Izumi Miyamura: Xover

Chapter 293 285

Author's Notes: Chapter edited and corrected by Vongrak.

Sung Jinwoo.

I tried to move, but I wouldn't have made it in time. To my surprise, the sword stopped abruptly before it could strike my neck, and then I felt someone push me back. I could see Dad's hand stop the sword dead in its tracks.

Miyamura ignored my father and continued staring at me. His sword seemed to vibrate slightly before it shattered and broke in Dad's hand. My eyes widened. The sword… was it really that fragile? Dad's eyes widened in surprise and almost horror as he stared at his own hand.

To our surprise, the sword fragments didn't fall to the ground, but instead glowed slightly before shooting out in my direction. I immediately backed away as hundreds of Haki-infused sword fragments flew toward me. I dodged most of them, except for one that grazed my cheek.

"IZUMI!" "MIYAMURA!" the hunters shouted loudly. I could see Taylor Miyamura be the first to reach Miyamura; she grabbed him from behind and tried to pull him away. The hunter Tawata arrived next and grabbed Miyamura's wrist, trying to stop him. The sword was next. All the shards glowed and quickly transformed back into their human forms as they stared at Miyamura in disbelief.

Miyamura just kept frowning, but made no effort to break free.

"What was that?" Dad asked, dangerously and almost threateningly. "Is that how Japanese hunters operate?" Dad asked, taking a step forward.

"I'm sure this is a mistake," Chairwoman Go said, tensing up and stepping between the two groups. I could see Hanekawa quickly translating everything. Goto frowned.

"Miyamura, explain yourself." Goto grumbled, narrowing her eyes. We all looked at Miyamura cautiously; he remained silent before snorting. He shifted slightly to free himself, and they cautiously released themselves, though they remained slightly tense.

Miyamura just stared at me for a few moments before simply ducking down. To my surprise, I saw his hand disappear into his shadow, and then I felt it.

I felt a hand invade my Quirk. It was… completely disgusting. It… felt like an invasion, like a violation of my very soul, my own Quirk. The reaction was almost visceral. I shuddered with disgust as I felt it. I…

I had never felt my shadows like that before. Then I felt it. Something was pulling at me from within. I tried to pull the soldier away, but something gripped him with an iron will. To my surprise, Miyamura began pulling at his shadows, and my heart leapt.

I could see Miyamura pull the shadow soldier out of the shadows. He held him by the neck, staring intently at me, his gaze never leaving my eyes. Then he stood up, clenched his fist, and snapped the soldier's neck before throwing him at my feet.

I just stared at my dead shadow soldier, which began to fade away. Then I shuddered once more as I felt the same invasion again. I looked up to see Miyamura, who had approached his wife's shadow and was drawing out the other shadow soldier, easily killing it and throwing it at my feet once more.

Then he did the same with the other Japanese hunters. I just stood there completely still, my tension growing ever stronger. I could see the expressions of the Japanese hunters darkening more and more. By the time Miyamura finished, the tension was completely palpable.

"What does this mean?" Hanekawa, who seemed almost furious, translated Goto's words. No one answered; even Dad was tense, so Goto just looked at us one last time before turning and starting to walk away. The other S-Rank hunters glared at us, either furiously or suspiciously, before turning and following Goto.

Miyamura was the last to turn around, he only looked at me one last time before letting himself be dragged away by the two girls beside him.

We all remained silent as we watched the Japanese leave.

"Son," Dad said, his voice thick with frustration as he massaged his temple. I shuddered slightly at his tone. "What were you thinking?" he asked again. I grimaced.

"I…" I stammered before sighing. I was 23 years old, for crying out loud— and yet, he could still make me feel like a kid being scolded. "I was just testing my quirk," I said honestly. The others blinked in confusion.

"Testing your quirk?" asked Hunter Baek, frowning. I just nodded.

"My... shadow soldiers can move through people's shadows, and they're usually... undetectable," I said easily. "With... so many S-rank hunters, I was really curious if they'd be undetectable to them too, so... I just wanted to see." I grimaced before awkwardly looking at them and pointing at their shadows. "There are shadow soldiers in your shadows, too," I said clumsily.

It wasn't something I really wanted to admit, but it wasn't like I had any other options at the moment. The hunters jumped and stared at their shadows. I summoned my shadow soldiers who emerged from their shadows, which surprised them even more.

"Wow... I really didn't notice." Cha Hae -In, the huntress, said in surprise, though she didn't seem annoyed in the slightest.

