Chapter 135: Miracle
Although that guy was also from a Martial Arts Family, his particular status meant he wasn’t very familiar with people like Zhao Qinghan.
"Those two are Chu Feng and Su Miaoke. Keep an eye on them. If they make the slightest move against the young master, take them out immediately!" Not far away, two men were monitoring every move at the stall.
They were clearly protecting Zhou Ming. After all, he was one of the few heirs to the Zhou Family.
"Right. But it looks like the young master is safe for now."
"We can’t let our guard down. You keep watch here. I’m going to go check on those two."
Chu Feng got a cart and pushed the dozens of raw stones over to the stone-cutting station.
The owner happened to be free, and his face lit up the moment he saw Chu Feng.
"Boss, looks like you’ve picked out a lot of good stuff this time, huh?" the owner asked with a smile, eyeing Chu Feng’s cart full of raw stones.
"They’re not bad. Could you please have the master cut them all for me?" Chu Feng said.
"You got it! Boss, why don’t you have a seat for a moment? I’ll get you a pen so you can mark the cutting lines, and then I’ll cut them for you one by one." The shop’s old master craftsman was beaming.
’This is a huge order.’
Chu Feng smiled and nodded. "Then I’ll be troubling you, Master. If they yield a lot of jade, I’ll pay you double the processing fee."
Hearing this, the jade cutter was so happy he nearly jumped for joy.
"Then allow me to wish you a great haul in advance, Boss," the jade cutter said happily.
With that, he picked up a stone that Chu Feng had already marked and began to cut.
Before long, the cutter cried out in excitement, "Boss, we’ve struck jade! And it’s the icy variety!"
Chu Feng glanced over, gave a faint smile, and said, "Please continue, Master."
In truth, Chu Feng already knew whether or not it would yield jade.
Su Miaoke, who was standing to the side, was thrilled to see this. ’I never thought Chu Feng’s instincts would be so accurate!’
’With this kind of talent, if he dedicated himself to buying and cutting jade, wouldn’t he make an absolute fortune?’
She had never imagined Chu Feng could possess such an incredible skill.
Chu Feng had already shocked Su Miaoke once with his skill at gambling, and now he had stunned her all over again with his stone gambling.
As time went on, the stone cutter finished cutting over a dozen raw stones.
Without a single exception, every last one of them yielded jade.
This left the stone cutter completely dumbfounded; he had never seen anything like it.
He kept cutting, and more jade kept appearing.
One had to remember that Chu Feng had only been here twice, and he had struck jade on his very first visit.
And now, on his second visit, he’d brought over thirty raw stones, and incredibly, every single one had contained jade.
Anyone who witnessed this would have been utterly shocked.
"Boss, you’re truly incredible! Over thirty stones in a row, and every single one has jade. How can you tell? I’ve been in this trade for forty years, and I’ve never seen anyone as skilled as you," the old jade cutter said admiringly.
He was in his late fifties, almost sixty, and considered himself a veteran of the jade industry. He had seen plenty, but he had truly never encountered anyone like Chu Feng.
"You flatter me, Master. I just buy them at random. I guess my luck has just been really good lately," Chu Feng said with a smile.
Just then, Zhou Ming happened to come over, curious to see how much jade Chu Feng had managed to find.
When he saw the table covered in jade, his eyes went wide. "Boss Chu, this is incredible!" he said in astonishment. "They all contained jade?"
"Just luck, that’s all. Pure luck, Boss Zhou," Chu Feng replied. "By the way, when do you think your raw stones will be ready?"
"It’ll probably be a little while longer. I’ll let you know as soon as they arrive, Boss Chu. I have to say, I’m impressed. You’ve really got a knack for this," Zhou Ming said.
"Stone gambling is just like any other form of gambling. It all comes down to luck, to fate. After all, who can possibly see what’s grown inside a rock?" Chu Feng said.
"Mm, that’s true enough. It’s certainly not easy to see inside a stone—in fact, it’s practically impossible," Zhou Ming said with a nod.
Even for someone from a Martial Arts Family, and even with relatives who had been in the jade business for many years, it was impossible. The human eye simply wasn’t capable of seeing through a raw stone.
In truth, while ordinary people couldn’t see inside, that didn’t mean cultivators couldn’t.
Of course, one would have to reach a certain level of power before that became possible.
After all, without achieving that level of power, trying to see through a stone was little more than a pipe dream.
Once all the raw stones were cut, Chu Feng paid double the processing fee, just as he had promised.
As for the cut jade, Chu Feng took it directly to one of the venue’s dedicated temporary storage services.
Several powerful organizations had set up these storage depots, allowing people to safely store their jade for a fee. The level of security was said to be exceptionally high.
If the jade were to be damaged or stolen, the company would provide compensation for its full value, no matter how high.
And so, Chu Feng and Su Miaoke continued to browse the convention until noon.
Since Zhao Liu hadn’t called, Chu Feng took Su Miaoke out of the convention center to find a place to eat.
The crowd grew in the afternoon, likely because some people had traveled from far away or simply hadn’t woken up in time for the morning session.
More people meant happy stall owners, but of course, it also meant that more fakes began to appear.
This gave Chu Feng fewer and fewer opportunities to make a purchase, to the point where he didn’t even feel like trying anymore.
’It was pointless; there was nothing of value.’
Suddenly, he got a call from Zhou Ming. "Boss Chu, get over here quick! My shipment just arrived, and a lot of people are trying to grab it. Come see how much you want; I’ll try my best to save some for you."
From the sound of it, Zhou Ming was in a real hurry.
Word had already spread that his stall’s stones were yielding a lot of jade, so many people were now crowding around it, hoping to snatch some up.
"Alright, I’m on my way," Chu Feng said with a nod, immediately leading Su Miaoke toward Zhou Ming’s stall.
By the time they reached Zhou Ming’s stall, it was completely surrounded. A quick glance revealed at least several dozen people, perhaps even close to a hundred.
Chu Feng and Su Miaoke couldn’t get through at all; there were simply too many people.
"Forget it. We’ll try again next time. We can just contact him later. Besides, the auction will probably be starting soon," Chu Feng said.
"Yeah, the auction will probably have better things anyway," Su Miaoke agreed with a nod.
She had barely finished speaking when a call came in from Zhao Liu.
Zhao Liu’s cheerful voice came through the phone. "Brother Chu, have you eaten yet? Why don’t you come upstairs and join us for a meal?"
"I just ate, thanks. When is the auction set to begin?" Chu Feng asked.
