Chapter 261 168: The Old Has Yet to Leave, The New Has Already Come
Every Wizard's path is different.
Wang Ya's path as a Dream Wizard was, naturally, unique. The way of the illusory had many facets, from delusion and emotion to turning illusion into reality. It involved weaving dreams and destroying them, bringing nightmares or sweet reveries... The Dream Realm was ever-changing, and Wang Ya's chosen path was entirely different from that of an Illusory Dream Wizard.
[Notification: Dream Territory has successfully anchored to reality. It can now be used to overlay the real world at any time.]
A Dream Wizard's greatest trump card was the ability to replace reality with their Dream Territory, where everything was under their control. However, the cost in Dream Power was astronomical.
Wang Ya stood at the entrance of the Dark Wizard Academy, silently watching the Wizards come and go. He noticed many more youthful, unfamiliar faces among them.
Ten years had passed since the major internal investigation.
And eight years had passed since Wang Ya had entered deep seclusion, having the Illusory Dream Wizard request a leave of absence for him to postpone his assigned missions.
In those eight years, he had completed numerous Wizard Experiments and successfully advanced his Power, becoming a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice.

As Wang Ya released his Spiritual Power, a massive stream of information flooded in from all directions.
He could now do everything the Black Wizard Rilis had once been capable of.
By applying his Extraordinary Spiritual Power to his own body, Wang Ya could defy the pull of gravity and fly with ease.
With his current Spiritual Power, he could sustain flight for half an hour.
"Gusai Wizard is so strict! But in the Secret Realm competition five years from now, I'm going to secure a top spot. I refuse to be outdone by those wizards from the clans."
"That's right, Toby! We all have to work hard. We'll show those arrogant Wizard Freshmen from the clans that commoner Wizards have what it takes to surpass them."
"But Extraordinary Potions are so expensive, and so are the fees for the Extraordinary Disciplines. I asked Gusai Wizard, and a single Basic Extraordinary Discipline costs fifty Magic Stones. There's no way we can afford that."
Three or four boys and girls in Wizard Robes walked out of the academy together, chattering amongst themselves. They weren't very tall, and their faces were full of youth.
Their faces showed hope for the future and a yearning for the vastness of the Wizard World, but also apprehension and worry... Wang Ya watched them in silence, a complex mix of emotions stirring in his heart. 'So much time has passed.'
Once, he too had walked out of the academy with the same feelings: a mix of uncertainty and hope for the future.
This was the new batch of Wizard Freshmen, who had passed the assessments in the various recruitment camps across the Dark Land to come here.
"Each of us knows one piece of Low-tier Witchcraft. There are Wizard Tasks available in the Lower House Library. We can accept them together and slowly save up Magic Stones."
The tallest of the boys made the suggestion, and the other Wizard Freshmen all eagerly agreed.
They needed Magic Stones to purchase courses in the Extraordinary Disciplines and learn Extraordinary Knowledge to become stronger.
Only then could they hope to achieve a high rank in the Secret Realm competition five years from now.
"I heard the top three in the Secret Realm competition get to choose which Extraordinary School they join. Getting into any Extraordinary School would be a huge help for our futures."
"I heard from some of the senior Apprentices that the last batch of Wizard Freshmen had an incredible commoner Wizard named Wang Ya Harak, who's also the respected Child of the Dark. He started as a commoner and defeated numerous genius wizards from the clans, won it all, and became a Wizard in an Inheritance Lineage... And that batch of clan wizards was supposedly the most fearsome and talented group ever."
"We're commoner Wizards too! If Senior Wang Ya could do it, then so can we. As long as we work hard, it will pay off."
Smiles appeared on the four Wizard Freshmen's faces. They looked at each other, their eyes filled with determination.
One Wizard Freshman in a black Wizard Robe, his long, messy hair obscuring his eyes, lifted his head slightly upon hearing this. His expression was solemn, and deep within his sleeves, his hands clenched into fists.
'That's right. What Senior Wang Ya accomplished, I, a commoner Wizard, can accomplish too.'
Ace took a deep breath. 'Even if my aptitude isn't outstanding, with the right opportunity, I can definitely surpass the Wizard Freshmen from the clans. I might even achieve something more glorious than Senior Wang Ya himself.'
The group and the individual went their separate ways. A smile touched Wang Ya's lips. He'd even overheard the four Wizard Freshmen name their little group "Heart of Perseverance."
Wang Ya's gaze fell on Ace's retreating back. 'This kid is something else. He even reminds me a little of myself.'
The old generation has yet to fade, and the new one has already arrived.
A smile touched Wang Ya's lips. 'But if these newcomers think they can surpass me, they're dreaming.'
'Even I'm not sure what my Power is comparable to now, or what I'm truly capable of.'
