Everyday Romance After Becoming a Billionaire

Chapter 214 - 129: Girlfriend in Training

"Yeah, I know. That was my mistake earlier. I apologize again."

"It’s fine. A misunderstanding was bound to happen under the circumstances. As long as the truth is out, that’s all that matters. You don’t have to keep apologizing, Class President... Um... Sister Zhou said she wants to work with me long-term. From now on, she’ll call me for any outdoor photoshoots, so I won’t have to work part-time anymore. That means I’ll have more time to study..."

In the car, Shen Qingning chattered excitedly about making money. Before she knew it, the car had pulled up to the entrance of a high-end Western restaurant in Jiangning.

After getting out of the Aston Martin, she followed the Class President into the restaurant. As the manager walked them to their table, rattling off the day’s specials, Shen Qingning realized her Class President was a regular here. He came to this high-end restaurant often. She couldn’t help but envy wealthy people like him, who could so freely enjoy life’s pleasures and sample the world’s finest cuisines. ’A single meal for him costs as much as I make in a month or two of part-time work,’ she thought. But after seeing the menu, she realized she’d underestimated things. It wasn’t one or two months’ worth of work—it was half a year’s.

Shen Qingning refused to order, saying it was too expensive. She suggested they go eat at a seafood buffet stall outside instead, and that it would be her treat.

"You can treat me next time. This one’s on me." Su Ran ordered a whole Australian lobster, then added the daily specials. Instead of alcohol, he ordered a bottle of fruit juice. "That should be all."

"Right away, Mr. Su." The manager took the menu and departed.

Shen Qingning did a quick calculation. It was over ten thousand yuan. ’So expensive.’

"Class President, I’d like to toast you with this juice for bringing me to such a luxurious meal," Shen Qingning said. "This is my first time eating at a proper Western restaurant."

Su Ran replied, "You work so hard. I’m sure you’ll be very wealthy one day. Then you’ll be able to eat at any fancy restaurant you want."

"Okay, I’ll hold you to that. Cheers!" She chugged the entire glass of juice, then stuck out her tongue to lick the corner of her mouth. Su Ran chuckled. "You downed that whole glass. Are you planning on skipping the food?"

"Isn’t that what ’cheers’ means?"

"Haha, alright then. Cheers."

Su Ran downed his glass in one go as well.

Soon, the appetizer steaks were served. When Su Ran noticed Shen Qingning struggling to cut hers, he cut up the steak on his own plate and swapped it with hers. "Here, have mine."

"Thank you, Class President." She felt mortified that she couldn’t even cut a steak. She lifted her head to look into Su Ran’s eyes and found not a hint of ridicule. "There’s nothing to be embarrassed about," Su Ran said. "It’s like how Westerners can’t use chopsticks. They don’t feel ashamed about it, so why should we feel ashamed about not being able to cut a steak?"

Shen Qingning nodded. "I understand, Class President..."

「After dinner.」

Su Ran drove her back to the university. "Bye." Shen Qingning said her farewell, pushed open the car door, and hurried toward the girls’ dormitory. She was afraid someone might see them and get the wrong idea. After walking a short distance, however, she couldn’t resist sneaking a glance back. She saw Su Ran get out of the car as well and head for the boys’ dormitory.

Classes were starting tomorrow, and all his roommates were back, so Su Ran planned to stay in the dorm that night. He pushed open the door to find the three oddballs each absorbed in their own activities.

Wang Dachui was pumping dumbbells, working on his biceps. He claimed that "the ladies love muscles."

Zeng Cao was poring over a copy of *Feng Shui*, absorbing its secrets. He was likely hoping that once he mastered the art, he could follow in his senior’s footsteps, raid an Imperial Mausoleum, and make a name for himself that would shake the world.

Cao Chen Hansheng Wo was sitting on his bed with a lecherous grin, hitting on some girl on his phone.

Su Ran walked in and placed the leftover Australian lobster from the restaurant on the table. "Eat up, while it’s still hot." With that, he grabbed some clothes from his wardrobe and headed for a shower.

The guys in the other dorm rooms were seriously jealous of the oddballs in Room 404. They got to live the high life, all thanks to their ’rich second-generation’ roommate.

Of course, not everyone was a fan of Su Ran. Plenty of people bad-mouthed him behind his back, but Su Ran couldn’t care less what others thought. A few times, however, Cao Wo overheard them and marched right up to slap the guys twice across the face. Cao Wo had a notoriously short fuse and never thought about the consequences. ’You dare talk smack about my brother? Who else am I gonna hit?’ That was just his personality; there was no talking him out of it.

Night fell. The lights in Room 404 went out, and four cell phone screens lit up.

Cao Wo: "Hey, Class President, that junior, Wang Yanan, what’s she like?"

Su Ran: "Wang Yanan? You mean the vice-president of the manga club?"

Cao Wo: "Yeah, that’s the one! I ran into her on the bus back to campus today. We hit it off, so I got her WeChat. I’m planning to make my move."

Su Ran: "...Oh."

Everyone knew this guy Cao Wo had a silver tongue. After studying ’Chen Hansheng’, he had practically reached the ’Nascent Soul Stage’ of picking up girls, a five-star master. He’d "conquered" his fair share of upperclasswomen at the university. Of course, all this was predicated on him being handsome; otherwise, none of those older girls would have given him the time of day.

"She’s alright. Do what you want." Su Ran didn’t get involved in other people’s personal lives or judge who was playing whom. After all, Cao Wo was a known player, and the girls knew it too. It was a mutual arrangement, each getting what they wanted, just having some fun for the novelty of it. You couldn’t really say one was playing the other, because love was never part of the equation.

*Sigh...*

Su Ran sighed. ’If only I were a player, too,’ he thought.

’Then I could live a carefree life like Cao Wo.’

Wang Dachui: "Cao Wo, I’m fucking dying to know. The semester’s almost over. How many girls have you actually slept with?"

Cao Wo, looking incredibly proud of himself, said, "Five! Two freshmen, one sophomore, one junior, and a shot-putter from the sports institute next door."

Huh?

The others were stunned. They gave him a thumbs-up. ’Damn, dude.’

Wang Dachui: "Sigh... I haven’t even held a girl’s hand."

Zeng Cao: "Shallow. Women are useless."

Wang Dachui shot him a look. That guy was completely obsessed with tomb raiding. In his eyes, a desiccated corpse was more exciting than a beautiful woman in a bikini.
