The Wizard Has A Biochip

Chapter 170: Full of energy

Obviously, only I was capable of detecting such small changes in my own attributes.

For any other acolyte, an increase of a few thousandths in strength, vigor, or mana would probably be far too insignificant to notice.

And that completely changed the way I viewed that meal.

The second piece of meat was placed in front of me shortly after I finished the first.

The total amount of meat I had eaten was at least three times larger than the size of my own stomach.

But even so, my body still wanted more...

I clenched my teeth and grabbed another piece of meat.

This time, I did not even try to savor the flavor.

I stuffed the piece into my mouth.

However, there was something different.

As the meat was digested, I began to notice an extremely peculiar sensation.

Normally, if I wanted to increase my mana, I would have to rely on my daily meditations.

And, to be honest, they were almost useless compared to the speed at which my biochip could analyze information.

For some time, I had believed that, besides meditation, the only truly efficient way to increase my mana would be through Mana Potions.

But that meal was making me reconsider everything.

Now I knew there was another method.

Food.

Food loaded with elemental energy could gradually improve an acolyte’s constitution.

It was not as fast as a potion.

But it had a gigantic advantage.

It was food.

And, apparently, I could consume it regularly to strengthen my body, increase my strength, my vigor, and, at the same time, slowly raise my mana.

Besides, I still remembered the information I had received about the Mana Potion I had purchased earlier.

That potion would increase my mana by approximately twenty percent more than the versions normally sold outside.

But there was a price.

It needed to be used in moderation.

Otherwise, its effect would eventually consume my own physical attributes.

If I abused it...

I could end up looking like an almost skeletal acolyte, with my mana increasing while my body withered away.

I think the time had come to find a way to improve my physical body.

Perhaps I could buy all the breathing techniques aimed at knights available in the tower.

Then, look for manuals intended for acolytes on the body refinement path.

If I could gather enough techniques...

Perhaps the biochip could analyze all of them.

Separate the useful principles.

Eliminate the incompatible parts.

And then fuse them into a single technique.

If I could strengthen my physical body sufficiently, I could use Mana Potions without suffering as many side effects.

And I could continue eating this kind of food.

Actually...

The best option might be to make this part of my daily diet.

While I pondered how to combine the food and Mana Potions to obtain the best possible result, something unexpected happened.

A cube of meat got stuck in my throat.

My eyes widened.

— Ngh!

I tried to swallow, but I couldn’t.

My throat was completely blocked.

I began to panic.

Damn!

I desperately reached out my hand.

My gaze fell upon the glass of crimson liquid beside the tray.

Without thinking twice, I grabbed it and poured the liquid into my mouth.

I swallowed.

The next instant...

My face turned purple.

— GHH?!

The sensation was as if a flame had entered directly through my mouth.

A monstrous heat descended down my throat and exploded inside my stomach.

My entire body began to tremble.

My eyes almost popped out of their sockets.

That was... Blood of the Light Dragon of the Mountain Peak!

The elemental energy of Light began to spread throughout my body.

The meat I had consumed was already releasing an absurd amount of energy.

Now, the dragon’s blood had been added to the mixture.

It was like pouring oil onto a bonfire.

The energy began to multiply.

My hungry body desperately absorbed everything.

My skin began to heat up.

My vision became blurry.

Even so, I gathered all my strength and finally managed to swallow the piece of meat that had been stuck in my throat.

Gulp ~~

But at that moment, I realized that I had reached my limit.

I couldn’t take it anymore.

My entire body was burning from the inside.

My consciousness began to become confused, and my magical perception became completely disorganized.

My body lost its strength.

Then I simply collapsed.

BAng~~

My face hit the table.

Before completely losing consciousness, I could still hear a loud and satisfied voice.

— Hehe, boy!

—That’s the first thing a guy like me wanted to teach an acolyte like you.

— Only by knowing how to eat properly can an acolyte become a better fighter!

—Remember that!

When I finally woke up, many hours had passed.

I knew this with absolute precision because the biochip had recorded the time throughout the entire period I remained unconscious.

[Beep!]

[08:50]

I slowly opened my eyes.

For a few seconds, I stared at the ceiling above me, not understanding where I was.

