Urban Genius Divine Doctor

Chapter 375: Let's Just Be Decisive

Wang Chenning knew who Wang Jiangxing was. He'd done his homework before coming to Qiantang, so he was familiar with the key players.

He just hadn't expected Wang Jiangxing to call him and offer to pay him a visit.

Unsure of the reason for the call, he neither accepted nor refused. Instead, he gave a few noncommittal replies before quietly asking Zhao Xiao'an if she knew Wang Jiangxing.

Zhao Xiao'an's eyes widened the moment she heard the name.

"Give me the phone!" she said, wiping her hands before asking Wang Chenning for his cell.

After asking Wang Jiangxing to hold on for a moment, Wang Chenning handed the phone to Zhao Xiao'an.

"Uncle Wang, it's Xiao'an!" Zhao Xiao'an said after taking the phone. "Yes, it's been a long time, Uncle Wang. Chenning and I are in Qiantang today with Miss Li Fuzhen and Miss Li Yanxian of Shanxing Group. We were just having dinner. Alright, since you're inviting us for tea, we'll definitely come over. We'll see you in a bit."

After hanging up, Zhao Xiao'an beamed at Wang Chenning. "Wang Jiangxing was my dad's classmate, and he's also someone my grandpa greatly admires. He used to visit our home from time to time, though we've seen less of him in recent years. Since he's the one who invited us, we should show him some respect and go."

"Alright, your call!" Wang Chenning readily agreed.

Zhao Xiao'an gave a brief overview of who Wang Jiangxing was, and after hearing her explanation, neither Li Fuzhen nor Li Yanxian objected to the meeting.

After dinner, the four of them hailed a cab. They first dropped their luggage off at their hotel and freshened up a little before preparing to meet with Wang Jiangxing.

Wang Jiangxing arranged for his secretary and a car to pick them up.

When they went downstairs, the car was already waiting at the hotel entrance, so the four of them got in.

The teahouse Wang Jiangxing had chosen was only a little over ten minutes' drive from their hotel, the Junyue Grand Hotel.

After the car stopped, the secretary very politely led the four of them upstairs.

The secretary knocked gently on the door of a private room, opened it, and gestured for them to enter before excusing himself.

Inside the private room sat a middle-aged man in his fifties. He had a refined, scholarly bearing and an aura of quiet authority.

"Uncle Wang, I'm so sorry to disturb you this late." Zhao Xiao'an was exceptionally polite, showing none of the arrogance one might expect from a girl of her background. She stepped forward with a brilliant smile to greet him, then introduced the others.

"It's a pleasure to meet you both, Miss Li." Wang Jiangxing beamed, extending his hand to Li Fuzhen and Li Yanxian. He followed with an apology. "I didn't realize Qiantang was your destination; I only found out after seeing Miss Li Yanxian's Weibo post. I'm terribly sorry for not being able to arrange your food and lodging. Next time you visit Qiantang, please call me directly. I'll personally see to all the arrangements."

"Thank you, Mr. Wang," Li Fuzhen replied politely, and briefly explained their reason for being in the area. "I came to Huaxia this time to discuss further business cooperation with Mr. Wang Chenning. As it turned out, he was planning a trip to Jiangnan, so I decided to accompany him and see the region for myself."

"West Lake is beautiful, and Qiantang's urban development is quite impressive. It's left a wonderful impression on me," Li Yanxian replied to Wang Jiangxing with a bright smile. "That's why I made that Weibo post. I never imagined Mr. Wang himself would see it!"

Wang Jiangxing's position was a significant one. The province he administered, Zhijiang, was comparable to South Korea in both area and population, with a similar overall economy. In fact, when measured by purchasing power parity, Zhijiang's was arguably even stronger.

Facing a figure of Wang Jiangxing's stature, neither Li Fuzhen nor Li Yanxian would dare to be dismissive.

Wang Chenning was the last to shake hands and greet Wang Jiangxing.

"Young friend Chenning, I've heard so much about you. It's a pleasure to finally meet you in person!" Wang Jiangxing said with a hearty laugh, giving Wang Chenning's hand a firm shake. "Your visit to South Korea and Japan a while back made waves across all of East Asia. A true young hero! I'd heard your mother and grandmother are both from Zhijiang, and we were actually planning to invite you for an official visit to Qiantang to see how your family's homeland has developed. I never expected you to just sneak in on your own!"

"That word you used, 'sneak,' is quite apt, Mr. Wang!" Wang Chenning replied with a laugh. "Though I didn't exactly come in secret; I posted about it on social media before and during my journey. The truth is, I've long admired the splendors of Jiangnan, but for various reasons, I never had the chance to visit as an adult. When Xiao'an told me how beautiful Jiangnan is in the spring, I couldn't resist the impulse to see it for myself! And just as Miss Li Yanxian said, West Lake is truly beautiful, and Qiantang's city planning is excellent. 'A city of mountains and water, a city of people'—the way it integrates urban life with natural landscapes is unparalleled. In that respect, Qiantang surpasses every other city."

"Well, you're welcome to visit Qiantang often, for pleasure or for business!" Wang Jiangxing patted Wang Chenning's hand and continued his hearty laugh. "We have the most beautiful scenery, the best investment climate, and the highest administrative efficiency. I guarantee you'll feel right at home here."

"Thank you, Mr. Wang." Wang Jiangxing's warmth made a deep impression on Wang Chenning. "With a welcome this enthusiastic, it feels like we must leave our mark here in Jiangnan—in Qiantang, by West Lake."

He gestured toward Li Fuzhen. "Miss Li Fuzhen is here to discuss establishing a pharmaceutical manufacturing company with me in Huaxia. We've already reached a preliminary agreement, but we haven't chosen a location yet. We have to consider the local business environment, government incentives, and the supply chain for medicinal herbs. We plan to spend the next couple of days looking around the Qiantang area. If we like what we see, we might just decide to register the company right here!"

"On behalf of myself and all of Zhijiang, I welcome your joint venture to make its home in Qiantang. I'll have my people provide you both with detailed information about what our province has to offer. Zhijiang Province has always welcomed investors from across the country and around the world with the greatest enthusiasm. Here in Zhijiang, in Qiantang, I promise you'll feel right at home," Wang Jiangxing said with a touch of pride. "As the nation's only demonstration zone for common prosperity, we will not disappoint you!"

"I'm personally very fond of Qiantang," Li Fuzhen chimed in with a smile. "I've tried to come here to discuss investment opportunities several times in the past, but for one reason or another, the trips never materialized. Qiantang's tourism and hospitality sectors are exceptionally well-developed, as are its new energy and pharmaceutical industries. Add to that Zhijiang Province's administrative efficiency, its excellent investment climate, and its mature e-commerce ecosystem... it truly is a prime location for investment."

Wang Chenning immediately jumped in. "Since you're so optimistic about Zhijiang, Miss Li, why don't we just cut to the chase? Let's establish the new company in either Qiantang or Yuezhou. What do you say?"
