Party time
—-------------------------------------------
Meanwhile, during every other shooting Stars night out:
Scarlet’s Night:
Sitting down at a table in the center of the room, Scarlet looks at the menu.
“Hmm…Waiter!”
“Yes?”
“What is this eating challenge thing?”
“Oh that, it’s a challenge we have here. If you beat the record of steaks eaten, they’re free and we put your name on the board for anyone to marvel at but if you don’t beat the record you have to pay for it.”
“So you’re telling me I can eat as much as I want and as long as I eat more than everyone else before me it’s free?”
“Correct.”
“So what’s the record?”
“Nine steaks weighing in at 2kg each.”
“That’s it? Sure I’ll do that.”
“Are you sure miss? Not to be mean but you look like you’d struggle with one of the steaks.”
“Are you deaf? I said I’ll do it.”
“Well…It’s your money…”
The waiter leaves with a shrug and after a bit of time comes back with the first plate and rings a bell, “Everyone, we have a new challenger for the steak challenge!”
People then start to laugh and scoff, “Can she even get one down!? Haha.”
“That bark is definitely bigger than the bite!”
But quickly quiet down as Scarlet, unbothered by them, scarfs down the first steak in a minute.
As things continue, Scarlet actually begins eating the steaks faster than the kitchen can cook them while a crowd forms around her cheering, “Scarlet! Scarlet! Scarlet!”
When she scarfs down the eighteenth steak the waiter comes to her and pleads, “Please, you can stop now! You already doubled the record!”
“But I can still go higher. So, bring out more.”
The staff then actively tries to sabotage her by undercooking the steaks to the point they eventually bring them out raw but Scarlet keeps on going unbothered.
At the 34th steak the waiter comes out completely defeated, “This one is cooked through, don’t worry we didn’t tamper with it. It’s the last steak in the kitchen…You completely cleaned us out.”
“So I win?”
“Yes…You win.”
The crowd goes wild and cheers loudly as the new record of 34 is written down on the board.
John and Rayla’s Night:
Rayla looks towards Rose’s booth concerned as a group of adventurers approach her, “Should I have stayed with Rose?”
“No, leave her alone. You two are glued together enough as it is, you need some time away from each other.”
“But what if something bad happens to her?”
A dwarven woman interrupts, “Oh my, are you two young parents as well?”
And a human man adds, “We’ve had the same sorts of conversations about our little one. It’s alright to have a date night out you know.”
Rayla answers, “Ah, no we’re not-”
“That’s what I keep telling you honey~ Everyone needs some time out for themselves,” John theatrically says, holding her hands.
“John…What are you doing?”
“Oh my~ Don’t tell me you’re embarrassed by me? Has it really been so long since we last were passionate with each other?”
“This is ridiculous, I’m going to check up on, Rose.”
The dwarven woman holds her back by the hand, “Woah, woah, woah, let’s not be rash. You need some time for yourselves as well. And think about your husband too, you can’t neglect him like this.”
“Right…My ‘husband’.”
“Yes, my wife~”
“If you really are my husband then surely you can tell me all the things you love about me~ I’d like to hear at least five.”
“Oh~ But of course, my shnooky pooh. The first thing I love about you is how you never lose confidence no matter what kind of rags you walk around in. I also love how you sometimes oink when you laugh.”
“I don’t do that!?”
“It’s nothing to be embarrassed about my hunny bunny~”
“Ahahaha, a husband always knows his wife the best. He surely is deeply in love with you, I can tell,” the human laughs.
“I wouldn’t be so sure about that…”
“What do you mean, honeybun? Am I not devoted enough to you? Why do you doubt me so?”
Rayla lets out a smirk and answers, “Oh? If you’re so devoted to me, who’s Brenda?”
“Brenda? I’m not sure I know who you’re referring to?”
“The bar wench Brenda you keep seeing behind my back every Saturday!”
“I…Uhm, that is but a friend of mine…”
“Is that so? Do you have your friends often undress at our home then? Because I found a pair of panties under the bed that I don’t own!”
