Part 1 Epilogue
-???-
A many-tailed kitsune was sitting in a large chair in a sparsely decorated room, which rocked back and forth like a ship on stormy waters.
Looking outside either of the side windows, one would find a view that matched that description.
An endless sea of roiling blackness, studded with sparkles, stars, and all kinds of shapes and colors. It was known as the Sea of Chaos.
Floating amongst this ocean of infinite possibilities were strange, colorful orbs that were simultaneously the size of an entire planet and as small as an apple, while also being just about the size of a single-person bed.
Inside of these orbs were moving images, depicting pieces of the worlds contained within.
The kitsune looked out the window to his left and observed one of the worlds as it drifted by. Contained within was the picture of a boy with blue shorts, a red shirt, and a straw hat standing aboard a ship that was sailing across blue seas.
Smiling, the kitsune stood and stepped over to the glass pane, leaning forward to look out into the Sea of Chaos.
As time sped by, many orbs drifted past.
A small yellow robot sheltering a tiny plant amidst piles of trash.
A gleaming metal spacecraft shaped like a triangle that slowly moved through the stars.
A pair of adult dalmations surrounded by many puppies.
A pair of kids with colorful tentacle hair laughing as they walked through a bustling city.
A red-eyed vampire couple laughing as another of their kind played with a large wolf in the background.
A blonde-haired young man wielding a glowing blade as he looked up at a massive monstrosity with far too many limbs.
A pair of very short men chatting as they climbed a mountain, a shining ring in one’s pocket.
A black-haired boy with a red hat, walking with a yellow rodent at his heels.
A pair of strange buglike people wielding blades, one with a grey cloak and the other in red.
A bald man wearing a yellow suit and red cape punching some strange alien.
A young girl stepping into a simple closet and stepping out into a winter wonderland.
A sword-wielding man riding on the back of a massive blue-scaled dragon.
All of these contained infinite possibilities.
The kitsune smiled and stepped away from the window before walking over to his desk. He sat down and picked up the writing quill by his side.
A quick pulse of magic, and its tip was inked. Another, and a piece of parchment appeared on the desk.
From there, he wrote.
The words that were inked upon the page were fueled with a wild energy that shot through the air, spiraling out into the Sea around the ship.
The reason for this was simple.
The man was a Chaos Wielder.
Chaos wielders were the most powerful beings across universes. Some of the most accomplished ones had hundreds of them under their control. Others spent most of their time focusing on a few.
The kitsune was one of the latter. He held onto only two worlds, one of which he had begun to set free, under the watch of other gods. His second was the one he was actively working on, and it was what his written words were influencing.
The reason why he was drifting through the Sea of Chaos instead of at his own home was that he had been visiting a friend.
Another Chaos Wielder, who in her world was a species called a Fairy. She was actively working on a world, but wanted his input on the current happenings.
The kitsune’s trip has just finished, and he was on his way back.
Leaning back in his chair, he thought about how his friend’s world was progressing. The sheer variety of creatures and people she had created (with the help of that world’s Divine Pantheon) was quite remarkable.
Shaking his head, the man chuckled as he recalled the wild situation that had arisen out of a small item that his friend had made as a joke for her wife.
It was unprecedented for a God to be able to die, and for one’s authorities to change (although perhaps that was because of the death and rebirth).
After another long moment of silence, the man looked up, directly at me.
“You’re watching, aren’t you?” He asked. I simply grinned.
He sighed, but a smile was on his face. The ship stopped moving, and he stood from his seat.
“Well, I’ve returned,” He said. “I’ll see you sometime.”
With a snap of his fingers, he and his ship disappeared, revealing a simple house floating in the Sea of Chaos, all by itself.
It was only after he was gone that I decided to speak.
“How’ve you enjoyed this story?” I asked you.
