My Slime Wife: Training and Pampering Her Makes Me Stronger

Chapter 92: How to Break the Dungeon Boss’s Armor

Lydia raised one of her hands and pointed her index finger at the enormous alligator slowly making its way through the swampy lake.

Her eyes were fixed on the monster’s yellow ones.

Liam, standing beside her, shook his head.

"Don’t aim directly at it."

Lydia lowered her hand slightly.

"Why?"

"Because we have to use every tool at our disposal."

Lydia looked at him curiously.

"What do you mean?"

Liam turned his head toward Chuck.

"It’s time for you to use the bullets I gave you."

Chuck smiled.

He pulled a pack of chewing gum from one of his pockets, took a piece, and put it in his mouth.

He began chewing it vigorously.

"I’ve been waiting for this moment."

Liam smiled.

"Lydia, aim your Laser Shot at the bullet Chuck throws. We have to take advantage of the fact that he never misses."

"Understood."

Liam then looked toward Emily.

"Are you okay?"

The woman gave him a thumbs-up.

"I’m perfectly fine."

"Then get ready to send another blast once we manage to open a hole in that mud armor."

Emily raised one hand to her forehead in a small military salute.

"Understood."

The water began rippling again.

The alligator started moving toward them once more.

Its enormous jaws emerged above the surface, wide open, as if it intended to devour everything in its path.

Liam took a few steps backward.

"When you’re ready, attack. Don’t wait for any signal."

Chuck blew a huge bubble with his chewing gum.

Emily looked at him in annoyance.

"Can you stop making so much noise with your gum?"

Chuck popped the bubble.

"I need to concentrate to throw the bullet."

"But your awakening literally means you never miss."

"I know."

Chuck smiled.

"But I feel awesome doing it."

Emily sighed.

The alligator continued approaching.

Its yellow eyes glowed beneath the layer of dirty water.

Then Chuck did something none of the others expected.

He turned around, completely facing away from the lake.

"What are you doing?"

Lydia asked.

Chuck didn’t answer. He pulled out one of the gem bullets Liam had given him. He held it between two fingers and stared at it for a few seconds.

The small crystal looked completely harmless.

Chuck smiled.

"Let’s see what you can do."

The alligator’s roar echoed throughout the swamp.

The creature was practically on top of them.

Emily shouted:

"Chuck! We don’t have all day!"

Chuck raised the bullet.

"Lydia, don’t miss your shot."

"What?"

Chuck bent his legs, and his entire stance changed.

He looked like a baseball player preparing to throw a ball.

Then he threw the bullet.

But not at the alligator.

He threw it in the opposite direction, away from the lake.

Lydia’s eyes widened.

"Do you know what you’re doing? You threw it the other way!"

Chuck simply laughed.

"Try hitting it when the bullet comes back around."

Lydia blinked.

"What?"

But there was no time to argue.

Lydia raised both hands again and formed a small gun with her fingers.

She aimed at the gem bullet.

"Come on..."

The small bullet slowly traveled through the air.

Lydia took a deep breath.

[Laser Shot]

A red beam shot from the tip of her index finger.

The laser tore through the air and struck the gem directly.

Then the crystal began to glow.

The energy from the Laser Shot was absorbed by the bullet.

The gem took on an intense red color.

Chuck smiled.

"I knew it would work."

Liam looked at him.

"Why are you so calm?"

Chuck burst out laughing.

"Because your plan is insane."

The bullet continued moving.

Then it turned.

Its trajectory changed completely.

Now it was heading straight toward the alligator.

Liam smiled.

"There it is."

Emily immediately understood.

"Now?"

"Get ready."

The creature was already on top of them.

Liam grabbed Lydia by the arm and started running.

"Move!"

Chuck ran behind them.

Emily moved to the side.

The alligator opened its jaws.

Its teeth passed mere inches from the hunters as its enormous head emerged from the water.

But this time, its entire body emerged.

And then they could see it.

The mud armor covered practically every inch of its body.

It was a thick, irregular, hardened layer that made the alligator look like a creature made of rock and mud.

Lydia stared at it in surprise.

"It’s huge..."

"Now!"

The gem bullet struck, and the red crystal pierced through the armor.

A huge amount of mud was blasted away.

However, the layer was so thick that it managed to absorb much of the impact.

The bullet stopped inside the alligator’s body.

Chuck’s eyes widened.

"That was more mud than I expected."

Liam shouted:

"Emily!"

The hunter was already prepared.

Electricity coursed through her arms.

Emily ran toward the shore and placed both hands on the water.

A gigantic electrical discharge tore across the lake.

The current followed the water until it reached the hole the bullet had opened in the armor.

Then it happened.

The gem bullet exploded.

The explosion raised an enormous cloud of smoke inside the armor.

And the electrical discharge arrived at that exact moment.

BOOM!

A second explosion shook the swamp.

The alligator roared, and the water rose several meters into the air.

Chuck placed a hand on Liam’s shoulder.

"It worked."

Liam smiled.

"I told you it would work."

Lydia looked at the monster.

"Can I consume it now?"

Liam opened his mouth to answer.

But his eyes suddenly widened.

"Wait!"

Too late.

The water beneath Emily began to move.

The alligator’s jaws appeared right beneath her.

"Emily!"

The woman barely had time to look down.

"Shit!"

She tried to disappear in a flash of electricity.

But nothing happened.

Emily’s eyes widened.

"What...?"

Her power didn’t respond.

The jaws began to close.

"It’s not working!"

Lydia reacted.

Several tentacles shot out from her body and struck Emily, pushing her several meters backward.

Emily fell onto the mud.

But the movement left Lydia exposed.

The enormous jaws closed around her tentacles.

CRACK!

"Lydia."

Liam gritted his teeth.

The alligator raised its head, taking several meters of Lydia’s gelatinous body with it, trapped between its teeth.

"Use your acid!"

Lydia activated her ability.

[Acid]

A substance began separating from her body.

The acid fell into the alligator’s mouth.

The creature immediately reacted.

"RRAAAAAAAAGH!"

It opened its jaws.

Lydia retracted her tentacles, and they returned to her body.

But then something even more important happened.

Some of the acid had fallen onto the alligator’s body.

The mud began bubbling, and the thick armor slowly started to dissolve.

Liam’s eyes widened.

"That’s it!"

The alligator began thrashing.

The mud covering its body peeled away in large chunks and fell into the water.

Lydia stared at the boss’s body.

"The acid is destroying its armor..."

Liam smiled.

"Exactly."

The creature roared again in pain.

And they could clearly see the monster’s true skin beneath the mud.

Lydia smiled.

"Now we can actually hurt it."

Liam raised his pistol.

"Now we can, honey."

The alligator slammed its enormous tail against the water, sending a wave rushing toward them.

The boss’s armor was disappearing.

But the battle wasn’t over yet.
