The young man, Shi Jingtang, was both shocked and delighted, and he hurriedly kowtowed.

Shi Mo Lei coughed up a mouthful of blood and hissed, "I was favored by the heavens and obtained the most mysterious of the Six Secrets—the Spring Secret Treasury! I thought I would dominate the world and become a peerless Venerable, but I never imagined someone would burn away my Vitality! I hate it! I hate it so much!"

Blood flowed ceaselessly from his mouth, and he fainted once more.

The members of the Shi Family were horrified. They immediately whipped the women of the Zhou Family, ordering them to do everything in their power to save him.

Meanwhile, Xu Ying and Guo Xiaodie went to the Zhao Family's estate, only to find that the two Zhao Family ancestors were also gravely injured.

These two ancestors had clashed head-on with Elder Guo. They had both opened the Jiang Palace Secret Treasury, one of the Six Secrets of the Human Body, and specialized in cultivating strength. The impact of their collision had nearly shattered the two Zhao Clan ancestors' Five Viscera and fractured their Mysterious Domains.

As for their Flesh Bodies, jagged shards of broken bone had pierced through the skin on their backs.

They had captured several members of the Zhou Family from who-knows-where to treat their injuries.

"The two Zhao Family ancestors won't be thinking about coming out to capture and eat me for a while," Xu Ying said with a smile.

Guo Xiaodie laughed. "After tonight's events, which Noble Family's ancestor would dare make a move against you?"

Xu Ying roared with laughter.

Before they knew it, they had reached the Imperial Palace. Full of enthusiasm, Xu Ying started to barge inside, but Guo Xiaodie quickly stopped him. She jutted her chin toward the entrance and said, "This place is guarded by Gate Gods from the Lingyan Pavilion. No one can get in through the main gate! Let's use the back entrance!"

Xu Ying looked and saw two divine figures from Lingyan Pavilion, one holding a Golden Whip and the other a golden mace, standing guard on either side of the Imperial Palace entrance.

However, once they reached the rear palace, there were no divine guardians to be found.

This was the Cold Palace, a place heavy with yin energy and thick with resentment. As Xu Ying and Guo Xiaodie made their way through, they had to summon the Pure Yang Anomalous Fire and the Celestial Fire to disperse the oppressive atmosphere.

As they approached the Eastern Palace, they heard the Holy God Emperor's furious roar from a distance: "Even you, a Guo, dare to plot against Us?"

Xu Ying and Guo Xiaodie peeked over and saw that the Holy God Emperor was nearly cut in half. His aura was withered, and his Cultivation was on the verge of collapse.

The Guo Family Ancestor, standing in the Fourth Heaven, had channeled his Cyan Dragon Halberd. Though it was only a single strike, it had shattered the Emperor's technique, and his entire Cultivation was nearly wiped out as a result!

One can only imagine the Holy God Emperor's fury.

"We merely wanted to 'eat' a person the Guo Family was hiding, not a member of the Guo Family themselves!"

The Holy God Emperor cursed. "And for that, he tries to harm Us! This is outright treason!"

Beside him, Eunuch Chen's face was ashen. "Your Majesty," he said, "the Imperial Music Bureau still has a few Official Courtesans from the Zhou Family. This servant has already had them brought here to treat Your Majesty's wounds..."

The Holy God Emperor grabbed the Jade Seal and smashed it into the eunuch's face, roaring, "You want Us to be treated by whores? Have you gone mad?!"

With blood streaming down his face, Eunuch Chen dropped to his knees. "Your Majesty, all the men of the Zhou Family have been killed! There are none left!"

The Holy God Emperor waved his hand, allowing him to rise. "Bring those whores in," he said. "Heal Our wounds. Then, make sure no news of this gets out. Dispose of them afterward, and don't even leave their souls behind."

Eunuch Chen agreed. Just as he was about to leave, the Holy God Emperor called out to him again. "I have a feeling something is wrong with my Nine Heavens Yang God Mysterious Altar Skill. That Xu Ying must have sabotaged me, twisting the Cultivation Technique. Now, We cannot return to Jiuyi, and Our technique has been broken. Go capture some living people. We need to cultivate."

A chill ran down Eunuch Chen's spine. He lowered his head and departed.

"Don't let any news slip out," the Holy God Emperor's voice followed him. "You know the consequences."

Xu Ying and Guo Xiaodie couldn't hear what they were saying. A mischievous impulse struck Guo Xiaodie, and she ran up behind Eunuch Chen to blow on the back of his neck.

Eunuch Chen shivered violently again. He looked all around, muttering prayers for the Divine Spirits' protection, then pulled his robes tighter and scurried away.

"He doesn't actually think the Imperial Palace is haunted, does he?" Guo Xiaodie asked excitedly.

The girl ran over, jumped onto Eunuch Chen's back, and grabbed his neck. Swaying him from side to side, she yelled, "Give me back my life!"

Eunuch Chen suddenly fell to the ground with a THUD. He scrambled and crawled away, fleeing for his life.
