’re mean so she’s still better.”
Brushing through my hair mama says, “Don’t be too harsh on your auntie, Rose. We’re just play-fighting. We actually love each other a lot and your aunty isn’t really mean.”
“Really?”
“Yes, really.”
“Oh…In that case sorry auntie. I got the wrong idea…”
Stroking my chin, she answers with a smile, “Don’t worry about it, love. I was just being dumb. It’s really nice to meet you though.”
Avoiding her eyes I answer, “Yeah…Nice to meet you too…”
“Chuckle You don’t have to force it, love. I’ll come visit more often until you mean it.”
“You don’t need to do that.”
“Oh? I want to though! It’s been so long since Scarlet was small, I can’t wait to pamper you~”
“I’ll just stay here for a bit to rest, then I’ll be gone. There is no need to get attached to me.”
“Ehhh~ Is that so?”
“Gao!”
“I see, well I guess it can’t be helped. I’ll just have to enjoy the little time you’re here twice as much then.”
“You’re weird…”
“Yep! Everyone in our family is a huge weirdo so I’m sorry to say Rose, but it’s probably in our blood. But we’ll gladly let you into the weirdo club when you’re older.”
“You have a club?”
“Yep, a reeeeaaalllyyy big one too with cakes and tea and chocolate milk.”
“Really!?”
“Yes, really really!”
“Woah…That sounds fun.”
“It is! I’ll send you the invite when you’re older.”
“Okay!”
Mama then talks to auntie in Draconic.

“Carmilla…What are you doing? She isn’t just a normal baby that will forget that tomorrow. What will you do if she remembers it?”
“I’ll just make that club then.”
“Huh!? What are you talking about?”
“A club for my family and close friends where we just hang out and eat sweets all day? Sounds pretty awesome to me. Wanna be a founding member, Ruby?”
“Sigh I’m a busy person, you know.”
“I didn’t hear a no~”
“F-fine…I guess I’ll join your stupid club big sis.”
“Heh, that’s what I’m talking about!”
“Let’s go back to Uni though.”
“Do we haaaaaave to? She needs to learn our language anyways.”
“She’s a newborn, she’s years away from even starting to babble. You know her circumstances, let’s not make it difficult for her.”
