Hello, Comrade. I'm Here to Marry You!

Chapter 163: Like a Puppy Acting Spoiled and Cute

At this point, Xie Huaizheng felt that no matter what Su Zhaozhao wanted to do, he would support her unconditionally.

Xie Huaizheng poured Su Zhaozhao a glass of water. As she drank, she glanced toward the kitchen. "But I feel like we’re still a little short on things here. I’d like to go into the city to buy a few items."

"Then wait until I’m on leave, and I’ll go with you."

Ever since the last incident, Xie Huaizheng couldn’t feel at ease letting Su Zhaozhao travel far on her own.

It was better around here, as it was all part of the military district where security was strict. The city, however, was more chaotic.

A pretty young woman like her, walking around alone outside—who knew how many people would have their eyes on her.

"But that’s so much trouble," Su Zhaozhao mumbled.

The main issue was, if she went out with Xie Huaizheng, she wouldn’t have a plausible way to take things out of her personal space.

She had planned on taking some things out from her space to use, casually explaining them away as nice things she’d found and bought at a street stall.

But now, she couldn’t.

"It’s no trouble, Zhaozhao. I can’t let you go by yourself. Let’s wait a couple of days, until you’ve recovered your strength."

Xie Huaizheng caressed Su Zhaozhao’s cheek, his gaze burning with a fervent heat as he looked at her.

The air seemed to grow heavy with intimacy again.

Su Zhaozhao cleared her throat. "Aren’t you going to get some rest? You didn’t sleep much last night, either."

"Alright. Will you stay with me?"

Su Zhaozhao was surprised. "But I just woke up."

But Xie Huaizheng had already swept Su Zhaozhao into his arms. "Just lie down with me for a little while. I’ll leave in an hour."

The man’s voice held a pleading, almost wheedling tone that made Su Zhaozhao’s heart melt.

Since Xie Huaizheng had put it like that, she couldn’t bring herself to refuse.

’Right now, Xie Huaizheng is really like a little puppy, acting cute and begging its owner for affection and cuddles.’

In the end, the two lay on the bed. With his arms around Su Zhaozhao, Xie Huaizheng quickly drifted off to sleep.

It would have been a lie to say he wasn’t exhausted.

Su Zhaozhao tilted her head, gazing at the man’s refined features. In his sleep, he lost his usual cold, intimidating air, replaced by a much gentler expression.

’But no matter how he looks, he’s so handsome.’

Su Zhaozhao couldn’t resist gently stroking his brow.

The next moment, however, the man caught her hand.

He didn’t wake up, but subconsciously pulled her deeper into his embrace, his long limbs wrapping tightly around her.

Held fast in Xie Huaizheng’s arms like this, Su Zhaozhao couldn’t help but want to laugh.

’I feel like I’ve really become his personal doll.’

But even though she had just woken up, her body still hadn’t fully recovered. She had only intended to lie with Xie Huaizheng for a little while.

But as she lay there, she unexpectedly started to feel drowsy herself. Eventually, she couldn’t fight it and closed her eyes, drifting back to sleep.

When Xie Huaizheng awoke, he saw Su Zhaozhao’s eyes were also closed, her face serene in sleep. He couldn’t help but lean over and press a kiss to her forehead.

Su Zhaozhao was sleeping lightly, and the kiss woke her.

Her large eyes, still hazy with sleep, looked like those of a fawn.

Seeing her like this made Xie Huaizheng’s heart flutter, and he wanted to keep kissing her.

’My wife’s cheeks are so kissable, her forehead is so kissable, her lips are so kissable, too.’

’I love every part of her.’

However, he couldn’t do anything more, or he’d be late for sure.

So, Xie Huaizheng quickly reined in those thoughts.

He scrambled out of bed, changed his clothes, and said to Su Zhaozhao, "Zhaozhao, I’ll be back tonight. If you get bored, why not read a book? Those on the desk are some I bought a while ago. I’m not sure if there’s anything you’ll like."

"Okay." Su Zhaozhao didn’t get up, just watched as the man quickly changed.

’I have to admit, he looks incredibly handsome in his uniform.’

’He’s tall, with a perfectly straight posture.’

After Xie Huaizheng left and the door was locked, Su Zhaozhao lay in bed for a while longer.

’This kind of life isn’t so bad. No work, sleeping in, eating your fill and then sleeping, waking up and then eating.’

’But life like this wouldn’t be the same with just anyone.’

’If only Xie Huaizheng could learn to restrain himself a little in... that department.’

’It’s gotten to the point where I’m a little afraid of it, especially since my body hasn’t fully recovered yet.’

Su Zhaozhao stroked her bracelet and entered her personal space.

The space was already full of supplies.

The crops on the black soil had been harvested, one wave after another.

She had no chance to sell them right now. To make money in the future, she figured she could only do business with the military district’s elementary school, or see if any restaurants in the nearby town needed produce.

But she wasn’t in a hurry right now.

In the future, when she started cooking for herself, she could just take all these fruits and vegetables from her space.

’They’re fresh, high-quality, and free.’

Su Zhaozhao first drank a large bottle of spiritual spring water.

The sweet, refreshing taste of the spiritual spring water cleared her mind completely.

She then used more spiritual spring water to cleanse her body.

The marks Xie Huaizheng had left on her faded considerably.

Her skin became even more delicate as well.

Most importantly, the areas that had been sore no longer hurt.

After all that, Su Zhaozhao went into the gaming room in her space, played some games for a while, and caught up on a TV series.

Munching on potato chips while watching a cliché soap opera, she lost track of time, and most of the afternoon slipped away.

’As expected, this kind of relaxation really makes time fly.’

’But it’s so much fun!’

「Elsewhere.」

After finishing his training, Xie Huaizheng went to the guest house. He went to Su Zhaozhao’s room to help her pack up all her belongings.

Most of what Su Zhaozhao had was clothes.

She hadn’t seemed to bring much luggage with her, but now... he wasn’t sure if she had bought new clothes or if he just hadn’t noticed at first, but by the time he finished packing them, he had filled two large bags.

Xie Huaizheng also packed the remaining daily necessities, medicine, quilts, and other such items.

But there was no way he could move it all in one trip. It took Xie Huaizheng two round trips to get all her luggage packed up.

He also told Yu Huijun that Su Zhaozhao would be checking out.

Yu Huijun was a bit surprised to hear this. "Oh? So suddenly?"

Su Zhaozhao had been living here for over a month. She always greeted her when she returned and sometimes even brought her snacks.

And that wasn’t all. She absolutely loved the hair flower Su Zhaozhao had given her before. She’d even managed to sell some through her own contacts, earning a small bit of money.

Hearing that Su Zhaozhao wouldn’t be living here anymore, she actually felt a little sad.

Xie Huaizheng hadn’t expected Yu Huijun to be so reluctant to see her go. ’It seems Zhaozhao is quite popular.’

"Yes, we’re married now, so of course we have to live together," Xie Huaizheng told Yu Huijun.

"That’s true. A husband and wife should live together, of course," Yu Huijun said, nodding.

"You’re living together now?" a voice interjected from the side.

Xie Huaizheng turned his head and saw Gu Qingran.