"And you decided to try it on the Japanese," Chairwoman Go said simply. I just nodded.

"Goto-san, I didn't notice." I said honestly. President Go's eyes widened slightly.

"That... is a surprise," Chairwoman Go said with a humming tone. "And you weren't planning on doing anything wrong?" she asked, looking at me intently. I shook my head.

"No, I just let myself go. Once they're far enough away from me, my soldiers will come back to me; they weren't a threat." I said immediately. Chairwoman Go hummed before nodding.

"Until Miyamura realized it," said Chairwoman Go.

"Until he realized." Confirmed with a sigh. Dad just sighed.

"Miyamura has a shadow quirk," Dad finally said. I looked at him in surprise, but he just stared at me so dryly. "You'd know that if you read that info packet. In fact, you saw it during the fight against All For One. You forgot, didn't you? " he asked curtly. I froze, unable to stop myself from blushing slightly, and looked away. I could hear Dad's tired sigh and Chairwoman Go 's laughter. I just sighed.

"I guess that explains what I felt." I sighed aloud.

"Oh?" Dad asked curiously, I made a face.

"A... bad quirk interaction, I guess." I said, shuddering. "The shadows are... my, so to speak, even my soldiers, they're parts of me. When Miyamura grabbed them from the shadows, it was... it felt like someone was invading my quirk, my very soul. It was... completely disgusting. It almost made me want to throw up." I said with a grimace, shuddering at the memory.

"If you felt it, it's possible he felt it too, that's why he reacted so strongly," Dad finally said. I could only nod.

"It's the only thing I can think of," I said honestly.

"Miyamura... he seems relaxed, more so than all the other S-rank hunters. Whether it's a facade or not, I don't think he'd risk attacking you suddenly. If he felt the same way, or worse, then it's understandable that he attacked suddenly, especially if it came from someone he didn't know, much less someone who attacked unexpectedly." Chairwoman Go said with a frown. I could only nod.

"Yes, fine, Hunter Sung didn't mean any harm, and I don't mean to be a spoilsport, but this doesn't look good for the Japanese, especially less than four days before the raid," Hunter Lim said, frowning. I grimaced.

"I'm sorry," I said honestly with a sigh. Chairwoman Go hummed.

"I'll take care of it. Although I think it's obvious you won't be able to attend the raid, even though you'd already refused before," Chairwoman Go said matter-of-factly. That seemed to surprise the others.

"Thank you, Chairwoman Go. And I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to cause any trouble," I told Chairwoman Go honestly. She just smiled and shook her head.

"Don't worry," Chairwoman Go said matter-of-factly. After that, I had to talk to the other hunters and apologize to them. Breaking off relations with the Japanese was truly terrible, even if it was by mistake, and they were the ones who would have to go and fight alongside them on Jeju Island, so I felt guilty for making things even more difficult for them than the island itself already was.

"What are you looking for?" Dad asked as he drove the car toward home. I hummed while looking at my phone.

"Information on Miyamura," I said honestly.

"A little late, don't you think?" Dad said curtly. I ignored him as I continued reading. Ten Shadows. A quirk that allows him to control shadows in various ways, but its main use is that he can summon 10 different animals. So far, there were 6 known ones. And he can use them in different ways.

Apparently, he could fuse them together to make them more powerful and combine their abilities, or he could fuse with his summons to increase his power and gain new abilities. And much more. That's... interesting. He could even use his shadows to create objects somehow.

It seemed his quirk was much more flexible and versatile than mine. Curious. I quickly read through all the information before finding the details about the sword girl. Mai Zenin.

Registered as Miyamura's weapon, her Quirk, Creation, allowed her to create things, as well as transform herself into a sword. It also allowed her to create and switch between different sword forms. The only drawback was the exorbitant cost. That... was impressive.

Between his quirk and Zenin, Miyamura was able to fight with incredible flexibility. That… was truly impressive. And it really made me want to fight him without holding back.

I could only manage a slight smile at that. It was a shame it was highly unlikely to happen. Even so, I continued reading all the available information about Miyamura, both public and private, that I could access with my S-rank hunter credentials.

Sung Jinwoo Pov. – November 16

"Good morning." I greeted everyone as I took a seat at the table.

"Good morning, son," Mom greeted as she approached. "Your father told me about yesterday," she said, looking at me with a reproachful expression. I shuddered and glared at Dad, who simply stared boredly at the television without even blinking.

"It was a mistake, I already apologized." I sighed wearily, looking at Mom. She just snorted slightly while shaking her head.

