Spider-Trinity: Reborn Into Marvel Universe

Chapter 162: Shocked

Quickly, he thought back and remembered the lines that entity had always left behind.

Now more than ever, he understood the saying that names have power.

Somehow, he had caught that entity’s attention, which was worrying because he now knew who the woman he had seen for a few seconds was.

But what kept him alarmed was whether she had planned something, considering she had been present after he killed Osborn and the others.

He was worried that if he killed someone truly important, she might take a more direct interest.

Osborn’s death, Richards’ death, and Silvermane’s death were the biggest catalysts, now that he thought about it.

But he had more faith that she was on his side because the tattoo was a gift from her. Even so, he would now have to be more careful about the promise he had made to Cassandra not to kill anyone important.

Even with that, he would continue eliminating petty criminals who were like cockroaches. Remove one, and two more crawl out of the hole.

"And the other thing is that your arrival, and you know what I am talking about, was a stroke of luck for us."

The man said this, making Peter raise an eyebrow and relax slightly.

"If you had not arrived and reinforced the body with your soul, making it more suitable for us, we would have had to go to limbo and wait for a body strong enough to appear.

We thought we had found the right one, but after that night, everything went wrong. It is not the first time it has happened, but it is tedious. That is why I thank you. I cannot stand being in the limbo of souls."

"So, basically, you are very lucky parasites," Peter said.

The man grimaced at the description.

"Yes. I forgot to introduce myself."

"I was wondering how much longer you were going to take."

"I am Raizó Hasashi. I belonged to a clan of ninjas, one of the most powerful in its time."

"What happened?"

"I eliminated them. But some escaped to other clans, blending into their ranks. I was one of the best apprentices. They trained me to be a living weapon. I learned stealth techniques unlike any seen before, along with mastery of the katana, shuriken, kunai, kusarigama, and many other weapons."

"Why did you kill them?"

"They killed the only person I could have ever loved. Over time, I hid my hatred for the clan and trained under their tutelage, waiting for the moment I could turn their own techniques against them. When the opportunity came, I escaped. I trained diligently for years, waiting for the perfect moment. With the help of a police officer friend, I accomplished my mission. I eliminated almost every ninja from the clan I once belonged to, and I finally found peace."

"How did you die?"

"I was ambushed by members of another clan called the Hand1. They were worthy opponents."

Upon hearing that name, Peter tensed slightly.

"The man who killed me was called Bakuto. A worthy opponent for my final battle."

"In retrospect, am I a ninja? And hundreds of other things?"

"Yes. In one of your past lives, you were one of the greatest practitioners of your craft ever to exist."

"I do not know how to feel about that. Now for the million-dollar question: what are you doing here?"

"I have come to help you recover your memories."

"And how do we do that?"

"Well... it is somewhat complicated. Over time, the lives that were not significant were absorbed by some of us."

"Wait, what?"

"Imagine that in one of your lives, you were an incredibly talented chef. When you were reborn, followed the same path, and died prematurely, everything from that life—your knowledge and experience—merged with your previous life as a talented chef. The same thing happened to me. At one point, you were a promising ninja, but you died, and that incomplete life was absorbed."

"So, if I had died and, in another life, became a scientist again but died at a younger age, my more developed self would absorb that incomplete version because it held greater mastery in that field?"

"Yes. It is complicated and difficult to understand, but you get used to it over time."

"Sigh. How are we going to recover my past memories?"

"Well, it is known from personal experience that when you die, your entire life flashes before your eyes. What we would have to do is prolong your perception of time, allowing us to restore or reorganize all that knowledge."

"Wait a minute. You want me to almost die just to rebuild everything from scratch?"

"It is the easiest and fastest way."

"Well, I refuse. What is the success rate of this procedure?"

"Forty percent."

"I refuse. I am not leaving everything to chance, especially with my luck, for a forty percent success rate."

"Grr. I expected that. On to the difficult method, then."

"And what is that?"

"We will have to retrain your memory. We must combine the physical and the mental to develop new neural connections.

Memories are stored in every organ, every cell of your body. Regression requires a level of concentration that takes years to develop. With your help and the technology you possess, we may be able to create a shortcut. We will have to shake up your mind."

"How will we do that?"

"Well, you will take care of the latter, and I will take care of the former.

Meanwhile, I will ensure you experience more visions thanks to our strengthened link. It should now be possible. You will have to get used to the fact that anything can trigger them. From lifting a cup to moving a certain way, even the smallest action could awaken a vision. But for now..."

He smiled.

"You have to wake up."

As soon as he said that, a katana appeared in his hands, and with one swift motion, he drove it through Peter’s chest.

Peter’s eyes widened.
