Chapter 273: Sensing the Wei Ruins
Xu Ying and Yuan Weiyang activated the Primordial Dao All Heavens Sensing, mobilizing the Divine Sense Immortal Elixir within their Yellow Court Cave Heavens. They transformed it into an even more majestic Divine Sense, allowing them to perceive one heaven after another.
The acupoints all over Xu Ying’s Flesh Body resonated with the great All Heavens. He gradually felt wondrous streams of power surging from them, filling his various acupoints and enhancing their strength.
Yuan Weiyang, however, used these powers for the Contemplation of Deities within her acupoints; her cultivation method was different from his.
Their Divine Senses resonated in the Void, colliding and merging. Gradually, they seeped deeper into the Void, discovering even more of the All Heavens.
However, just as Yuan Weiyang had said, more than just the Ancestral Dragon was buried in the Lishan Mausoleum!
When they used Celestial-Human Communication, they immediately saw that the already chaotic Lishan Mausoleum was filled with powerful resentment, fury, hatred, and blood!
They sensed countless skeletons buried within the mountains. They sensed that the Immortal Mountains in the sky had become the hearts, livers, spleens, lungs, and kidneys of the Pre-Qin Great Qi Refiners, floating in the air, dripping with blood!
They also sensed the Great Qi Refiners who had died unjustly. Their Primordial Spirits had been refined into the spirits of Magical Treasures. Bearing an endless aura of curses and resentment, they hid in the dark corners of the mountains, ambushing and assassinating everyone who dared to enter the Imperial Mausoleum!
To call the Lishan Mausoleum a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood would be no exaggeration!
These forces stirred, interfering with Xu Ying and Yuan Weiyang, attempting to devour and assimilate their Divine Senses. However, the acupoints throughout Xu Ying and Yuan Weiyang’s Flesh Bodies were connected to the All Heavens. Not even the vengeful souls of Great Qi Refiners could shake their Divine Senses.
Suddenly, Xu Ying’s and Yuan Weiyang’s bodies both trembled violently. At that moment, their Divine Senses encountered an immense, attractive force!
Within the vision of their Divine Sense, the sky spun and the earth tilted. An incomparably splendid crack in the sky entered their view.
Hidden within the crack was an Exotic Realm of Space-Time, beautiful beyond compare. It had floating Immortal Mountains and brilliant Immortal Light. Within that light were the Celestial Palaces of Immortals, just like a true Immortal Realm!
Their Divine Senses were involuntarily pulled toward the crack in the sky, gradually beginning to spiral out of control!
The two hurriedly reached out to the All Heavens. The acupoints all over their Flesh Bodies tensed as their connection with the All Heavens grew even stronger. They fought to control their Divine Senses, trying to prevent their fall into the other Space-Time from accelerating to an uncontrollable speed.
Suddenly, their palms tightened, and they couldn’t help but grasp each other’s hands, as if to give themselves courage.
Not far away, Uncle Xiao saw this and raised an eyebrow. He immediately averted his gaze, feigning deep contemplation and pretending he hadn’t seen a thing. He thought to himself, ‘Back in the Divine Capital, forget just holding hands, they were making out every day, thinking I didn’t see. I suppose my old eyes really must be failing me…’
As Xu Ying and Yuan Weiyang drew closer to the crack, the sky vanished from their vision. It was replaced by an impossibly long and narrow Abyss flanked by sheer cliffs. The cliffs were covered in all sorts of grotesque flesh, with scales clinging to them!
But the Immortal Realm was at the end of the Abyss, so close, as if it were calling to them!
The two did everything in their power to control the speed of their Divine Senses’ descent. As they delved deeper, they seemed to startle the life within the Abyss. All at once, on the fleshy walls on both sides of the chasm, eyes of all sizes opened and stared at them!
Some of these eyes showed terror, some curiosity, others anger, joy, and schadenfreude. But most of all, there was despair, despair, and more despair!
Xu Ying and Yuan Weiyang’s hearts pounded with fear as they continued to fall toward the “Immortal Realm.” Suddenly, they saw a figure clinging to the steep cliff face.
He was a man covered in blood. His limbs and fingers had morphed into fan-shaped masses of flesh. This flesh dug into every crevice in the cliff, struggling to grow upward as it arduously dragged the man’s body, inch by inch, away from the depths!
“Get back!”
The man seemed able to “see” their Divine Senses. He strained to lift his head and yelled to them, “Ahead is the hopeless dead end of the Wei Ruins!”
BANG!
He was dragged by some force, sliding toward the “Immortal Realm.” The flesh of his transformed limbs and fingers was stretched to the breaking point, constantly snapping. He slid for thousands of feet before managing to stabilize himself and resume his arduous climb.
Their scalps went numb with horror. They looked toward the two walls of the incomparably vast Abyss, and only then did they see countless figures crawling like ants!
Countless people were trying with all their might to climb out of this Abyss!
‘Are these people the Qi Refiners from the Great Han Period who practiced Celestial-Human Communication?’
Xu Ying and Yuan Weiyang’s Divine Senses trembled. Suddenly, they felt a powerful and boundless consciousness from within the Abyss connect with their own Divine Senses.
The moment they made contact, that deep and boundless consciousness unveiled for them the many wonders of the Immortal Realm at the end of the Abyss.
At that moment, their Divine Senses felt Heaven and Earth Fall Down. All sorts of insights into Daoist Techniques flooded their minds. They felt light and ethereal, as if they were Ascending. Suddenly, the mortal world seemed like hell, all emotions like filth, and all happiness like worthless chaff. Only by Ascending to the Immortal Realm at the end of the Abyss could they attain the greatest, most eternal joy!
“Run—”
Xu Ying suddenly transmitted a thought to Yuan Weiyang. Their Divine Senses immediately changed direction and flew upward.
Just then, a world-shattering roar erupted. A series of sharp cracks echoed from the Immortal Realm at the end of the Abyss. In a fleeting glimpse, their Divine Senses saw the Abyss expanding and splitting apart!
An indescribably huge eye appeared at the end of the Abyss and fixed its gaze upon them.
Within that incomparably vast eye, countless Immortals drifted aimlessly.
Suddenly, an Immortal’s body pressed against the surface of the pupil, revealing a deathly pale face.
