She wore long sakura-red hair, a white shirt that seemed intended to prove her maturity, black hot pants, and those little height-adding leather shoes.
Honestly, from Tang Keren’s perspective as a former idol trainee, it didn’t suit her temperament very well.
She really was very pretty, like a doll, just a little timid, with a flat chest—she’d look much better in cute styles.
But under the sunlight, those sakura-red eyes and hair, the Soul Gem at her chest, and that bright smile shone so vividly, as if there were no shadows at all. It was so bright it nearly etched Tang Keren and Zihan into memory.
In truth, besides that, their first cycle together hadn’t involved anything particularly special; compared to many later first meetings, it wasn’t that different.
And as a magical girl, that girl was a bit clumsy—her limbs and the way she channeled magic weren’t very coordinated. When danger came she’d flail and shout, “I’ll fight with you!” and swing her staff around wildly.
So every time they took turns playing the red-and-white roles, keeping her from joining expeditions to the Outer Realm, trying to force her to stay inside and attend school, to keep her out of danger.
She would always be resentful, puffing out her cheeks like a goldfish, then run off by herself to search for Fragments of Hope.
And so the world repeated, little by little.
