Chapter 221: Afraid of Beating You to Death
This guy stared at Su Miaoke as if he’d never seen a woman before.
His aggressive gaze made Su Miaoke extremely uncomfortable.
She hated it when other men stared at her like that, and anger flared up within her.
"What are you looking at?" Su Miaoke couldn’t hold it in and snapped at him.
Her sharp retort finally brought Ma Lin back to his senses.
Before Ma Lin could say anything, an underling behind him stepped forward.
"What the fuck did you say? How dare you talk to our boss like that? You got a death wish?" The underling was incredibly arrogant, holding a long, gleaming blade and looking like he was ready to kill someone.
Seeing Su Miaoke threatened and cursed at with a knife, Chu Feng’s anger instantly flared.
A terrifying aura instantly erupted from his body.
But at that moment, Ma Lin slapped the underling squarely across the face.
SLAP!
The sound of the slap was crisp and clear.
No one had expected Ma Lin to suddenly lash out.
The slap left the guy completely stunned, sending him spinning.
"Boss!" The underling hadn’t expected Ma Lin to hit him.
"Get the hell aside! Did I fucking tell you to speak?" Ma Lin cursed angrily.
After all, he had already taken a fancy to Su Miaoke, his eyes filled with an aggression that wished it could see right through her.
However, at that moment, Chu Feng spoke.
"Did I say he could leave?" Chu Feng asked suddenly, his voice ice-cold.
When everyone heard him, they all stared at Chu Feng in shock and disbelief.
Ma Lin and his cronies, in particular, stared at Chu Feng in astonishment, as if he were an idiot.
No one had imagined that Chu Feng would choose this moment to speak up, much less say something like that.
The driver and the secretary both felt their brows twitch, sensing that things were about to get messy.
The secretary was already preparing to send a message to his boss.
"Were you just talking to me?" Ma Lin looked at Chu Feng, his expression one of utter disbelief.
"You could also say I was talking to a dog," Chu Feng replied indifferently.
At this, the underling who Ma Lin had just slapped exploded with rage.
"Who the fuck do you think you are? Daring to talk to my boss like that, are you looking to die?" The man pointed his long blade at Chu Feng, his stance making it clear he wanted nothing more than to cut him down.
As he spoke, the dozens of underlings behind Ma Lin all took a step forward in unison. Their combined aura was more than enough to terrify an ordinary person.
But was the person they were trying to intimidate just some ordinary man?
Although Chu Feng stood alone, he showed not a shred of fear. Instead, he was sneering inwardly, filled with utter disdain.
"Kid, if I wasn’t giving face to Wang Hong, I would’ve chopped you into pieces and fed you to the dogs long ago. I can’t believe you have the nerve to be so arrogant with me!" Ma Lin’s expression darkened, a vicious look spreading across his face.
He was a ruthless man, capable of doing anything he dared to try.
Hearing this, the faces of the secretary and the driver turned grim. The secretary hurriedly spoke up, "Young President Ma, this is a good friend of our President Wang. If you dare lay a hand on Mr. Chu, you’d better think about our President Wang’s reaction."
The secretary had no other choice but to use Wang Hong’s name as a deterrent.
After all, Wang Hong had given them specific instructions to ensure Mr. Chu’s safety.
This whole situation was giving the secretary a massive headache.
"Heh, even if Wang Hong himself came today, it wouldn’t matter. This kid is dead! Go, cut him down for me!" Ma Lin roared arrogantly, pointing a finger at Chu Feng.
The driver instantly stepped forward, positioning himself in front of Chu Feng.
"Mr. Chu, you and the lady should leave now," he said. The driver was tall and powerfully built; it was clear he was a trained fighter.
A powerful figure like Wang Hong would naturally have a highly skilled driver, typically a former chief military instructor or a retired member of an elite special forces unit.
They could easily take on ten opponents at once.
That was why the driver had stepped forward to shield Chu Feng from the thugs.
When Ma Lin saw this, the smirk on his face only widened.
"What? You think you alone can stop my dozens of men? And you’re unarmed, too. I’d love to see how many you can handle. Go on, kill him!" Ma Lin taunted, his expression like someone watching a pit fight.
In his eyes, a human life was worth less than dirt.
Just then, however, Chu Feng pulled the driver back.
"Fall back. Just protect my wife," Chu Feng said calmly, stepping forward to take his place.
The driver froze for a second, not quite processing what was happening before Chu Feng had already taken his place.
"Mr. Chu, be careful!" Secretary Wang called out, extremely worried. If anything happened to Chu Feng, he would be in huge trouble.
The driver’s brows knitted together. He never imagined that Chu Feng would handle this himself.
He had already sensed that Chu Feng’s abilities were anything but ordinary, but given the man’s status, he couldn’t just stand by and watch him fight, even knowing how strong he was.
That’s why he had no choice but to step forward himself at the critical moment.
To be honest, he was very grateful for what Chu Feng did.
Most people in his position wouldn’t have cared whether he lived or died; they probably would have let him fight for a while before intervening.
But Chu Feng was completely different, which surprised the driver.
When Chu Feng stepped forward, all the men on the other side began to sneer.
These men were all street punks, gangsters, and local thugs.
So when they fought, they did so with reckless abandon, meaning they would definitely not hold back.
"Honey, be careful," Su Miaoke said to Chu Feng.
Ma Lin heard her and burst out laughing. "Oh, worried about your husband, are you? What a shame, because today he’s going to die right in front of you."
Seeing Ma Lin’s boisterous laughter, Su Miaoke’s face filled with anger and contempt. "I’m just afraid my husband might kill all of your men," she retorted. "It’s always a hassle when people die."
At her words, Ma Lin and his men all froze, not quite comprehending what she had said.
Then, Ma Lin burst out laughing as if he’d just heard the greatest joke of his life.
All of Ma Lin’s underlings joined in, laughing just as wildly.
