Chapter 147: Nourishing Source Liquid
"Is someone terminally ill?" Chu Feng continued to ask.
"No, I was just asking out of curiosity. I didn’t expect you to be so incredible, honey," Su Miaoke said with a smile.
"You need to focus on your cultivation too. When the time is right, I’ll figure out a way to help you," Chu Feng said.
What Chu Feng meant by "helping her" was that he wanted to see if Su Miaoke could also practice his method of cultivation.
After all, this was the Dharma Decline Era, and Spiritual Qi was scarce.
Many traditional cultivation methods, including those of the Martial Arts Families, were actually becoming increasingly difficult to practice.
The environment of the world was completely different; the times had changed.
That was why Chu Feng had the idea of passing his own Cultivation System on to Su Miaoke.
However, it wasn’t quite possible at the moment. Of course, once Chu Feng grew more powerful, perhaps he would find a way.
"Huh? Haven’t I been cultivating every day? What? Is there a problem?" Su Miaoke asked, a little surprised and not understanding what Chu Feng meant.
"It’s nothing. Just keep up your cultivation." The two of them drove back to the Bright Moon Mountain Villa and rested for the night.
Throughout the night, Chu Feng hardly rested at all, spending the entire time in cultivation.
For some reason, he felt a sense of urgency deep down, a desire to increase his strength as quickly as possible, as if something was about to happen in the near future.
In truth, regardless of whether something was going to happen, the stronger he was, the better his ability to handle a crisis would be.
The next day, Chu Feng woke up early and roused a still-dreaming Su Miaoke.
"Honey, why are you up so early?" Su Miaoke asked groggily.
"Come on, we’re going to concoct the medicine. You can go back to sleep when we get there," Chu Feng said.
"Concocting medicine again? Haven’t you already failed to make that Nourishing Source Liquid so many times?" Su Miaoke asked, struggling to open her eyes.
"Of course. Failure is the mother of success. By the way, we need to keep buying more medicinal ingredients. We need to fill the entire warehouse," Chu Feng said.
In fact, after thinking about it all night, Chu Feng felt that his failures were likely related to the medicinal properties of the ingredients.
After all, most of the ingredients available now were artificially cultivated and simply lacked the essence of those that grew wild in nature.
Many medicinal ingredients could only gain sufficient efficacy by growing in specific environments where they could absorb the qi of heaven and earth and the essence of the sun and moon.
After quickly washing up, Chu Feng drove to the warehouse.
As soon as he arrived, Chu Feng began concocting the Medicinal Liquid again.
For seven days straight, Chu Feng did nothing but concoct medicine.
He failed again and again, over and over, until he lost count of the failures.
He even blew up several Alchemy Furnaces.
Then, on the morning of the seventh day, Chu Feng suddenly threw open the door to the Alchemy Room.
"Honey, I did it! I successfully concocted it!" Chu Feng exclaimed ecstatically.
Outside, Su Miaoke was dozing in a chair when she heard Chu Feng’s excited shout.
Su Miaoke opened her eyes to see Chu Feng rushing toward her.
A fragrant aroma accompanied him, so refreshing that just one whiff made a person feel relaxed and comfortable all over, as if they had been thoroughly cleansed.
In his hand, Chu Feng held a bottle—one of the ones Boss Jiang had promised to make for him.
"You successfully concocted it?" Su Miaoke asked, a little surprised.
"Yes! Look, it’s all here. Ten drops in total!" Chu Feng held the small Jade Bottle out to Su Miaoke.
The Jade Bottle wasn’t large, probably capable of holding only forty or fifty milliliters. At the bottom was a tiny amount of liquid; it didn’t look like much.
Perhaps just a small mouthful.
"It smells so good! I want to try a sip. Is it drinkable?" Su Miaoke’s eyes lit up as she stared at the Nourishing Source Liquid at the bottom of the bottle.
"Of course it’s drinkable. I made it to be drunk. This is the Nourishing Source Liquid, made specifically for cultivation. With this, your cultivation speed will increase dramatically. But since you’re just starting, you can’t drink too much. One drop, at most," Chu Feng said.
After a solid week of concocting medicine day and night, Chu Feng’s face was covered in stubble. He looked completely disheveled, and his greasy hair resembled a bird’s nest.
"Honey, you’ve been at this for so long. Why don’t you go take a shower and have something to eat first?" Su Miaoke said, her heart aching as she looked at his appearance.
"You haven’t rested for seven days straight, and you’ve barely eaten anything." Su Miaoke was a little worried about Chu Feng’s condition.
"Don’t worry. I’d be fine even if I didn’t eat or drink for seven days. But I definitely need a shower; I feel filthy," Chu Feng said.
Su Miaoke’s concern was understandable. If he hadn’t been worried about making her worry, Chu Feng wouldn’t have eaten a single bite for the past seven days.
After all, she didn’t know that he could go for half a month without food or water and be perfectly fine. Having reached the Foundation Establishment Realm, he was no longer in the category of ordinary people.
"Then you go shower first. I’ll order some food for you," Su Miaoke said.
Chu Feng nodded and went to take a shower.
Meanwhile, Su Miaoke spoke to the security guards at the door, "Go to the hotel across the street and bring all the food over."
"Understood, President Su." One of the guards nodded and was about to go by himself.
"Both of you go together. One person probably won’t be able to carry it all. Once you get it, bring it to my room," Su Miaoke said.
The two guards glanced at each other, confused, but still nodded. "Yes, President Su."
The two men Su Miaoke had hired were less like security guards and more like bodyguards.
Both were retired special forces soldiers with excellent skills, and she paid them a high salary.
The two of them had originally thought their job was to protect Su Miaoke, but they never expected she would just have them watch the front gate.
"She needs both of us just to get some food? Is there a lot?" one of the guards asked, confused.
"Hey, why are you asking so many questions? Big, rich bosses like her love to order tons of dishes when they eat, even if they only take one bite of each. Just like that old demoness, Empress Cixi," the other guard said.
"True. It’s their money, after all."
When the two bodyguards got to the hotel across the street and saw the food they had to pick up, they were completely stunned.
"Holy crap, there’s so much! This has to be a meal for twenty people, right?" Both guards were flabbergasted.
"Hey guys, you must have a lot of people at your factory to need this much food. I never see anyone coming or going, though," a hotel staff member asked curiously.
"Don’t ask questions you’re not supposed to. Is this everything? Get us two large carts," one of the guards said coldly.
Hearing this, the staff member pursed his lips, his face a mask of annoyance.
