My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building

Chapter 182: Scared Half to Death

Moreover, the God of Wealth’s Wealth God Token was in his mind—the deity’s ultimate treasure.

’He’d even given me his ultimate treasure. There was no way the God of Wealth wasn’t gone for good.’

"That’s true. A master can only guide you to the path; your cultivation is your own journey. No one can do it for you," Su Miaoke said, nodding in agreement.

"You go to bed first. I’m going to take a shower and then join you," Chu Feng said with a smile.

Hearing the latter half of his sentence, Su Miaoke couldn’t help but blush.

Chu Feng woke up early the next morning. He had slept very soundly through the night.

He then carefully hid the Fire Spirit Stone in his car.

Over the next few days, construction crews came in and began building temporary housing for everyone. After all, the complete renovation of the village would take some time, and people couldn’t be left homeless in the meantime.

As long as the money was there, the construction work progressed quickly, even deep in the mountains.

Not far from the village entrance was a large, open area. It used to be a rice paddy but had probably been abandoned for over a decade. Back when the village was more populated, people used to farm it, but now no one did.

So, this was where the temporary housing was being built.

Chu Feng had requirements for the temporary housing, too: running water, electricity, gas, and full bath and shower facilities had to be included. Nothing could be left out.

In the following days, a great deal of construction machinery began operating at the village entrance.

During these few days, Chu Feng did nothing but cultivate. In truth, he was also thinking about planning and clearing a small path to that mountain cave.

After all, the cave was several dozen kilometers from the village, surrounded by primeval forest. When the time came for alchemy, transporting the medicinal herbs inside would be a difficult task.

Suddenly, Chu Feng had a brilliant idea: build a villa!

After all, it was quite normal for wealthy people to like living in the mountains, seeking out places with good feng shui.

Besides, this area was very remote, with no other villages for dozens of miles.

In the blink of an eye, several days had passed.

The temporary housing at the village entrance was already built. The village wasn’t large—only a few dozen households in total—so each family got one unit.

"Xiao Feng, the temporary housing has been ready for a few days now. When are you planning to start the main construction?" Chu Yuntian asked at the dinner table.

"Once I get the finalized design plans, I’ll have the work begin," Chu Feng said.

"Well, hurry it up. Everyone is thrilled about rebuilding the village and they keep asking me when it’s going to start," Chu Yuntian said with a nod and a smile.

These days, Chu Yuntian was extremely well-regarded in the village. Everywhere he went, people would greet him politely.

This feeling made both Chu Yuntian and his wife very happy.

"Oh no! I’m so sorry, honey, I forgot to do something," Su Miaoke suddenly exclaimed, slapping her forehead.

"Hm? What is it? Don’t tell me you forgot to send the payment?" Chu Feng asked when he heard this.

Su Miaoke nodded, a little afraid that Chu Feng would scold her.

"I’ve just been having so much fun these past few days that I completely forgot. I thought I’d already transferred it," Su Miaoke said, looking pitiful.

"It’s fine. I’ll call them and ask," Chu Feng said.

Chu Feng then dialed the designer’s number.

A moment later, the designer picked up.

"Hello, Designer Lin. I wanted to ask about the status of my design plans," Chu Feng asked.

"Who is this?" Designer Lin’s tone was extremely rude.

"This is Chu Feng from Fuhe Village. You came here before, for the village-wide renovation project," Chu Feng explained.

"Oh, that project. I haven’t done it. You haven’t paid, so why would I? You expect me to work for free? Send the money, and I’ll start immediately. The thirty-million deposit, and not a cent less," the man replied, his tone exceptionally hostile.

"The money isn’t a problem. I’d like to know, if I send the money now, how long will it take? Can you have it done by tomorrow?" Chu Feng asked.

"Tomorrow? That depends on how much you pay. Money arrives, plans arrive, and the construction crew arrives," the man said, his voice full of arrogance.

"Fine. Name your price," Chu Feng said readily.

"One hundred million!" Designer Lin blurted out from the other end of the line without a second thought.

The man was in the middle of eating instant noodles, paired with red wine.

The reason he dared to make such an outrageous demand was that he was certain Chu Feng didn’t have that kind of money and was just messing with him.

"Alright," Chu Feng said, then immediately hung up the phone.

At that moment, hearing Chu Feng’s response, Designer Lin immediately burst into a string of curses.

"Goddammit, who do you think you are, putting on an act for me? If you want to show off in your village, you don’t have to come up with such a trashy idea! Trying to get a free ride from me? In your dreams!" Designer Lin cursed furiously, thoroughly angered by Chu Feng.

From the start, he had felt that Chu Feng wasn’t some big-shot boss, so he hadn’t had high hopes, but he’d still held onto a sliver of them.

But after waiting for several days without Chu Feng wiring the money, he became even more convinced that Chu Feng was a fraud.

"I’ll transfer it right now. Thirty million, right?" Su Miaoke said after seeing Chu Feng hang up the phone.

When she said that number, the other three at the table were stunned into silence.

"How much?" Chu Yuntian asked, finding it hard to believe.

"Thirty million," Su Miaoke said, blinking as she looked toward Chu Feng.

"No, it’s not," Chu Feng said, shaking his head.

Hearing Chu Feng say no, Chu Yuntian and Chu Feng’s mother breathed a small sigh of relief.

But Chu Feng’s next words scared the couple half to death.

"Miaoke, transfer one hundred million to that account," Chu Feng said.

"What? One hundred million?" Chu Yuntian’s eyes went wide, his expression so shocked it looked like his eyeballs were about to pop out.

"Xiao Feng, you’re not joking, are you? One hundred million just for a drawing?" Upon hearing this, Chu Feng’s mother felt her breathing quicken, as if she couldn’t get enough air.

’That was more money than they could earn in several lifetimes.’

"Dad, Mom, it’s not just for the plans. That includes the cost of construction and materials. It’s an all-inclusive price," Chu Feng explained with a smile.

"That... that’s still a lot. Do we really need to spend that much?" Chu Yuntian was suddenly starting to have regrets. He regretted agreeing to Chu Feng’s decision.

"We’re rebuilding the entire village, plus building an ancestral hall, an auditorium, and a plaza with entertainment and fitness facilities. The parking lot alone needs to accommodate at least a hundred cars, and that might not even be enough. If it’s not, we’ll add more later," Chu Feng said.

"Still not enough? Our village wouldn’t even need a hundred parking spots if every household had a car!" Chu Hao’s jaw dropped when he heard that number.

Even Su Miaoke frowned upon hearing this, thinking it was a bit too wasteful.
