CHAPTER 52: The Last Three Hundred and Sixty-Five Days

(ARC 3: THE FINAL COUNTDOWN & DEEP-SPACE WAR PREPARATIONS)

The grand, shimmering starlight aurora from the Jubilee still lingered in the upper atmosphere as a faint, comforting glow, but inside the subterranean War Room of the Sterling Central Palace, the atmosphere was razor-sharp, quiet, and intensely focused.

At the center of the chamber, the massive obsidian strategic console projected a towering, three-dimensional holographic model of the planet. Surrounding it in deep space was a dark red, pulsating ring depicting the Vorathian Main Fleet—a armada of three thousand biomechanical dreadnoughts and planetary siege platforms currently executing their final light-speed jump from the outer rim.

Floating directly above the holographic fleet was a stark, glowing counter:

│ VORATHIAN MAIN FLEET ARRIVAL COUNTDOWN │

├────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┤

Sitting around the obsidian council table were the core pillars of the empire: General Ignatius in dark dragon-plate armor, Lord Harrison holding the strategic logistics ledger, Master Lin representing the Wood Spire, Malakor lingering like an ominous Void Sovereign shadow behind the throne, and Ethan and Elena sitting at their father's right and left hands.

Gabriel sat at the head of the council, dressed in a simple, dark dragon-silk coat. His dark golden dragon pupils—burning with the fathomless depth of a Late-Stage Void Sovereign—scanned the strategic readout with absolute, unshakeable calm.

"Three hundred and sixty-five days," Gabriel began, his deep voice carrying a quiet, world-shaking resonance that instantly focused every mind in the room. "The decade of preparation granted to us by the Solari Dynasty's fallen secrets is drawing to its close. The Vorathians believe they are returning to a weak, polluted livestock world managed by groveling noble puppets."

A cold, dangerous smile played on Gabriel’s lips as he looked around at his commanders.

"Let us review the state of our home before we greet them."

Lord Harrison stood up first, tapping his ledger to project four distinct data screens above the strategic table.

"Sovereign Master," Lord Harrison reported, his eyes shining with intense pride. "Thanks to the Pentagon Association’s mass elixirs over the last nine years, our commoner population has completely transformed. Every citizen above the age of sixteen possesses basic internal Qi and defensive martial capability. We no longer have an unarmed civilian class."

General Ignatius slammed his armored fist against his chest. "The Imperial Sterling Vanguard has completed thirty simulated orbital drop drop-tests. If the Vorathians manage to breach the upper canopy, three million heavy-armored dragon knights will meet them on the drop zones!"

Gabriel turned his gaze toward Malakor, who hovered behind his shoulder in his Transcendent Void form.

"Malakor. What is the status of deep-space reconnaissance?"

Malakor’s violet eyes flashed in the darkness. "Sovereign Master. My void shadows have seeded the asteroid belt three light-hours outside our orbit. The Vorathian Vanguard scouts remain completely unaware that their previous orbital reconnaissance ship was wiped out. They are flying blind into our Celestial Canopy."

Gabriel turned to Ethan and Elena.

Ethan rested his hand on his wooden spear shaft, his eyes burning with a fierce, gold-tempered dragon heat. "Dad, Elena and I spent the last three months testing the Fire Spire’s heavy spatial strike formations. We can deploy ten thousand dragon-physique shock troops into any orbital drop-zone within three seconds using spatial gates."

Elena adjusted her azure sword sash, her posture calm and razor-sharp. "The Water Spire’s communication arrays are linked directly to every provincial capital. The moment the first alien vessel drops out of warp, the entire planet will move as one body."

Gabriel looked at his family and his loyal subordinates.

Inside his mind, the System chimed with a deep, golden, planetary-scale prompt:

[Ding!]

[Final War Phase Initiated: 'The Last 365 Days of the Cosmic Dawn'!]

[System Mission Issued: 'Final Mobilization & Planetary Ascension'!]

[Objective:] Complete the final phase of planet-wide spatial defense arrays and lead the Sterling Empire in the absolute annihilation of the Vorathian Invasion Fleet!

[Reward upon Total Victory:] Planet Rank Ascension ➔ Cosmic Realm Sovereignty!

Gabriel closed the System interface. He stood up slowly, his black dragon-silk coat settling over his broad shoulders, his presence dominating the entire War Room with an unshakeable, emperor-level authority.

"For five hundred years, the stars treated this world as a farm," Gabriel declared, his voice echoing through the subterranean hall like a divine decree. "They dropped dungeons, poisoned our atmosphere, and turned our people against one another."

Gabriel’s gold-tinted dragon pupils flashed with cold, world-shaking dominance as he rested his hand on the obsidian console.

"In three hundred and sixty-five days... we end their farm forever. Issue the Final War Directive to every province, every academy, and every spire: prepare for the Cosmic Dawn."

"BY YOUR COMMAND, SOVEREIGN MASTER!" the council roared in unison, their voices shaking the very foundation of the palace!

The countdown was ticking. The empire was unified. And as the final year began, Gabriel Sterling stood at the pinnacle of his realm, ready to show the universe the true, unstoppable name of House Sterling.
