“Oh, Seo Hoyun, you’re here?”
The overseas location for the film Midnight Protocol was a set designed to look like a New York subway station.
The actual filming would begin tomorrow, but since they said to come take a look at the set first, I followed along—and the scale was impressive.
“How is it, awesome set, right?”
The scene was one where the NIS agent ‘Baek Sunwoo’ chases a woman carrying classified documents through a subway station, but then ends up being pursued himself by agents from another organization.
In danger of being killed, he answers a call from an unknown number—
a call from ‘Han’, the character I play.
“—Yes, it’s impressive.”
They had recreated an entire subway station inside the studio.
The scene involved Baek Sunwoo, following Han’s directions, weaving through a dense crowd in a state of tension. The realism of the set would definitely help the immersion.
As I looked around at the latest cameras and film equipment, I couldn’t help but think how different they were from the ones used in variety shows.
The director, absorbed in the viewfinder, finally looked up, startled, and shouted.
