Surprisingly, or unsurprisingly, the decisive dwarf team leader who once led Catherina’s team and the Level 3 blessed from the dwarf and elf army against the demon king is actually one of the virtuous people involved.

To not waste his unpetrified state, Lacius decided to spend most of his time researching the method Hellion used to use the blessed power from other elements.

After so long, he finally succeeded.

In a wide hall he newly created in the underground, Lacius held a bottle of alchemical compound and imbued it with his mana.

The moment it activated, a storm-like wind blade appeared and ravaged the room.

Watching the carnage caused by the wind blades, the corner of Lacius’s lip slightly tilted upwards, “Is this what Hellion calls magic? This thing is pretty useful.”

Lacius thoughtfully looked at the shattered glass bottle in his hand, “I can feel it. Just like the alchemy I invented, this so called magic must’ve been the future trend. From the potential it currently shows, I believe it might surpass the power of alchemy in a few centuries.”

Lacius nodded and asked another question, “What is the situation of Level 3 blessed in the world right now?”

The High Priest bowed, “The Temple already has twelve Upper Level 3 blessed and three Peak Level 3 as the strongest combatant, while the surrounding kingdoms and empires have at least one Low Level Level 3 blessed and hiding another Low Level 3 blessed or a Mid Level 3 blessed, while each empires shows a Mid Level 3 blessed while hiding two to three Mid Level 3 blessed.”

Lacius nodded, “Good.”

The Lacius asked something he almost forgotten about, “How are the twenty elves and dwarves I brought a long time ago?”

‘What experiment did I tell them to do again?’ Lacius recalled that around three hundred years ago, he had brought ten elves and ten dwarves from beyond the mountain range. But it had been quite a long time, and he had kind of forgotten what experiment he had told them to do. All he recalled was that the experiment would take a long time.

The High Priest answered, “As you intended, we have made the elves and dwarves continue to increase their population while having them bear children with humans. Although it’s quite difficult, but those children born from humans and other races indeed have longer lifespans. But it became extremely difficult for those of mixed race to marry humans, elves, or dwarves.”

With the help of godhood, Cedric’s calculation power is far greater than that of normal creatures. Thanks to that, he never fails during the material processing step.

Processing magic materials is pretty simple. In essence, it's pretty similar to alchemy that Lacius found.

But unlike alchemy, where the goal is to create an item or potions, the goal of processing the material is to make the specific elemental mana inside it become active.

Once the element inside is active, anyone can simply imbue their mana in a certain way to activate the spell.

Honestly, activating magic isn't much different from pulling the pin from a grenade and throwing it.

Also, the amount of explosives in the grenade matters. Depending on the mana contained in the processed material, the magic spell’s power could be much stronger or weaker than the user.

Cedric has done the test himself by copying five exact processed materials and triggering them with the quantity and quality of mana found in Level 0,1,2,3 and 4 blessed respectively.

The same material when activated by a Peak Level 0 mana can almost reach Level 2 in power, using Peak Level 1 mana can release power equal to a Upper Level 2, Peak Level 2 mana can release power equal to Lower Level 3, while using Peak Level 3 mana can release power equal to Upper Level 3, and Peak Level 4 can only release power equal to Mid Level 4.

The material he used for the test is a magic material processed from something called ‘Darkest ash from the red river’.

It's a special, mana-dense ash from magma found in one of the dwarves' mining tunnels. To create the ash, a magic metal that contains a certain amount of mana density must be thrown into the magma until it turns to ash.

This process takes months and has a certain chance of failure.

As for the usage, the processed ‘Darkest ash from the red river' can be used to cast fire-element blessed power.

Due to their sheer explosive power, it's usually kept as a trump card by those at Level 2 and below, and becomes the main staple for those at Level 3 to cast fire-element magic.

As for how everyone found they could use those things as magic materials, it's thanks to the trend of creating new magic a few decades ago.

After Hellion taught his disciples about magic, the basic rules for creating magic materials slowly became known and popularized.

Choosing magic materials is actually extremely simple. The more mana it contains, the more likely it is to be used as a magic material. The result of the magic will depend on what kind of item it is and where it came from.

For example, if it's a magic metal, it can usually be refined into a material for casting earth magic. If it's something like a rock that splits a river into two, it most likely can be used for water magic because it has absorbed a lot of mana from the water. There are also materials like the first winter snow that can be used for ice magic, or items struck by thunder from broad daylight that can be used for lightning magic.

During that time, some elves often went to chase after tornadoes that rarely appeared in the hope of getting materials suitable for wind magic, while the dwarves had invented lightning rod to harvest lightning.
