My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building

Chapter 330: Abolishing the Rule

"A junior brother? Senior Sister Bai Xue, since when do you have a junior brother? Why didn’t we know?" The two of them were stunned.

"Junior Brother Chu Feng is Master’s last disciple—and our Master is the Sect Leader. But he’s already married, so of course he has a wife," Bai Xue explained.

In truth, she knew her junior sisters were shocked for two main reasons: first, that Chu Feng was a male disciple, and second, that he was already married.

After all, the Celestial Sword Sect had a rule against recruiting male disciples. More importantly, members were forbidden from dating or marrying. Violating that rule would lead to severe punishment.

"This..." The two of them were speechless. The news was simply too shocking.

"Don’t just stand there gawking. It’s all true. Besides, Master said that old rule is being abolished. From now on, we’ll be free to fall in love and get married," Bai Xue said with a smile.

In fact, when the Sect Leader of the Celestial Sword Sect had accepted Chu Feng as her disciple, she had already informed Bai Xue that this rule was to be abolished immediately.

"What? But we hadn’t heard anything about this when we left," the two said, shocked yet again. The news was a little hard for them to process.

"I imagine the news will be announced soon. When it is, you’ll all be able to find someone you like and get married," Bai Xue said with a smile.

’From Bai Xue’s perspective, it seemed this rule was abolished entirely because of Chu Feng.’

She had been just as shocked when she first heard the news. This rule had been passed down for centuries, and now it was being abolished just because of Chu Feng.

"So I should call you two ’Senior Sister’ as well, right?" Chu Feng asked Bai Feng and Bai Qing with a smile.

"Junior Brother, Master told me before she left that from now on, you are the First Disciple of the Celestial Sword Sect," Bai Xue said.

"Huh? When did I become your First Disciple?" Chu Feng was baffled. He had no idea.

"Master told me so herself. She said your strength is more than enough to be the First Disciple. But you still have to call me Senior Sister," Bai Xue said with a grin. It was obvious she was very happy.

"Er... alright then. Let’s get going. I’m getting impatient. I want to see how many people show up for this Martial Arts Grand Ceremony." Chu Feng didn’t stand on ceremony, pulling Su Miaoke into the car with him.

Bai Xue followed, taking the front passenger seat.

"We don’t have the numbers for this time yet. But the last time it was held, fifty years ago, a total of seventy-six sects and two hundred sixty Martial Arts Families from across the country attended. Then again, fifty years have passed. Who knows what it will be like now," Bai Xue said.

"That many? Even if each sect brings an average of ten people, that’s still several thousand people. Won’t a gathering of that size at Kunlun Mountain attract public attention?" Chu Feng asked curiously.

"During the Martial Arts Grand Ceremony, all access to Kunlun Mountain is sealed off. The government sends people to handle it personally. Even so, there’s no hundred-percent guarantee that no one will notice. Someone found out last time, but most people didn’t believe it and just treated it as idle gossip," Bai Xue explained.

The group left the airport and drove continuously northward.

As they drove further, about six hours into the journey, they could feel themselves ascending a Snow Mountain as the altitude gradually increased.

The surroundings were stark and desolate. The environment here, the very feel of the place, was completely different from the rest of the Northwest.

On the mountain range, there was no vegetation to be seen—only rocks or blankets of white snow.

Even though spring had already begun, it felt as frigid as the dead of winter.

Down south, some trees would already be sprouting fresh green buds by now.

"It’s a pretty stark contrast with the south, isn’t it?" Bai Xue asked with a smile.

"Yeah, it’s completely different. So, which do you prefer? Here, or the south?" Chu Feng asked with a smile.

"Each has its own charms. The south is lush and bursting with life, but this place has its own sense of vastness. I’d say they both have their strengths, and the feeling is completely different. I can’t say I prefer one over the other. In the end, all the world’s green mountains are one and the same," Bai Xue said.

"Senior Sister Bai Xue, once the Grand Ceremony is over, you should come visit us in Beihai! We can go to the beach, go fishing on a boat, go swimming... It’s way more fun than looking at mountains," Su Miaoke said with a smile.

"I’d love that. Once the Grand Ceremony is over, I’ll come visit when I have the time," Bai Xue replied.

After spending this time together, the three of them had grown quite close.

"Huh? Senior Sister, First Disciple... is it really spring in the south already? You can see green leaves?" Bai Qing asked curiously from the side.

Although she’d had opportunities to leave the Sect, she’d only ever wandered around the cities near its gates. She had never truly left Northwest China.

They yearned for the south’s year-round spring-like climate, which they had only ever seen online and never experienced in person.

It was the same in many sects and Martial Arts Families; plenty of disciples had never left home or traveled far.

"That’s right, spring has already sprung. You can even see flowers in some places," Chu Feng said with a smile.
