Hello, Comrade. I'm Here to Marry You!

Chapter 220: Wronged Su Zhaozhao

Seeing that Su Zhaozhao was relieved after her inspection, Xie Huaizheng reached out, pulled her into his arms, and pressed her down onto the bed.

A shadow fell over her, obscuring her vision. Su Zhaozhao knew what Xie Huaizheng was thinking.

’But not now.’

She reached out and poked Xie Huaizheng’s shoulder. "No, no. You’re injured."

She knew they hadn’t been intimate in so long. Once Xie Huaizheng got going, he would be terrifyingly wild.

Besides, this was an old house. The soundproofing wasn’t that good.

If they really made a ruckus, her grandparents would probably hear everything.

Furthermore, this wooden bed was quite old. It looked sturdy, but she wasn’t sure if it could handle the weight of them both.

Xie Huaizheng felt wronged by Su Zhaozhao’s rejection, but he didn’t let her go.

Xie Huaizheng lowered his gaze and kissed Su Zhaozhao’s lips.

"Let me just have a few kisses to satisfy my craving," Xie Huaizheng said before his lips found hers again.

The ferocious kiss left Su Zhaozhao struggling to keep up.

She felt like Xie Huaizheng was going to eat her alive.

At that moment, she was like a small boat on a vast ocean, tossed by a raging storm, utterly lost as to what to do.

Su Zhaozhao tried her best to respond to Xie Huaizheng, but even she found his overwhelming presence a little hard to handle.

For some reason, in that instant, Su Zhaozhao suddenly felt that Xie Huaizheng seemed to lack a sense of security.

’Is it because we haven’t seen each other in so long?’

That must be why he was so desperately demanding of her. But she didn’t want to do *that* while he was injured.

So, he had found another way to torment her.

In the end, Su Zhaozhao lay limply on the bed, letting Xie Huaizheng hold her.

Her hand couldn’t help but pound on Xie Huaizheng’s chest, carefully avoiding the spot on his arm where he was injured.

She felt too weak to even lift her arm properly as she grumbled, "You really are a beast!"

"Yes, I’m a beast," Xie Huaizheng replied, a look of pure satisfaction on his face as he grabbed Su Zhaozhao’s hand and kissed it twice.

He wrapped his arms around her, cocooning her completely in his embrace.

"Let’s sleep, Zhaozhao."

He was truly tired, too.

He hadn’t gotten much sleep while on his mission. And today, after finally completing it, he had heard some bad news...

His emotions had been on a rollercoaster, with no chance to rest.

It wasn’t until now, holding Su Zhaozhao in his arms and feeling her with him, that Xie Huaizheng could finally breathe a sigh of relief.

’I want it to always be like this,’ he thought. ’I want Zhaozhao by my side. I really don’t want to lose her.’

Su Zhaozhao felt much the same.

For days, she had been constantly worried about Xie Huaizheng, afraid he would get hurt on his mission.

She’d even been having nightmares, waking up every night in a cold sweat.

Thankfully, Xie Huaizheng was here now. He was safe, just a little injured.

She could finally sleep peacefully.

When Su Zhaozhao woke up, it was already 10:30 the next morning.

Su Zhaozhao had been waking up early for the past few days; this was the first time she had slept in so late.

But to her surprise, Xie Huaizheng, who always woke up before her, was still holding her and fast asleep.

His eyes were shut tight, and he seemed to be in a deep slumber.

Su Zhaozhao was a little shocked. This was the first time she’d ever seen Xie Huaizheng sleep in so late!

However, her stirring woke him.

The man opened a pair of hazy eyes and looked at Su Zhaozhao. "You’re awake?"

"Yeah. What about you? Want to sleep a little longer?"

’I should probably get up,’ she thought.

Xie Huaizheng sat up with Su Zhaozhao and glanced at the clock on the wall.

He hadn’t expected to sleep for so long, either.

This seemed to be a first for him, too.

’It’s probably because of yesterday’s emotional rollercoaster, plus the injury,’ he mused. ’That must be why I was so tired.’

After the two of them got ready, they came out of the room.

When Li Chunhong saw them, she immediately said, "Zhaozhao, Huai Zheng, I’ve made breakfast. It’s soup dumplings, and they’re in the kitchen."

"Okay, thanks, Grandma," Su Zhaozhao said to Li Chunhong with a smile.

Li Chunhong had made the soup dumplings herself. They had a thin, delicate skin, and when Su Zhaozhao bit into one, she was surprised to find they were crab roe buns!

Even in modern times, these weren’t cheap.

Su Zhaozhao figured they must be expensive in this era, too.

But they were so fragrant and absolutely delicious.

Xie Huaizheng was also a little surprised. "It’s crab roe?"

Su Zhaozhao nodded. "Yeah."

’Oh my gosh. Grandma must have picked out all this crab roe by hand. And it’s surprisingly delicious.’

"The hairy crabs were a gift from your Second Aunt this morning. Her family specializes in raising them. What do you think? Delicious, right?"

Su Zhaozhao nodded. "Delicious."

’It would be great if I could eat these again in the future.’

"It’s crab season right now, too. When you two head back to West State, you should take some with you, maybe?"

Su Zhaozhao looked a little troubled when she heard Li Chunhong.

She did want to eat more, but the journey was long. ’Wouldn’t the crabs die easily?’

And you couldn’t eat dead crabs.

As if sensing Su Zhaozhao’s concern, Li Chunhong immediately said, "Don’t worry. If you like them, I can pick out all the meat, steam it, and you can take it with you. It’ll keep for a few days that way."

’That’s a great idea!’

Su Zhaozhao’s eyes instantly lit up.

You couldn’t get any seafood or freshwater delicacies in West State, but you could in Jiang City.

So, she had to eat as much as she could while she was here in Jiang City.

Listening to their exchange, Xie Huaizheng thought of something and couldn’t help but press his lips together.

Su Zhaozhao was from Jiang City, and the food culture there was worlds apart from that in West State.

Here, people loved meat, freshwater delicacies, and seafood, as well as refined dishes. But West State was different—it was mostly carbs, beef, and mutton.

He remembered how Su Zhaozhao had eaten mostly fish last night. She must have felt so deprived living over there.

’Maybe I should have someone order more,’ he thought. ’We can’t take the live crabs, but we could process the meat into crab roe paste or something. That would be easy to preserve.’

Crab roe paste was delicious mixed with rice or noodles.

After they finished eating, Su Zhaozhao said to Xie Huaizheng, "Let me take you for a walk. We can also try some of Jiang City’s street food."

According to the original owner’s memories, Xie Huaizheng hadn’t had many chances to visit Jiang City.

Those visits were all when he was a child. In recent years, Jiang City had changed dramatically.

Of course, she herself hadn’t really explored it, either.

After all, she wasn’t the body’s original owner.

"Okay," Xie Huaizheng said with a smile.

And so, they headed out.

Su Zhaozhao walked beside him, leading the way. "We can go to the scenic spot near the city center first."
