Chapter 423 - 410: Fighting the Robbers
Three men bundled up in winter coats waited at the entrance of an alley the children were about to pass through.
But they never expected those kids to have such enormous appetites!
The group of kids huddled together, eating BBQ and drinking Wang Zai Milk.
It almost looked like a group of adults drinking beer, and the scene was quite lively.
It even drew the attention of several passersby.
"Wow... Jiaojiao, your belly is so tiny! How can you fit so much food in there?"
What’s more, they saw that her belly hadn’t bulged out at all.
Yun Jiao said, "I always eat a lot."
"Then how come you’re not fat at all?"
Yun Jiao replied, "I don’t know. I just don’t seem to gain weight."
When they were finally done eating, they followed Chen Xiaopang’s lead and went to buy some roast duck.
The three men watching them were shivering uncontrollably in the cold wind.
"ACHOO! Where... where are they off to now?"
"Wherever they’re going, they have to... have to go home eventually. We’ll... just... ACHOO... wait here."
He could barely get the words out.
Yun Jiao and her friends bought roast duck—two whole ones, in fact.
They also bought a few other things they liked, and only when all their allowance money was spent did they head back, completely satisfied.
"Jiaojiao, have you ever had roast duck? I can show you how to wrap it up to eat."
Yun Jiao nodded. "I’ve had it before."
The kids chatted among themselves as they walked back.
On a freezing day like this, most people stayed indoors unless they absolutely had to go to work.
It was only because they were craving snacks that these kids had ventured out at all.
As a result, the streets were mostly empty, and the entrances to the several alleys on their way home were completely deserted.
Suddenly, three large men rushed out, each man grabbing a child.

The children who’d been seized struggled, while the ones who were still free rushed forward to help.
"Lao San, use the knockout drug, quick!"
The man called Lao San, who was holding Yun Jiao, hurriedly pulled out a handkerchief soaked with a knockout drug, preparing to knock out the child in his hands first.

The man was caught completely off guard. The punch landed squarely on the bridge of his nose, and the sudden, sharp pain made his vision go black.

His grip on Yun Jiao loosened.
But she wasn’t done. Yun Jiao leaped up and drove a foot into his stomach.
The force of the blow sent the man called Lao San flying several meters away.
For an instant, the air seemed to freeze. Everyone, both the kidnappers and the children, stared at her in stunned silence.
Yun Jiao’s gaze quickly shifted to the other men.
She rushed toward another man, planted one hand on the ground, and swept her leg out, aiming for his ankles.
He instantly lost his footing and toppled backward.
THUD!
The sound of the back of his head smacking against the ground was sickeningly solid.
The two children he had been holding also fell on top of him, knocking the wind out of him so completely that he couldn’t even manage a pained cry.
Yun Jiao leaned over and pressed a pressure point on his neck, knocking him out completely.
One man was left.
By the time Yun Jiao looked over, the man had already turned to flee.
’Good heavens, where did this little monster come from?!’
’Both of his buddies were down. He wasn’t about to chalk it up to coincidence or think the kid just got lucky.’

Yun Jiao’s eyes scanned the area. She spotted half a brick, picked it up, aimed, and with a casual flick of her little arm, she threw it.
The man, who was already more than two hundred meters away, was hit directly. He let out a scream and collapsed to the ground.
Yun Jiao dusted off her hands. ’Problem solved.’
When she turned back, she found her friends staring at her, their eyes wide and mouths agape.
"What are you all gawking at? Go get your parents! We need to take these three traffickers to the police station, quickly."
Xu Rong and the others snapped out of it. "Right, right, right! I’ll get my dad."
Xu Rong added, "I’ll stay here with Jiaojiao and keep an eye on them. The rest of you, hurry and get help!"
Once he snapped out of his daze, he felt a wave of delayed fear. That was too close. If it hadn’t been for Jiaojiao, they would have been captured.
He turned his head to look for Yun Jiao. Huh? Where’d she go?
Yun Jiao had gone to knock out the trafficker who’d run far away, and was now dragging him back.
Attracted by the commotion, a few people from nearby ran over. They saw two children standing over three adults lying on the ground.
The man who had been hit by the piece of brick was even bleeding.
"Wh-what’s going on here?!"
Xu Rong explained, "They’re traffickers! They tried to kidnap us."
The adults: ???
Huh? Traffickers? Kidnapping children?
But this scene didn’t look like a kidnapping in the slightest.
After all, the three supposed traffickers looked far too pathetic.
