The S-Rank Magical Girls from My Favorite Yuri Want Me!?

Chapter 58: Noah Between Luna and Emma… It’s a Very Unexpected Trio.

When he saw his mother was about to come in, Noah jumped toward the door, but Luna was still clinging to him, so he had to drag her several steps and managed to grab the handle from the inside.

"Don’t open it!"

Emma stopped turning it.

"Why?"

Noah looked back and Luna was still pressed against his body.

She looked up.

"Will you accept?"

Noah clenched his teeth.

"We’ll talk later."

"I want to know right now."

"Noah!"

Emma called from outside.

"Yes!"

"What are you doing?"

"Nothing."

"Then open up."

Noah kept one hand on the door and tried to push Luna away with the other, but she tightened her embrace, so Noah spoke to her in a low voice.

"Luna, my mom is going to come in."

"I don’t care."

"I do!"

"I’ll take care of it."

"How?"

"I’ll tell her I’m your girlfriend."

Noah felt like he almost stopped breathing.

"You can’t tell her that!"

"Why?"

"Because Yume is also my girlfriend."

"Your mom doesn’t know that."

"That’s another problem."

Emma pushed the door gently and Noah had to lean some of his weight against it to keep it closed.

"Noah, you’re acting strange."

"I’m perfectly fine."

"That doesn’t sound like you’re fine."

Noah thought quickly.

"I’m just tired."

"Then let me in so I can see you."

"There’s no need."

Luna squeezed her hug a little tighter.

"Tomorrow at ten?"

Noah looked at her with desperation.

"Are you seriously setting the time right now?"

"I need to know."

"Noah!"

Emma insisted.

"Just a moment!"

Noah took a deep breath; he needed to get the situation under control.

First he had to calm his mother, then get Luna to leave, and only after that could he worry about the disaster he had just accepted as his daily life.

Noah pointed at Luna.

"Turn invisible."

"Answer first."

"I will."

"Now."

Noah closed his eyes.

"I can’t believe this..."

Emma turned the handle again, so Noah opened the door just a few inches and stuck only his head out.

Emma stood in front of him with a worried expression.

"Why don’t you want to open it?"

"Nothing’s wrong."

"You were talking."

"I was thinking out loud."

"And why are you holding the door?"

Noah tried to smile.

"Habit."

Emma frowned.

"That doesn’t make sense."

Inside the room, Luna tugged gently on Noah’s shirt, so he looked back and she moved her lips without making a sound.

"The date?"

Noah looked at Emma again.

"What did you want to ask me?"

"Dinner."

"Whatever you want."

"You already said that."

"Then it’s settled."

"Noah."

Emma crossed her arms.

"I want to know if you prefer pasta, chicken, or fish."

Luna tugged on his shirt again and Noah tried to remove her hand without Emma noticing.

"Uh, chicken...?"

"With rice or potatoes?"

"Potatoes."

Luna brought her face close to his ear.

"At ten?"

Noah tried to keep his head outside the door.

"Yes."

Emma blinked.

"Yes what?"

"Yes to the potatoes."

"I didn’t ask if you wanted potatoes, I asked if you prefer them baked or fried."

Noah felt like he was losing control.

"Baked."

Luna spoke in a low voice again.

"Will you pick me up or should we meet there?"

Noah turned his head slightly.

"Luna, please."

Emma’s eyes widened.

"Luna?"

Noah felt fear.

"I didn’t say Luna!"

"Yes you did."

"I said something."

"Something what?"

Noah stayed silent and Luna wrapped her arms around his waist again.

Emma tried to push the door, but Noah stopped it with his shoulder.

"Wait!"

Emma’s concern grew.

"Noah, I’m coming in."

"T-There’s no need."

"I’m going to count to three."

Noah looked back and Luna was watching him with complete calm.

"One."

Emma said, and Noah whispered.

"I accept."

Luna didn’t react.

"Two."

"I accept the date!"

Luna’s expression softened.

"At ten?"

"Yes!"

"At the station?"

"Yes!"

"Good."

Luna activated her ability and her body disappeared from view.

Noah felt her let go, so he ran to the window and opened it without making a sound.

Emma finally finished counting.

"Three."

Noah opened the door completely, and Emma walked in and looked around the room while Noah stayed by the door, breathing faster than normal.

Emma observed the bed, the chair, the desk, the open window, and then looked at Noah.

"Why did you open the window?"

"I was hot."

"It’s a cold night."

"Really hot."

Emma walked to the window and looked outside, but she didn’t see anyone.

Luna must have already moved away using her ability.

Emma closed the window.

"Is there something you want to tell me?"

"No."

"Are you sure?"

"I’m a man."

Emma stared at him and Noah closed his eyes for a second.

"I meant... I’m sure."

Emma sighed, approached, and placed a hand on his forehead.

"You don’t have a fever."

"I told you I’m fine."

"You were acting like you were hiding something."

Noah avoided looking at her directly.

"I wasn’t hiding anything."

Emma scanned the room again and found nothing strange, so her expression relaxed.

"All right."

Noah let out a slow breath, but Emma pointed at him.

"But don’t act like that again."

"Okay."

"If you don’t want to eat something, just say so."

"I’ll eat whatever you make."

"Then I’ll make chicken with baked potatoes."

"Perfect."

Emma walked toward the door and, before leaving, turned around.

"And don’t talk to yourself like that, because it worries me."

Noah nodded.

"It won’t happen again."

Emma left and closed the door.

Noah waited several seconds, listening to her footsteps move away down the hallway, and when he could no longer hear them, he locked the door.

Then he leaned his back against it, slid down until he was sitting on the floor, and covered his face with both hands. He had been seconds away from Emma finding Luna hugging him.

Noah imagined the questions, Ava’s reaction, the possibility that Yume would find out, and having to explain why a girl had been in his room.

"I can’t keep living like this."

His phone vibrated, so he took it out of his pocket and saw it was a message from Luna.

[Tomorrow at ten at the station.]

A second message appeared.

[I’m glad you accepted.]

Then a third.

[Next time I’ll close the door with a barrier.]

Noah looked at the text, opened the keyboard, and typed a reply.

[I’ll make sure there isn’t a next time.]

He stared at the message, but before sending it, another one from Luna appeared.

[You can also tell me in advance when you’re alone.]

Noah deleted what he had written, set the phone on the floor, and rested his head against the door.

’I should have let Nozomi hand me over to the Great Mother.’

The thought lasted two seconds, but he immediately remembered the marriage certificate and the room with no exit.

’No, that would have been worse.’

His phone vibrated again.

[Good night, my boyfriend.]

Noah felt his face heat up, but he picked up the phone and replied.

[Good night.]

Then he added.

[And don’t come in again without warning.]

Luna answered almost immediately.

[I’ll try.]

Noah let his head fall back. That wasn’t the answer he wanted, but after surviving the conversation with Emma, he no longer had the energy to argue.

Tomorrow he would have a secret date with Luna, but Noah was sure of only one thing.

He had almost had a huge problem, and the secret relationship had only just begun.
