Chapter 100: Soul Liquid
Enzo lit a cigarette to celebrate the level-up.
He observed Violet. This time, both of her hands were clutching her head.
Her Stamina, Mana, and everything else were still full, but her mind was under tremendous strain.
It could be considered an injury to a specific part of her body.
However, because it involved her mind, C-Regen might not be effective.
’There has to be a solution. It’s time for me to go shopping,’ he thought.
He had an enormous amount of money, yet he had barely purchased any resources.
C-Regen was expensive, but he needed to buy more of it. There was also Mana Extract. He needed a large stockpile so Violet wouldn’t be hindered whenever she decided to teleport.
According to his plan, the portal had to be carried by him personally.
After all, if Violet teleported from outside into the Sanctuary, the portal would effectively be left outside.
Although Violet could return to that portal, Enzo would lose control of her because he wouldn’t be able to see her. He was the one actually controlling the portal through the Ring of Star.
Who knew what might happen if the portal were left outside, even in a hidden location?
It was much safer in Enzo’s hands.
He could send Violet out and have her return to him. The only thing that mattered was having enough Mana.
Violet traveled back to the Sanctuary while still holding her head.
Meanwhile, Enzo searched the internet for information, looking for items that could heal mental injuries or damage to the mind—in other words, anything related to the brain.
Although Violet seemed to be recovering on her own, the process was slow. If the damage became too severe, who knew whether she would be able to recover at all?
Fortunately, his search revealed that such an item really did exist.
Soul Liquid.
It had an extraordinary effect on the brain and was sold in 10-milliliter bottles, with each bottle costing as much as 100,000 dollars.
Compared to that, 100 milliliters of Mana Extract only cost around 10,000 dollars.
One hundred milliliters of Mana Extract was essentially equivalent to the amount of Mana an Awakener with 100 Intelligence could release.
Of course, it was cheap because its uses were limited to providing energy for external objects.
The reason Soul Liquid was so expensive was because it was produced from monster souls absorbed by Awakeners with extremely rare abilities.
Its production was severely limited while demand was far greater.
Not even every shop sold it. Only truly large stores had it in stock.
Fortunately, there were still places where it could be purchased with money.
Enzo opened the website of one of the major stores that had Soul Liquid in stock—G-A Shop.
It was the largest chain in America.
Now that he thought about it, he suspected that it might belong to the Grimoire Alliance.
To this day, it was still unclear what the G and A in the store’s name actually stood for.
But it didn’t matter who owned it. After all, Violet was the one who had business with the alliance, and they didn’t even know that Violet was the person causing them trouble.
’Ten bottles of Soul Liquid. 10,000 milliliters of Mana Extract, and ten bottles of Level 3 C-Regen.’
Enzo made a list of his purchases.
The total came to 2.2 million dollars.
He made the purchase under his own name and asked the store to deliver everything to his address—the Monster Prison in Sanctuary 1.
With his increasing strength, he had become less concerned about hiding his actions.
Besides, this wasn’t difficult to explain.
He could simply claim that he had made the purchase on Charlotte’s or Rebecca’s orders.
Afterward, he focused on controlling Violet and making her return to the Sanctuary as quickly as possible.
Although the distance was considerable, she didn’t need too long when running at high speed.
She was still holding her head, but now she only needed one hand, which indicated that she was recovering.
Using Invisible Mode, Violet smoothly returned to her post.
Enzo then pulled her into his body first.
His body was her origin, and it was the place where she could recover the fastest.
Sitting alone, Enzo looked at the portal he had released inside the post.
He hadn’t examined it yet.
Now, he finally had the chance.
He stepped into the portal and arrived in a dark space that immediately began absorbing his Mana.
The portal gave him a sense of a vast surrounding area, although it didn’t allow him to see the way Violet’s Fluctuation ability did.
The more Mana it absorbed, the larger the area he could sense became.
He could then choose where he wanted to teleport within that area.
Determining the exact destination wasn’t easy at all.