"Wow, the day has finally come when Oppa admitted he made a mistake? Who would have thought. We should mark it on a calendar; it's a day to celebrate!" Jinah said as she approached with a cheeky, amused smile. I rolled my eyes as I heard Dad chuckle softly.

"Very funny, Jinah," I said dryly. She just laughed as she took a seat.

"It's fun, honey." I smiled warmly at the voice behind me. I glanced over my shoulder as I watched Johee approach with a smile. She placed a hand on my shoulder as she leaned down and kissed my cheek. "Good morning, Jinwoo," Johee said with a warm smile.

"Morning, Johee." I greeted my wife warmly, and we both smiled slightly. She finally pulled away, took the tablet she was holding, and handed it to Dad.

"Thank you, Johee," Dad said warmly, taking the tablet before starting to watch the news. Dad's eyes widened slightly. "Oh, you're suspended, Jinwoo, for the rest of the week," Dad said. My eyes widened.

"A suspension? I didn't think it was that serious," Mom said, worried.

"It isn't," Dad said immediately as he continued reading. "It's not important, but Gunhee has to punish Jinwoo somehow, at least visibly and publicly, at least to appease the Japanese in some way. He can't risk it with the Jeju raid just around the corner," Dad said seriously. I just frowned, but nodded.

"And what does that mean... that I'm suspended?" Johee asked as he took a seat next to me, placing his hand on mine.

"Nothing to worry about. You just can't enter the dungeons until your suspension is over," Dad said, handing me the tablet. I took it and started reading the message. I could only sigh wearily as I put the tablet down.

"Fine," I said resignedly. It's not like I can complain about something I did.

"It wouldn't hurt you to spend a week away from the dungeons," Mom finally said. I just nodded.

"So... since you won't be busy for the rest of the week, we could go on some dates," Johee said shyly, smiling at me from beside me. I paused before smiling warmly at her and nodded.

"Let's do it," I said to Johee with a smile. Her expression lit up, and she made me smile even more warmly. It really had been a while since we'd gone out together; it would be a good idea to spend the rest of the week with Johee.

" Aww, they punish Oppa at work and give him time off, and he and Johee can go on dates, but I still have to go to school?" Jinah complained. I looked at Jinah with a smug, superior smile. She just glared at me.

"Don't bother your sister, Jinwoo," Johee said playfully as she kissed my cheek. "I'll go make breakfast, then we can go on our date," Johee said cheerfully as she stood up.

"Let me help you, Johee," Mom said, standing up. "The goddess knows the men in this house can barely cook," Mom said dryly. Dad and I grimaced. Jinah laughed.

"I don't know what you're laughing at, Jinah. At least I can cook better than you," I said dryly. Jinah stuck her tongue out at me.

"I'm an 18-year-old girl, you're a 23-year-old man, that's not the defense you expect," Jinah mocked. My eye twitched slightly. I was about to reply when the doorbell rang.

We looked at each other, confused, when we heard the doorbell ring. It was unusual for someone to ring so early in the morning.

"I'll see who it is," Jinah said as she jumped out of her seat and ran towards the door. I just blinked, about to send my shadow soldiers in, when Johee gave me a light shove. I looked at her curiously as she just snorted amusedly.

"Um... Dad? I think it's for you? " Jinah said, returning to the dining room after a few seconds. We all looked at them, confused.

"Do you think so?" Dad asked, confused. Jinah just gave us a strange look.

"He's... a handsome boy," Jinah said with a strange look. " And I think he's foreign... what does 'Yahallo' mean?" Jinah asked, confused. Dad and I froze before exchanging incredulous glances. Then we both ran to the door. Dad flung it open, and there he was, Izumi Miyamura, with a huge grin.

"Yahallo!" Miyamura greeted us, waving his hand. I could see Mai and Taylor behind him, their faces showing resignation and apologies. Miyamura just laughed and tried to look behind us. "Where did that cute girl from earlier go?" Miyamura asked cheerfully. I could only stare at him in disbelief.

What the hell were you doing here!?

Author's Notes: And in the next chapter, our hero Sung Jinwoo will be trapped in the fearsome hands of Izumi Miyamura. What awaits our hero? Will he manage to stay sane or will he try to kill Izumi? Find out next week.

Joking aside. I really didn't expect to write these three chapters from Sung Jinwoo's POV, but they seemed more appropriate. There's still one more chapter about this, maybe two if it gets drawn out, but I shouldn't.
