Chapter 171: Making Big Money
"Huh? Miaoke, you guys are almost here? I haven’t finished packing yet. I’m in Building Three, Room 307," Chu Hao said.
"Okay, we’ll be downstairs in five minutes," Su Miaoke said before hanging up.
"Do you know how to get to his school?" Chu Feng asked.
"Of course I do. I’m the one who arranged everything," Su Miaoke said.
Then, the large black Mercedes-Benz drove onto campus.
The moment it entered campus, it drew the attention of many female students.
After all, for many of the girls, a Mercedes G-Wagon was something they had absolutely no resistance to. They couldn’t tear their eyes away.
"That’s a G63! It’s so awesome!" one of the girls exclaimed, her eyes filled with excitement, looking like she wished she could just hop in.
The car stopped in front of Chu Hao’s dorm building, quickly drawing a lot of attention.
"Quick, look! It’s a G63, and it’s the fully-loaded model!" someone shouted. Immediately, heads poked out of windows, everyone staring curiously at the G63 below.
"Which rich kid’s family do you think is visiting this time?"
"I don’t know. No one’s gotten out of the car yet."
Many people were murmuring amongst themselves, their faces full of curiosity.
"Look! Someone’s getting out... it’s a leg... and it’s so fair!" someone gasped.
Instantly, a chorus of gasps erupted from all around. Like a pack of lechers, they stared intently at Su Miaoke as she stepped out of the car.
When Su Miaoke was fully out of the car, the gasps continued to ripple through the crowd. She was simply stunning.
"Whoa, the driver’s a woman, and she’s gorgeous."
"Holy shit, who’s she here for? Hey, Third, she can’t be here for you, can she?"
A group of guys joked around. For them, having such a stunning woman show up at the dorms was more excitement than they could have asked for.
Then Chu Feng got out, and the guys started talking again.
"Whoa, there’s a guy, too. He’s probably living off her."
"I think so, too. His whole vibe doesn’t match hers at all. He does look pretty beefy, though."
Little did these guys know, Chu Feng had heard every single word of their discussion.
Chu Feng paid them no mind. After all, he wasn’t going to get worked up over a few comments from students.
Su Miaoke wore a pair of sunglasses. She was tall, with a graceful and commanding presence.
In an instant, Su Miaoke had attracted a huge wave of attention. No matter where she went, a trail of male students followed, all dying to know who she was there to see.
When Su Miaoke finally stopped in front of Chu Hao’s dorm room door, everyone’s eyes went wide.
"Room 307... who is she looking for? How did those guys get so lucky?"
"Looks like I’ll have to get friendly with the guys in 307. Maybe there’s a big shot hiding in there."
"Xiao Hao." The moment Su Miaoke walked in, she saw Chu Hao packing his clothes.
"Miaoke, Bro, you’re here already?" Chu Hao’s face lit up with surprise when he saw Su Miaoke and Chu Feng.
"Are you packed? If you’re ready, let’s go home," Chu Feng said.
"All set, all set," Chu Hao said.
"I’m heading out, guys," Chu Hao said, waving goodbye to his roommates as he left.
His roommates had taken good care of him, thanks to some arrangements Su Jun had made beforehand. Because of this, Chu Hao’s life here had been quite comfortable.
As the other students watched Chu Hao walk downstairs, their eyes were filled with envy.
Someone who knew Chu Hao even shouted, "Chu Hao, is that your sister-in-law? She’s gorgeous!"
Hearing this, Su Miaoke laughed and replied, "Thank you for the compliment."
They went downstairs, got in the car, and drove away from the university.
"Bro, Miaoke, why are we going back home?" Chu Hao asked curiously from inside the car.
He didn’t understand why his brother and sister-in-law would suddenly decide to return.
"No big reason. We’re going to see Mom and Dad, and just relax for a bit," Chu Feng said with a smile.
"Your brother-in-law wants to renovate the old family house. That way, it’ll be ready for the wedding over the New Year," Su Miaoke said, smiling.
"Really? That’s fantastic! The place is long overdue for a renovation." Upon hearing this, Chu Hao was so happy he nearly jumped out of his seat.
Now, the whole village knew Chu Feng had made it big. He’d found a wealthy wife, so going back to renovate the old family home was perfectly normal. No one would dare to gossip.
And so, Su Miaoke drove for five consecutive hours. By now, the sky was growing dark.
The setting sun painted the distant horizon a fiery crimson. In Fuhe Village, men and women, old and young, were gathered at the village entrance, idly chatting. Soon, they would all have to head home to prepare dinner.
Watching this scene—the evening sun casting its rays across the valleys and reflecting off the car window—instilled a sense of poignant solitude.
’It was the feeling of his youth, the image of his childhood village.’
’Memories from those years began to surface, bit by bit, from the depths of his mind.’
Before long, someone spotted Chu Feng’s big Benz approaching in the distance.
Fuhe Village was so remote that cars rarely ever came through.
Plus, with the internet so widespread these days, everyone was online. People surfed the web, so they knew a thing or two about cars and other news.
"Hey, isn’t that a Mercedes? A Mercedes G-Wagon!" a middle-aged man said in surprise.
"A Mercedes? Don’t tell me that rascal Chu Feng is back," someone commented.
"Can’t be. This car is different from the one he drove last time he was back," another person added, confused.
Soon, the car pulled up to the village entrance and came to a slow stop.
The village roads were too narrow for the G-Wagon to pass, so they had to park it in the open area at the entrance.
A moment later, Chu Feng stepped out of the car. When the villagers saw it was him, they all looked astonished.
"Hey, it really is Chu Feng!"
"Chu Feng, what brings you back?"
Many of the villagers called out to Chu Feng, greeting him with a familiarity that showed they knew him well.
After all, Chu Feng had grown up in the village and knew everyone.
"Third Uncle, Seventh Uncle, I brought some snacks for you all. Please, share them." After getting out, Chu Feng opened the trunk and took out the food Su Miaoke had packed.
It was all sorts of expensive snacks, the likes of which the villagers had never seen before.
Still, someone recognized them.
"Xiao Feng, these are a high-end brand! I heard this stuff costs several thousand a kilogram!" a young man who spent a lot of time online exclaimed, naturally being more knowledgeable.
"What? No way! This stuff costs several thousand?" The villagers were stunned.
"It’s just something to eat. As long as it tastes good, that’s all that matters," Chu Feng said with a casual smile.
"Chu Feng, you’ve really hit the big time," someone said, clapping him on the shoulder with a grin.