Enzo shook his head, stepped backward, and reappeared inside the portal.
Naturally, the Mana absorbed by the portal couldn’t be returned to his body.
However, it remained stored inside the portal and could be used later.
"The Ring of Star really is priceless... But why can’t it control the Sanctuary’s portal?" he muttered, wondering.
Both were portals.
There shouldn’t have been any difference.
Could it be because the Sanctuary’s portal was simply too large for the Ring of Star to control?
After all, it was a portal between worlds.
Enzo couldn’t figure it out.
Of course, it was also possible that he wasn’t truly using the Ring of Star.
So far, he had merely become its wielder.
Yet because of the Ring of Star’s incredible power, simply holding it allowed him to control the smaller portal.
"Mm..." He noticed a familiar face approaching.
A man only one year older than him, with dark blond hair and a handsome face.
William Walton, the son of Paul Walton.
The man walked up to the post and knocked on the door.
"Enzo Muller, I’m from G-A Shop!" his voice echoed.
Enzo gave him a strange look.
They had never met before, yet they were already connected by two different karmic ties.
The first was because he was Paul’s son.
The second was because Violet had recorded him having an affair with his girlfriend in the forest.
’Does he really work as a courier for G-A Shop?’
Enzo stood up and opened the door with a calm expression, while the man furrowed his brows.
"You’re the one who placed the order?" he asked.
"Isn’t it obvious? Am I not allowed to shop at G-A Shop?" Enzo replied with a strange expression.
Inside, he was simply laughing.
"Where are the items? I paid quite a lot for them." Enzo extended his hand.
When asked where the items were, William had no choice but to place a ring into Enzo’s palm.
The purchase came with a Storage Artifact as a bonus, though it had the smallest storage capacity available.
"Don’t overthink it. I made this purchase on the orders of someone powerful enough to easily destroy you and even your father. I know you’re Paul Walton’s son."
Enzo smiled before closing the door without giving the man a chance to respond.
William was naturally stunned, frozen in front of the closed door.
Enzo paid him no further attention once he saw what was inside the ring.
C-Regen wasn’t particularly interesting to him.
The other two items were what caught his attention.
The Mana Extract came in large bottles filled with a thick blue liquid.
As for the Soul Liquid, it was a transparent liquid—so transparent that it was almost impossible to see.
Enzo took out one of the bottles.
It had a pointed tip.
Considering how little it contained and how valuable it was, the bottle naturally couldn’t be opened.
To drink it, one simply had to suck the liquid through the tip of the bottle.
After examining it for a moment, Enzo immediately became certain of its function.
Meanwhile, William, who was still outside the door, finally left.
Enzo’s words had confused him and even made him somewhat angry, but he wasn’t someone qualified to cause a commotion.
So he left.
After he was gone, Enzo released Violet from his body.
There was no point in trying the Soul Liquid now because Violet had already completely recovered to her normal condition.
Enzo handed all the items he had purchased to Violet.
"It’s time to continue," he said.
Then he released the portal from his own ring.
Violet immediately stepped inside.
Although determining the exact destination was difficult, it became easy once he was familiar with the location.
For example, the Level 20 boundary river was a place where Enzo could roughly estimate the distance, making it relatively easy to target.
Whoosh!
A gust of wind from inside the portal indicated that Violet had been transported.
She appeared only about twenty meters from the river.
Enzo could even see the nearly collapsed wooden bridge held together by the roots of trees.
That was the Tree Father’s base.
After using the portal, Violet became connected to it.
She could return as long as she had enough Mana.
The river was relatively close. One hundred Mana Extract was more than enough.
That amount could even be supplied by Violet’s own Mana.
As for the location where she had killed the two snakes, it would probably require around 300.
Considering Violet’s current strength, Enzo became curious whether she could kill the Tree Father.
But he quickly dismissed the thought.
The Tree Father had probably become even stronger.
Fighting it now would be somewhat risky.
However, just as Violet was about to continue forward, it suddenly appeared.
