Neo stood firm as Sana’s shout cut through the air.
"Uncle Hans! You promised you would protect me and my sisters after Father’s death!"
Hans threw his head back and laughed, the sound loud and ugly.
"That was a lie. I was the one who killed your father. A demon helped me. After I got rid of him I passed the demon’s test, and now he gave me this power."

Neo shifted his stance and charged the sword a second time, this time with holy pyro. The two energies fought inside the steel for a second, then settled into a hard white-black glow. He lunged. "Lean down."
He bent. She rose on her toes and kissed his cheek.

She pointed at two of the knights.
"You two guard my daughter at all times. The rest of you go outside and find the corpse."

The queen only nodded.