I was lying on a warm and extremely comfortable blanket, inside a small house.

But the instant I fully awakened...

My entire body seemed to explode.

A feeling I had never experienced before flooded my consciousness.

It was a profound sense of satisfaction.

But that satisfaction came accompanied by something even stranger.

An almost irrational need to fight.

My body wanted to move.

It wanted to test its strength.

It wanted to release that amount of energy accumulated inside me.

I had always been an extremely rational person.

I was not accustomed to feeling such intense impulses.

— Biochip, what happened to me?

—Why am I feeling like this?

[Beep.]

[Detected that all of the host’s absorbable bodily attributes have reached their current upper limit.]

[Large amount of unabsorbed elemental Light energy detected inside the host’s body.]

[The abnormal sensation is caused by stimulation resulting from the excess elemental Light energy.]

[Recommendation: immediately execute sorcery practices to absorb the excess elemental energy.]

All of this was a consequence of my body’s low resistance.

I immediately stood up and went outside.

The fresh morning air hit my face.

I looked around.

Only then did I realize that I was still inside the training field.

The small house where they had placed me was located in the western region.

There were several other similar houses and small structures around it.

With my senses now much sharper, I could perceive that some of them were empty.

Others were occupied.

Some people were meditating in silence.

Others were sleeping deeply.

It was the morning of the following day.

Farther ahead, at the edge of the large training field, several of the most talented acolytes had already begun practicing their spells.

I watched in silence.

They cast their spells with extremely smooth movements.

Some barely made any noticeable movement at all.

The incantations were short.

The casting process seemed almost instantaneous.

My eyes lit up.

In fact, what they were doing was a skill that normally belonged to the more experienced Level III conjurer acolytes from mage families.

When an acolyte reached the third level and acquired a certain degree of mastery over a spell, they would begin trying to compress the incantation.

Some words were eliminated.

Some parts of the process were condensed.

Until, eventually, the acolyte could cast the spell without having to recite the entire incantation.

The ultimate goal was instant casting.

Some extremely powerful mages did not even need to pronounce one or two words.

A syllable or two was enough.

And the spell would appear.

But reaching that point was not simple.

It required many years of tireless practice.

Besides that, there was another extremely important factor.

Magical legacies.

It was at that moment that I understood even better why mage families were so important.

Every powerful family possessed its own spell legacies.

Techniques passed down from generation to generation.

Knowledge that could not easily be found in ordinary books.

An acolyte belonging to a mage family could learn directly from the mistakes of their ancestors.

They knew which parts of an incantation could be compressed, where to interrupt the casting, and how to interrupt it without suffering a dangerous backlash.

It was almost like cheating with my biochip.

That was the true advantage of accumulated knowledge.

Besides that, there was an even more interesting technique.

The so-called free casting.

Acolytes who mastered this method could begin casting a spell and, when it was almost complete, dissipate it before activation.

This way, they could practice hundreds of times without spending the same amount of mana required to actually cast the spell.

An acolyte had a limited amount of mana.

If they relied only on complete casting, after a dozen spells they would probably already be exhausted.

After that, all that would remain was to rest or sleep to recover their mana.

But, by using techniques such as free casting and instant casting...

It was possible to practice a hundred times or even perhaps a thousand every day.

However, at that moment, I had something much more urgent to do.

My body was about to explode.

I walked toward a more secluded corner of the field.

I found a large stone that would serve perfectly as a target.

Approximately one hundred meters away.

I stopped.

I took a deep breath.

I extended my hand.

The elemental Light energy inside my body immediately began to stir.

— Light Bow and Arrow!

Zoshh!

A shining bow appeared in my hand, and I immediately pulled the string of the brilliant bow.

The next instant, I fired.

BOOM!

It struck the stone and exploded.

A wave of heat spread out.

I did not stop.

Compared to the acolytes who were calmly practicing free casting beside me, my practice looked like a bombardment.

The physical impact of the arrows, combined with their explosions, transformed the target into a veritable sea of fire.

I was completely focused.

But something was wrong.

My mana should have run out.

I only had eight points.

Under normal circumstances, after eight complete casts, I should have been completely exhausted.

But... I still wasn’t.
