My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building

Chapter 63: Tang Chuxia

As he thought about it, the doctor began to wonder if he was dreaming or having a severe hallucination.

"Really? Doctor, you’re not lying to me, are you?" Su Miaoke asked again, finding it hard to believe.

"It’s true. Your brother is fine. He just needs to rest and recuperate," the doctor said, nodding with a hint of uncertainty.

"Okay, that’s wonderful. This is truly wonderful," Su Miaoke said, overjoyed.

Inside the hospital room, a wave of relief washed over everyone when they heard the news.

"This hospital is so irresponsible, giving such a careless diagnosis," Su Miaoke’s mother said with a look of displeasure.

"It’s okay, Mom. He’s fine now, right? Let’s not dwell on it," Su Miaoke consoled her mother.

As far as everyone else was concerned, the doctor had simply made a misdiagnosis.

In reality, however, Su Miaoke knew. ’This most likely has something to do with Chu Feng.’

At present, Su Jun was basically fine. He was still in a coma, but the injuries all over his body had almost completely healed.

With Su Jun out of danger, Su Linsheng and his wife finally breathed a huge sigh of relief and began chatting happily with Chu Feng’s parents.

Around noon, Chu Feng finally brought his parents back to the villa.

Su Linsheng and Su Miaoke’s mother remained at the hospital to look after Su Jun, not daring to leave his side for a moment.

After having lunch at home, Chu Feng and Su Miaoke both went back to work.

Su Miaoke needed to return to the office to handle some things, and Chu Feng’s parents insisted he go with her to work properly instead of just idling around.

Having no other choice, Chu Feng had to go to the company as well.

He had wanted to spend some quality time with his parents, but unfortunately, they weren’t having it.

Chu Feng drove, with Su Miaoke in the passenger seat.

"Honey, you helped me out in a huge way again. Thank you," Su Miaoke said, looking at Chu Feng with deep affection.

Then, while Chu Feng was waiting at a red light, she planted a firm kiss on his cheek, leaving behind a lipstick print.

"There you go again. We’re a married couple; family doesn’t need to be so formal. But about you donating five hundred million worth of the company’s supplies today... your dad won’t have a problem with that, will he? Won’t it affect the company’s operations?" Chu Feng asked.

"It’s fine. It was a charitable donation, so my dad will support my decision. It will have some impact on the company, but not a major one. Besides, now that my brother is okay, he won’t be concerned about it," Su Miaoke said.

"Good, then," Chu Feng said with a nod.

Then, his expression turned grave. "I think there’s something strange about what happened to your brother. I suspect foul play."

"Hm? Foul play? Who would do that?" Su Miaoke’s expression darkened at his words.

"First my incident at sea, and now your brother’s car crash... We can’t be that unlucky. I think someone is targeting us. It could be the Tang Family. You remember Tang Lin, right?" Chu Feng said.

"Yes, but isn’t he dead?" Su Miaoke asked with a nod.

"The Tang Family is a major family, after all. There’s no way they’d just let Tang Lin’s death go," Chu Feng said.

"But if they did it, why are we unharmed? And why target my brother?" Su Miaoke asked, confused.

"They’ll probably come after us next. My guess is the only reason they haven’t made a move yet is because of the Zhao Family," Chu Feng explained.

"Then what do we do?" Su Miaoke asked worriedly.

"Don’t worry for now. Let’s just carry on as usual. I’m sure the Zhao Family won’t let them off the hook so easily. We’ll wait and see," Chu Feng said.

「Meanwhile.」

Inside Zhao Liu’s luxurious villa, Zhao Qinghan’s expression was icy, while Zhao Quan’s face was a mask of fury.

"Sister Qinghan, I told you! Those bastards from the Tang Family are no good. We should just fight them directly. Is our Zhao Family actually afraid of them?"

Zhao Qinghan’s delicate eyebrows furrowed slightly. "How could our Zhao Family be afraid of them? But in terms of overall strength, the Qing Gang is indeed a step above us. Besides, we’re just here for a short visit. Starting a huge fight with them wouldn’t be a wise move. We should keep as low a profile as possible. At next year’s Grand Martial Dao Assembly, we definitely won’t let them off!"

"As for Tang Chuxia, I will go and warn her. If anything like this happens again, the Zhao Family is no pushover, not someone they can just mess with!" Zhao Qinghan said icily.

"Then hurry up, Sister Qinghan! All that talk about Tang Chuxia keeping her word... I think they’re all cut from the same cloth. The people from the Qing Gang are completely unscrupulous; there are hardly any good people among them," Zhao Quan said, looking displeased.

Though the Qing Gang was well-known, it was actually looked down upon by many other Sects and factions.

This was because the Qing Gang specialized in using poison, which other Martial Arts Families considered a low-down, dirty tactic.

Zhao Qinghan dialed Tang Chuxia’s number.

At that moment, Tang Chuxia was on a rooftop, deep in Cultivation with her eyes closed in meditation.

She received a call from Zhao Qinghan.

"Hello?" Tang Chuxia said.

"It’s me, Zhao Qinghan," came the voice from the other end of the line.

"Zhao Qinghan? What is it? Do you need something?" Tang Chuxia asked.

"Zhao Liu’s house. I’ll be waiting for you," Zhao Qinghan said.

"Half an hour," Tang Chuxia replied.

Half an hour later, Tang Chuxia arrived alone at Zhao Liu’s luxurious villa.

Zhao Quan was waiting at the door, and his expression soured the moment he saw Tang Chuxia get out of her car.

"Miss Tang, your Tang Family certainly has a long reach," Zhao Quan said coldly.

"I don’t know what you’re talking about. Where is Zhao Qinghan?" Tang Chuxia replied.

With that, she walked straight into the villa, not even deigning to give Zhao Quan a second glance.

Inside the villa, Zhao Qinghan was already waiting.

"What do you want from me?" Tang Chuxia asked, getting straight to the point.

Zhao Qinghan gave a faint, humorless smile and, not one to beat around the bush either, said directly, "Your Tang Family certainly is capable. Such impressive methods. To think you even dared to move against us."

"Oh? And what does that have to do with the Tang Family? Does anyone have proof?" Tang Chuxia asked coolly.

"Evidence is the kind of thing you can always find if you look hard enough. Aren’t you afraid of what will happen if you push us too far? It won’t be easy to resolve things then," Zhao Qinghan said.

"Is that so? I’d actually like to see what you look like when you’re pushed too far, Zhao Qinghan. You almost died at sea. What does that have to do with the Tang Family? Not a single thing. You went out there on your own. Even if someone did try to harm you, it must have been one of your own people," Tang Chuxia retorted.

"We have more than enough evidence that it was Tang Mu who arranged for the people that tried to kill us. What? Are you, Tang Chuxia, really going to try and protect him?" Zhao Qinghan said coldly.
