Chapter 85: Class Reunion
When he arrived at the hospital, Chu Feng went to check on his younger brother.
Thanks to the Merit Chu Feng had given him, which had converted into good fortune, Chu Hao’s injuries were no longer life-threatening. He just needed some time to rest and recuperate.
"Just focus on recovering here. I’ve taken care of everything else. Wait until you’re healed before you go see Mom and Dad," Chu Feng said.
Chu Hao looked at his older brother, his eyes turning a little red.
He knew he had come so close to never seeing his brother again.
He hadn’t expected his brother to rush to Zhongnan City the moment he heard the news, and even bring him all the way to Beihai City.
On the way here, he had overheard the driver mention some of the things Chu Feng had done in Zhongnan City, so he had a rough idea of what his brother had gone through for his sake.
"Bro, you have to be okay. You’re the only brother I have," Chu Hao said, gripping Chu Feng’s hand.
Chu Feng was taken aback by Chu Hao’s words.
He felt a sting in his own nose.
’That’s right. He’s the only brother I have, too.’
"Don’t worry, I’ll be fine. You’ll be going to school in Beihai from now on. If anyone dares to bully you, just tell me, and I’ll take care of them for you!" Chu Feng said.
He doted on his younger brother and would absolutely not allow anyone to bully him.
Just then, Su Miaoke walked in, carrying a lot of food.
"How are you doing? Feeling any better?" Su Miaoke asked with great concern.
Ever since Chu Hao was transferred to Beihai City yesterday, Su Miaoke had been diligently arranging every last detail.
She even fed him his meals personally.
"I’m much better, Sister-in-law," Chu Hao said, his eyes still red.
"Just focus on getting better and don’t overthink things. If you need anything, just tell me. If there’s something you want to eat, call me and I’ll make it for you," Su Miaoke said caringly.
Chu Hao nodded.
After visiting his brother, Chu Feng and Su Miaoke returned to the company.
Tang Chuxia was recuperating in her villa when a phone call left her completely stunned.
"The Chen Family of Zhongnan City was wiped out? And Chu Feng did it again?" Tang Chuxia exclaimed in astonishment.
"I’ll discuss this with my family. Don’t make any rash moves for now," Tang Chuxia said.
...
The next few days passed peacefully. No one came looking for trouble, and no other incidents occurred.
Aside from work, Chu Feng spent his time with his parents or focused on his own Cultivation.
Sometimes, he would also spar with Zhao Quan and Zhao Qinghan.
By now, Chu Feng had become quite familiar with them.
Inside Zhao Liu’s villa, Chu Feng and Zhao Qinghan were sparring.
After they finished, Zhao Qinghan asked, "Chu Feng, do you really have no connection to the Chu Family?"
"None at all. I’ve never even been to the Chu Family’s estate," Chu Feng said.
"Is that so?" Zhao Qinghan asked, a hint of disbelief in her voice.
"Yeah," Chu Feng said with a nod.
"Then why do you know the Chu Family’s Taiqing Palm Skill?" Zhao Qinghan asked.
"Oh, that? I just practiced it on my own. It was in a book my grandfather left behind, so I taught myself," Chu Feng said.
"I see," Zhao Qinghan nodded.
"Is there a problem?" Chu Feng asked.
"Not at all. I was just asking," Zhao Qinghan said with a smile.
Looking at Zhao Qinghan’s smile, Chu Feng sighed internally.
’Are all the young women from Martial Arts Families this beautiful? First Tang Chuxia, and now Zhao Qinghan... They’re both gorgeous.’
’I wonder if the Martial Arts Families of the past made a point of marrying beautiful women. Maybe after all these years, their genes are just superior.’
As they were talking, Chu Feng’s phone rang.
He glanced at the caller ID and was a little surprised. It was an old classmate.
"Feng? What’s up? What made you call me out of the blue?" Chu Feng said after answering the phone.
"Crazy, are you still in Beihai?" Chu Feng’s college classmate, Gao Feng, said.
"I am. What’s up?" Chu Feng asked.
"Well, a bunch of us classmates who are in Beihai are planning to have a get-together. It’s tonight at eight. Are you free to come? We haven’t seen each other in years since graduation, so we thought we’d all catch up."
"Tonight at eight?" Chu Feng asked.
"Eight p.m. at the Beihai Hotel. We’re all getting together. A lot of our old classmates will be there," Gao Feng said from the other end of the line.
"Sure. It really has been a long time. Five years since we parted ways," Chu Feng said, feeling a wave of nostalgia.
Five years had passed in the blink of an eye. Five years wasn’t long, but it wasn’t short, either. So much had changed.
"Alright, and I’ll let you in on a little secret: our class beauty is coming to the reunion too. Weren’t you trying to woo her back in the day?" Gao Feng snickered over the phone.
"Alright, enough of that nonsense. I’ll be there on time tonight," Chu Feng cut him off.
Then, the two of them hung up.
"Someone asking you to dinner? An old flame?" Zhao Qinghan asked.
"What old flame? It’s a class reunion," Chu Feng said.
"A class reunion? I’m so jealous," Zhao Qinghan sighed.
"Why? You’re jealous of that? You can have a reunion with your classmates too," Chu Feng said, a bit confused.
"What classmates?" Zhao Qinghan said helplessly.
"No way. You don’t have any classmates? Did you not go to school?" Chu Feng was shocked.
"I did, but school for us is different from yours. We all had one-on-one tutors. So besides other members of the family, we don’t really have classmates," Zhao Qinghan explained.
"As expected of a rich family. Even your schooling is one-on-one private tutoring," Chu Feng sighed.
’The education of the rich and the poor are on completely different levels.’
"That’s how all of us were schooled," Zhao Qinghan said.
"Doesn’t that mean you have no time for yourselves? Just Cultivation and studying?" Chu Feng said.
"Compared to ordinary people, definitely. You all had happy childhoods. We didn’t have a childhood. All we had was endless Cultivation and studying. It was dull, bitter, and exhausting," Zhao Qinghan said.
This was the way of the Martial Arts Families. To prevent the Martial Dao from declining, to prevent their families from falling, the children of the family had to undergo all sorts of training and Cultivation from a young age.
They would begin preliminary Cultivation at just a few years old and continue until adulthood. It could be said they endured more than twenty years of hardship.
This was something an ordinary person could never even begin to imagine.
For a Martial Cultivator, it was common to train until your skin tore from your flesh and your bones fractured.
The hardships Zhao Qinghan and the others had endured to make it this far, to be standing before Chu Feng now, were probably too numerous to recount in a short time.
But as long as they made it through, they could enjoy a good life. The family’s resources would be tilted in their favor, and their status would be incredibly high.
Usually, they would be dispatched to various places to take over some of the family’s businesses.
