Chapter 253: Coughing Up Blood from Rage
Seeing Chu Wushuang’s fury, Chu Feng remained calm. He simply stated flatly, "You’re no match for me."
With that, Chu Feng swung the Heaven-Slaying Sword.
However, he didn’t even unsheathe the blade. It was a clear sign of his contempt; it didn’t matter that Chu Wushuang was one of the most outstanding members of the Chu Family’s younger generation.
One had to possess truly formidable strength to force Chu Feng to draw his blade.
This just went to show that very few people in the Chu Family were worthy of Chu Feng’s serious attention.
The Chu Family had fallen into decline; there was simply no one strong enough to be worth his effort.
"Hah!" Chu Wushuang’s face was pale with rage. Infuriated by Chu Feng, he drew his sword and lunged.
A torrent of Sword Qi whistled through the air, heading straight for Chu Feng’s face with immense power.
Yet, when Chu Feng saw it coming, he merely turned his body slightly and casually raised the Heaven-Slaying Sword to parry.
DING!
He effortlessly knocked Chu Wushuang’s sword aside.
The reason Chu Feng appeared so calm, contemptuous, and unhurried was because, in his eyes, Chu Wushuang’s attack was simply too slow. Absurdly slow.
It was no wonder Chu Feng was being so dismissive and scornful.
"Fight me!" Chu Wushuang roared in fury.
He never imagined Chu Feng would be so dismissive. Rage boiled within him.
"You’re not worthy," Chu Feng said flatly.
DING!
With another flick of his wrist, Chu Feng easily blocked Chu Wushuang’s strike.
"Fight me!" Chu Wushuang screamed again, on the verge of exploding with rage.
Yet, Chu Feng continued to ignore him, his responses utterly dismissive.
The crowd below the stage watched this unfold, every one of them clenching their fists and gritting their teeth in utter fury.
"Fuck, this guy’s so arrogant, such a show-off," someone cursed angrily.
"Chu Wushuang, destroy him! Fucking destroy him!" another person shouted, grinding their teeth so hard they nearly shattered.
But no matter how furious they were, it changed nothing.
"If you insist on me attacking, then I won’t hold back," Chu Feng said flatly, feigning a look of reluctance.
SCHWING!
Chu Feng slashed out. Even though the sword was still in its scabbard, the strike descended with terrifying, unparalleled power.
BOOM!
BANG!
The moment the sheathed sword fell, a thunderous roar erupted.
Chu Wushuang’s arm trembled violently, and his entire body was blasted backward as if struck by a tremendous force.
He crashed heavily onto the training platform, barely half a meter from rolling off the edge.
If he hadn’t stabbed his sword into the ground at the last second, he would have surely tumbled off.
And falling off the platform meant he would lose the duel.
So, ignoring the pain, Chu Wushuang charged forward once more.
"Again!" Chu Wushuang yelled, his face a mask of defiance. He refused to believe he was weaker than Chu Feng.
DING! DING! DING!
The two clashed repeatedly, the sounds ringing out across the platform as everyone watched with rapt attention.
Though they all desperately wanted Chu Wushuang to win, anyone with eyes could see he was completely outmatched by Chu Feng.
On closer inspection, the gap between them was actually immense.
"You still want to go? You can’t beat me," Chu Feng said with a smile. He had been on the defensive the entire time.
Yet even then, Chu Wushuang could barely hold his ground.
It just went to show how terrifyingly powerful Chu Feng truly was.
"I don’t believe it!" Chu Wushuang’s eyes were bloodshot, and he snarled through gritted teeth, his face contorted with rage.
He was supposed to be a prodigy of the Chu Family, one of their best, yet he was being defeated so wretchedly by Chu Feng.
Chu Feng hadn’t even deigned to take him seriously.
"Fine. I’ll indulge you," Chu Feng said with a smile. Despite everything, he had to admit he respected the guy’s unwavering resolve.
’After all, people with the courage to face setbacks without fear are rare these days.’
’Even though Chu Wushuang is no match for me, at least he has the guts to challenge me.’
Chu Feng admired that kind of courage.
But admiration was one thing. A few clashes later, Chu Wushuang was defeated.
A final kick from Chu Feng sent him flying off the platform.
BANG!
He crashed heavily onto the ground below.
"Is this the extent of the Chu Family’s strength? Why don’t you send some of the higher-ups to have a go at me?" Chu Feng shouted arrogantly, his gaze sweeping over the crowd.
"You little beast, don’t you get too arrogant!" an angry roar echoed from the distance.
A dozen or so old men emerged; they were the upper echelon of the Chu Family.
The man in the lead was none other than the Chu Family Patriarch, Chu Wuji.
The others were all high-ranking Elders of the Chu Family, men of extremely high status and some of the strongest members of the clan.
The strongest among them had even reached the Foundation Establishment Realm, possessing truly formidable combat strength.
"Heh, you call *this* arrogant? When my uncle was fighting your battles and protecting the Chu Family, you didn’t have a word to say then, did you? My uncle has been wounded for decades, and not once have you helped heal him. It’s laughable!" Chu Feng glared at them, rage seething in his eyes.
The very thought of it made his blood boil. Who would be willing to die for a family like this?
"You little bastard, what nonsense are you spouting!" one of the Chu Family higher-ups berated.
"Nonsense? Are you afraid to admit what you’ve done? Decades ago, my uncle, Chu Yunfei, fought the Qing Gang to the death and was tragically poisoned. But in all these years, have any of you ever tried to find an antidote for him? You’ve let him suffer alone for decades!" Chu Feng roared.
"You don’t know shit! Chu Yunfei was already a cripple after that battle! The family helped stabilize his condition. Do you have any idea what it would cost to cure that poison?" another higher-up retorted angrily.
Hearing this, Chu Feng’s eyes narrowed, his fury flaring once more.
"What? He nearly gave his life for the Chu Family, and you decide whether to save him based on the *cost*? No wonder the Qing Gang nearly wiped out our family! It’s because of trash like you! With you in charge, the Chu Family’s destruction is only a matter of time!"
Chu Feng held nothing back, roaring his accusations in front of everyone.
At his words, the Chu Family’s higher-ups flew into a rage, looking as if they wanted to tear him to pieces.
"Insolence!"
"What nonsense are you spouting?! Watch your mouth, or I’ll kill you with a single palm strike!"
"And who are you supposed to be?" Chu Feng asked, looking at the old man who had just berated him.
"I am the Fourth Elder of the Chu Family!" the old man declared arrogantly, as if it were a title worth boasting about.
"Oh, and I was wondering who it was. So it’s just an old turtle. You’ve certainly lived a long time, I’ll give you that," Chu Feng said without a hint of restraint.
The elder was so incensed by Chu Feng’s remark that he looked ready to explode.
"You’re too arrogant! I’ll see you dead today!" The Chu Family Elder was so furious he nearly coughed up blood.
