CHAPTER 77: The Dawn of the Sterling Era

(ARC 5: THE CENTENNIAL ASSEMBLY & THE CENTRAL GALACTIC EMPIRE)

The morning suns of Aethelgard rose over a galaxy transformed.

Across ten thousand star systems, the central projection arrays broadcasted the new Imperial Sovereign Charter. The era of noble oppression, secret harvesters, and artificial bottlenecks was officially dismantled. Under the leadership of House Sterling, every lower-realm cultivation node was granted free access to central cosmic spirit veins, while merit-based academies replaced bloodline privileges.

Inside the grand throne hall of the Aethelgard Imperial Palace, sunlight filtered through towering stained-glass windows, illuminating the newly carved crest of House Sterling above the high throne—a majestic dragon soaring through a ring of silver starlight.

Standing at the base of the throne platform, Lord Harrison and Master Lin presented glowing jade tablets containing the reorganized administrative structure of the Central Galactic Empire.

"Sovereign Monarch," Lord Harrison announced, bowing till his forehead nearly touched the white star-jade floor. "The six Primordial Clans have completed the transfer of their administrative arrays. All seven Iron Gates are now garrisoned by two hundred thousand members of the Pentagon Vanguard, led by Fire Spire officers."

Elena walked up to the central table, placing a detailed spatial ledger beside the administrative tablets.

"Furthermore, Dad," Elena reported smoothly, "the former Solari mining belts have been fully converted into free resource distribution nodes. Over three million outer-rim commoners who were previously registered as 'livestock labor' have been granted full citizen status within the Sterling Empire."

Ethan leaned against his wooden spear shaft with a bright, satisfied grin. "And the best part? Not a single warlord in Sector 7 or the Central Galaxy has dared to raise a finger against us. They know what happens when someone tries to test House Sterling."

Sitting upon the high obsidian throne, Gabriel listened with serene, emperor-level composure. He wore his dark dragon-silk coat, his dark golden dragon pupils reflecting the glowing holographic ledgers.

Beside him sat Evelyn, looking breathtakingly regal in a gown of woven starlight. Her dark eyes sparkled with quiet pride as she looked at her husband and children.

"You have all done exceptional work," Gabriel declared smoothly, his deep voice carrying a warm, authoritative resonance across the vast hall. "Our foundation is absolute. The realm is secure, and our people are free."

As the afternoon suns dipped toward the horizon, casting a warm golden light over the floating cloud gardens of Aethelgard, the court dismissed.

Gabriel walked slowly along the quiet, flower-lined pathways of the palace’s private sky garden, holding Evelyn’s hand.

Evelyn leaned her head comfortably against his shoulder as they walked, her fingers intertwined with his. The soft fragrance of thousand-year spirit blossoms filled the cool evening breeze.

"It feels almost strange, Gabriel," Evelyn murmured softly, a peaceful smile gracing her lips. "No dungeon anchors... no corrupt noble houses threatening our children... no alien fleets hanging over our home."

Gabriel stopped near the edge of the sky balcony, looking out over the sprawling, shining capital of Aethelgard. He pulled Evelyn into a warm, devoted embrace, cupping her face gently with his hand.

"We fought through the slums, shattered the nobles, and conquered the galaxy so we could enjoy this peace, Evelyn," Gabriel whispered, his dark golden dragon eyes filled with romantic warmth and absolute devotion.

He leaned down, pressing his lips to hers in a slow, lingering kiss that carried the weight of nine years of unshakeable love and shared trials.

Evelyn wrapped her arms tightly around his neck, leaning into his warmth with a soft, radiant sigh. "And wherever our path leads next... I will always be right here by your side, my love."

Behind them near the garden archway, Ethan and Elena stood watching their parents with warm, happy smiles.

"So," Ethan chuckled quietly, resting his arm over his spear shaft as he looked up at the vast, endless expanse of the uncharted cosmic void beyond the galaxy. "What do you think lies past the Central Galactic Empire, Elena?"

Elena smiled softly, adjusting her azure sword sash as the silver starlight illuminated the sky.

"Whatever is out there, Ethan," Elena replied calmly, "it belongs to House Sterling."
