Chapter 63 13:
"I am going to tear you apart, rip your skin away piece by piece! I will tear out your entrails and eat your heart while you watch me! And I will watch with satisfaction as the light of life escapes from your eyes!"
"¡Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!"
Korr, in a surge of rage and unrestrained fury, hurled himself at the lithari leader, determined to kill him no matter what.
Those were barely the last remnants of strength he had left, but he was motivated, this time he had to kill him.
But that desperate attack from Korr was as predictable as it was pathetic.
The lithari, despite his cracked armor, possessed enhanced reflexes thanks to his cybernetic modifications.
His four arms moved with deadly precision.
The first intercepted Korr's fist, trapping his wrist between fingers the size of sausages, while the second and third arms struck against the nato's chest in a double blow that wreaked havoc upon him.
CRACK!
Korr's ribs, already weakened from the previous impacts, gave way with a horrifying crunch.
The air escaped his lungs in an agonized whistle as he flew backward, crashing against the remains of a shattered slab.
But the lithari gave him no time to recover.
He charged at Korr like a bull, his armored boots sinking into the ground, leaving trails of twisted metal in his wake.
He reached Korr before the latter could even rise, and launched a punch that descended like a hydraulic hammer.
Korr rolled to the left, narrowly avoiding the lithari's fist as it slammed into the slab, pulverizing it into a cloud of gray dust.
But the second blow, thrown by the lower right arm, struck Korr on the already wounded shoulder.
The nato felt the joint crack, threatening to tear out of place.
"What's wrong?" roared the lithari. "Is that all?" he spat, his bionic eye glowing crimson. "A dying pup that can barely remain standing, get up and represent your wicked race!"
Korr answered exactly as requested, with a right hook to the jaw.
The impact was solid, his skinned knuckles tearing even further upon contact with the reinforced metal of the lithari's helmet, but the alien did not even move his head.
Korr no longer had any strength left.
"Pathetic." He said, and launched a brutal counterattack.
The lithari seized him by the throat with his two upper arms and lifted him from the ground as though he weighed nothing.
His lower arms began to work over Korr's torso like steam engines.
Pum! Pum! Pum! Pum!
Each strike was an explosion of pain that threatened to drag Korr into unconsciousness.
Blood poured from his mouth in crimson streams, mixing with saliva and sweat.
For a moment, the lithari hurled him away like a rag doll.
Korr's body traced an absurd arc before crashing against a support column fifty meters away.
The metal structure bent with an agonized groan, and the crystalline ceiling above them creaked, releasing a rain of fragments that crashed down upon them.
Korr fell to the ground, rolled several meters, and remained lying on his back, staring at the night sky of Viltrum through the fractured ceiling.
The stars twinkled far above, beautiful and indifferent to his agony.
It felt so good simply to observe, to watch, expectant.
Suddenly space itself seemed so beautiful to him, and he felt the curiosity to explore the confines of the universe.
How interesting that would be.
However, Korr's dying musings were interrupted by the lithari leader.
He landed near his position, ready for more.
"Rise, demon. Rise and receive the punishment you deserve for all the evil you have caused throughout the universe."
Korr wanted to rise, to fight, but his body would not respond. His left leg was useless dead weight, the right barely trembled, and his arms felt as heavy as molten lead.
The lithari walked toward him until he stood at his side, looking down upon him with disdain.
"How I wish to make you suffer even more, demon. But I no longer have time. Death awaits us, so this is the end," he said, towering above Korr like a mountain of hatred. His shadow completely covered the nato's bloodied face. "Farewell forever, invasive species. May the universe itself reject you in death."
His armored boot rose, ready to descend and crush him.
But he never achieved his intent.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! HOW DARE YOU!"
