Neo stood in the heart of the dungeon chamber, blood dripping from a dozen cuts across his chest and arms. The Minotaur loomed in front of him, a mountain of muscle and rage, its massive axe swinging in wide arcs that cracked the stone floor with every miss. Neo’s boots cracked against the Minotaur’s ribs. The Minotaur’s fists hammered Neo’s guard hard enough to numb his arms. Sweat and blood mixed on Neo’s skin. His breath came in harsh gasps. Every muscle burned. This was the longest, hardest fight he had ever endured.
At last Neo found an opening. He slipped inside the Minotaur’s reach, drove an uppercut into its jaw, and followed with a spinning kick that sent the beast crashing onto its back. Pinky floated to his side, her small face tired but proud. Together they left the dungeon. The stone corridors gave way to open air, then to the familiar path that led toward Nyx Castle. Neo walked in silence, body still aching from the fight even after the potions. Pinky stayed close, occasionally glancing up at him as if checking that he was still in one piece.
They entered the castle gates and crossed the main hall. Neo went straight to Veya’s workshop. She looked up from her workbench as he approached. He held out the advanced robot core he had obtained.