The husband and wife then look at John with disgust and suspicion.
“Oh, that is but a misunderstanding! She was just coming by to take a bath after she was caught in the rain, she must have accidentally left it there.”
“Oh really~ Then who is Amanda?”
“A-Amanda?”
“Yes, I found some love letters addressed to you from someone named Amanda.”
“Ah those…You see she’s actually an ex lover that’s hung up on me.”
“If she’s just an ex-lover, how come you go to dinner with her every Friday before you come home!?”
The dwarven wife audibly gasps and the human husband gets noticeably angry while a small crowd is forming.
“Uhm, Rayla…Let’s maybe stop this here?”
Rayla, noticing Rose leave with Sher Aka, theatrically gets up and starts to fake cry, hiding her face behind her hands, “Yes, let’s stop this farce! I’m going home to our daughter!”
She then runs off outside after Rose and Sher Aka while John is left alone with a bunch of angry looking people.
“You like breaking your wife’s heart, huh!?”
“Let’s teach him a lesson guys!”
“Make sure to keep him in one piece. We need to set him straight, not break him for the sake of their daughter!”
Sher Aka’s Night:
Looking for a place somewhere further away from the band, Sher Aka watches Rose talking to some excited adventures and giggles before sitting down at a small table, with her back to the wall, where she has a full view of the guild. Looking at the mostly alcoholic menu she orders some tea and a vegetable lasagna as she takes in the music and atmosphere.
A good looking human man then approaches her and sits down at her table, “Hey there, good looking. Do you like what you see?”
“I did, but now you’re blocking my view.”
“Huh? You think you’re better than me just because you’re pretty?”
“No, I simply wish to quietly observe the party and you’re blocking my way.”
“Tsk Whatever, you’re not that good looking anyways.”
He scoffs as he stomps off while Sher Aka quietly returns to observing her surroundings and eating. In particular watching as a crowd forms around Scarlet scarfing down food.
“Hey there pretty lady, you taken?” a Wolf-Beastman asks as he sits down.
“Oh…Sorry…Me, no Uni.”
“That’s not a problem I speak elvish~”
“Ah, me no Elvish. Spirit? You speak Spirit?”
“Tsk This is hopeless…”
Over the rest of the night Sher Aka keeps getting approached by men until the men stop coming and the women show up.
“Hey, you!”
“Yes?”
“Can you stop flirting with all the guys?”
“I wasn’t flirting with them. I was simply eating here and politely declining any advances.”
“Puh! You’re not nearly pretty enough to be this desirable, you arrogant bitch. I guess it’s true what they say about knife ear women. You are just a bunch of arrogant sluts.”
“That is actually a harmful stereotype. We do not-”
Splash
The woman picks up Sher Akas lukewarm tea and spills it on her clothes.
“Oh my, looks like I slipped~”
“It indeed does look that way. Please excuse me, I believe it is time for me to head to bed.”
Sher Aka answers while standing up and using a napkin to dry her face.
“Yeah, you’d better you knife eared slut.”
Ignoring her provocation Sher Aka walks over to Rose who seems to have some women try to make advances on her.
“How about we go to bed now, Thoma Ahad? It’s late.”
“Yeah…Let’s go.”
Taking Rose’s hand Sher Aka leaves with her outside.
“What happened to your clothes Sher Aka?”
“Oh, I just spilled some tea.”
“Huh.”
“Did you enjoy yourself tonight Rose?”
“To be honest…Not really. There are a lot of weirdos and annoying people here.”
“There sure are, aren’t there…Next time someone annoys you too much just go and shout for me, okay? I’ll handle it.”
“Okay, thank you Sher Aka.”
“You’re welcome, Rose.”
“Wait you two!” Rayla yells as she jogs towards us, “Let’s go to our rooms quick before the keg blows.”
“Keg? What keg?”
“Oh, nothing for you to worry about, Rose.”
