My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building

Chapter 269: Completion of the New Village

Not long ago, he had been in Beihai City, earning just thirty-five hundred a month.

Now, he was spending over ten million just to build a ceremonial archway in his hometown.

This was something he couldn't have even imagined in the past.

As soon as they entered, they saw decorations and signs lining both sides of the road, creating an overall rustic, classic atmosphere.

Farther ahead were two enormous parking lots, one on the left and one on the right, each with enough space for a hundred cars.

Even when not used for parking, they could serve as the villagers' grain-drying grounds.

The next thing to come into view was row after row of villas.

These villas, however, leaned toward a Chinese aesthetic. They looked like a fusion of Chinese and Western design, giving off a "New Chinese" vibe.

Chu Feng was very pleased with their design, color, and placement.

The village had been carefully planned. The roads were wide enough for two cars to pass simultaneously without feeling crowded at all.

The entire village consisted of only fifty or sixty households, so each villa was quite large, with a footprint of two to three hundred square meters.

At the center of the village stood an ancestral hall and a large assembly hall.

The assembly hall occupied a large area, and there was a vast open space in front of it.

"Honey, we could set up hundreds of tables in this hall," Su Miaoke said, extremely pleased as she looked at it.

Chu Feng looked it over as well, nodding repeatedly.

"It seems Secretary Wang did his homework on me. He's very thorough," Chu Feng commented.

Chu Yuntian and Chu Feng's mother were also stunned by the sight.

They knew the village was changing day by day, but they had never expected the transformation to be this immense. It was beyond their wildest imagination.

"Is... is this really our village?" Chu Feng's mother asked, her face a picture of astonishment. She was so shocked her jaw nearly hit the floor.

As they stood there in shock, the sound of firecrackers suddenly erupted.

The family looked over, confused about what was going on.

Then came the sound of beating gongs and drums.

Once they understood what was happening, they realized the villagers had been waiting for Chu Feng's family to return to hold an inauguration ceremony for the new village.

The whole place was decorated with lanterns and colorful streamers, creating a joyous and festive atmosphere.

This left Chu Yuntian and his wife at a complete loss.

"Folks, what is all this?" Chu Yuntian asked.

"Old Chu, your son Chu Feng is a great benefactor to us all! He's our God of Wealth! If it weren't for your Xiao Feng, we'd all still be living in our old, dilapidated houses."

"That's right! If it wasn't for Chu Feng, when would we ever get to experience living in a villa? It's like a dream!"

"Having your family here is truly a blessing for our Fuhe Village."

The villagers all chimed in, one after another.

Their gratitude toward Chu Feng was genuine and came from the heart.

Chu Feng had transformed their living conditions. Photos of these grand villas had already caused quite a stir online after being posted.

Furthermore, everyone had learned that a villa like this would cost nearly ten million, even in the most remote areas.

"All of you watched me grow up, and you helped my family out plenty when I was a kid. Now that I'm in a position to do so, it's only right for me to help improve everyone's living conditions," Chu Feng said modestly.

Over the next hour, they held a grand ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Chu Feng's family had to be the ones to do it personally, or the inauguration ceremony wouldn't be considered complete.

After the ceremony, everyone shared a meal in the assembly hall.

During that single meal, Chu Feng ended up drinking more than a dozen bottles of alcohol. The villagers toasted him one after another, and he lost count of how many times he heard their words of thanks.

By the time everyone had their fill of food and drink, it was nearly evening.

"Honey, now that the village has been renovated like this... I have to say, it's so much better than the Cyan Dragon Mountain Villa." Su Miaoke and Chu Feng stood on the roof of their house, watching the sun set in the distance.

The golden glow of the setting sun washed over their faces, creating a feeling so pleasant it made you want to seize the moment and hold onto it forever.

"Then let's live here from now on," Chu Feng said with a smile.

He gazed at the distant sunset, a serene expression on his face. His heart felt an unprecedented sense of peace and tranquility.

"In that case, honey, you can have them bring the medicinal herbs over," Su Miaoke said. "I have to admit, that Secretary Wang is really something else. I have no idea how he found out we were stockpiling medicinal herbs, but he even built several large storage rooms on the mountain behind the village."

The location is quite remote. Most people wouldn't even notice it, let alone walk in that direction.

"That was probably Jiang Tao," Chu Feng said with a laugh. "He saw our medicinal herbs, and he knew I was renovating the village. Things like this don't escape their notice. How else do you think they built fortunes worth hundreds of billions? If they didn't have that kind of foresight, they'd be nothing."

'He's right. People like Jiang Tao and Wang Hong, who had reached their level of success, were all sharp as tacks.'

With that, Chu Feng called Wu Yongzhi.

"Xiao Wu, arrange to have all the medicinal herbs from the factory sent over to me here."
