Chapter 8: May I make a request? However, please, Tia
"While the death penalty is still an accepted punishment in each of the races, for serious or violent crimes, especially crimes against the Genesis Article, I must remind you of a couple of things." Tia suddenly said, gaining the attention of both young women.
"First, any form of punishment must not damage Atlantia in any serious way," Tia began. "Second, though you will of course inform the leader of the human race regarding this matter, I warn you that should this matter be leaked to Dawnscape City before I have spoken to John Michaels and concluded my investigation, the human race will suffer far worse than just losing Stone-mist Castle."
As Tia finished speaking, Sarah and Adria both gulped nervously before Adria said, "Understood, Tia. I will be sure that only my mother is present when I inform her of this, and I will pass on your warning to her."
"That would be best," Tia replied.
"May I make a request? However, please, Tia," Rose suddenly asked.
Tia looked at her before responding, "You may, though I may refuse depending on the request."
"I request that my mother, the Empress and I be allowed to monitor your meeting with John Michaels."
"You mean you won't invite your father?" Sarah asked with a smirk.
"That waste of space? Never, all he does all day, both in Genesis and reality, is eat, drink, fuck women and sleep." Adria answered angrily before continuing. "He has never done anything for the human race and if he was not serving a purpose, I would ask Mother to get rid of him because he is a stain on our race."
"Why do you wish to observe?" Tia asked, though she already knew the answer.
"We would like to hear the firsthand account of what John Michaels has endured and also be able to offer our apologies to him for failing to support one of our citizens," Adria replied.
Tia nodded, "As expected, very well. I will allow the two of you to monitor. I will open a special isolated space within Genesis and transport the two of you there just prior to meeting John Michaels.
Also, I would add that while in this space, all external communication will be cut off until the end of my discussions to prevent any of you from leaking information before I am satisfied. If you and your mother agree to this, I would have you both log in within the next hour."
"Very well, thank you for your consideration, Tia," Adria replied.

Inside a fabulous palace that sat on a cliff overlooking Eclipse City, the large, sprawling capital city of the human race, Adria stood up from the chair she had been sitting in and quickly straightened out the dress she was wearing before quickly exiting her bedroom and approaching the maid who stood just outside the door.
The maid curtsied while asking, "Princess, how may I assist you?"
"Roberta, where is my mother?" Adria asked.
Roberta, who had long black hair with hazel brown eyes, replied, "I believe at this time she is probably in her study working.”
"Very well," Adria said before setting off in the direction of her mother's study at a rapid pace.
Roberta followed behind her, wondering what could be so urgent since Adria never normally walked at such a pace.
A few minutes later, they arrived outside the Empress's study, where Adria knocked and entered without waiting for a reply. As she did, she saw her mother, Empress Alexia Bristle, sitting behind a desk going through paperwork with her personal maid and assistant, Maria, beside her.

The empress, like her daughter, had long red hair, with piercing blue eyes making her look like an older, more mature version of Sarah.
Maria, on the other hand, had long black hair, sharp brown eyes, along with a pair of glasses she wore at the bridge of her nose. This always confused people the first time they laid eyes on her, since with today's medical technology and healing magic, poor eyesight was something that was practically nonexistent.
Looking up with a frown to see who would dare enter without waiting for permission, Alexia saw her daughter, who had a worried look on her face and panic in her eyes. The scolding she was about to give fizzled out and was replaced with a confused question when she saw the look on her daughter's beautiful face.
"Adria, what's wrong? Why have you come charging into my room?"
"Mother, we have a problem. Maria, Roberta, please leave us." Alexia said before turning to the two maids.
Roberta nodded and left while Maria looked to Alexia before doing the same after receiving a nod from her.
After the door was closed, Alexia asked. "Tell me, daughter, what could be so serious that you had our trusted maids leave the room?"
"The human race is about to face punishment from Tia," Adria replied. “We’re about to lose Stone-mist Castle.”
"Tell me everything," Alexia said, her voice and face turned serious.
A few minutes later, the two maids waiting patiently outside the room were shocked to hear the empress yell.
"THOSE FUCKING IDIOTS!"

In a large forest within the Essnoris continent, there was a huge city built into the forest as if one with nature. The city looked remarkably similar to how Thamethalas looked in Genesis because it was the capital city of the elves in the real world called Asyath Serin.
Inside the royal palace of the elves, a female elf was sitting behind her desk reading some documents and speaking with her advisor when there was a knock on the door.
Looking up, the female elf said, "Enter."
After which Alea entered the room before greeting, "Mother."
The female elf behind the desk was, of course, Queen Tanelia Keagwyn. She had silver-white hair like her daughter Alea, but her eyes were sharp green.
"Ah, my daughter, what brings you here at this time? I thought you were meeting your friend Sarah Lapis in Genesis?" Tanelia asked
"I did meet with her mother, but something rather unexpected came up. Alea replied. “Tia appeared during our meeting and suddenly issued a quest to Sarah.”
“That’s not so unusual,” Tanelia replied. “I’m fairly certain you’ve mentioned that Sarah has received quests from Tia before.”
“You're not wrong,” Alea replied. “But there was something different about this one. Sarah almost seemed panicked.”

It was late evening, and the sun was so low that it was being hidden by the many skyscrapers of Dawnscape City when Sarah quickly disembarked from the elevator in John’s apartment complex. She was in such a hurry that she didn’t even wait for the elevator doors to fully open while a man who appeared to be her assistant quickly followed behind her with a look of disgust he tried and failed to hide.
After using Dawnscape City’s surveillance system, Tia had sent the location of John’s apartment to Sarah’s access band and after approaching the door, she quickly knocked on it.
However, after waiting several seconds, no sound came from the other side of the door, and so Sarah knocked again.
“Are we sure he’s in there?” Sarah asked after getting no response once again.
“Surveillance footage of the apartment complex shows John Michaels entering the building and climbing the stairs,” Tia replied through Sarah’s access band.
“You don’t have footage of him entering his apartment?” Sarah asked as she looked at the security camera that was above the elevator she had just disembarked.
“The surveillance cameras of this floor do not appear to be operational,” Tia replied.
Sarah frowned before asking, “But that’s just basic level security for tenants; why are they non-operational?”
“Most likely as a form of cost-saving measure by the landlord,” Tia replied.
“You mean this isn’t government-provided lodging?” Sarah asked.
“Negative, there is no evidence of the Dawnscape City council providing government lodging to John Michaels,” Tia replied.
"Who would live in such a shit hole?" Sarah’s assistant asked before he walked up to the apartment door and began banging on it.
Sarah turned to frown at her assistant, who quickly shrank back just as the pair heard the door open and a voice ask, "That would be me. Do you have a problem with my home?"
Upon hearing the voice, Sarah’s head quickly turned back to the apartment door, where she found a young man with long dark hair that covered most of his face, wearing old, well-used clothes, looking through the small gap he had opened.
"Are you John Michaels?" Sarah asked politely.
"That depends on who you are and why you're asking," John replied cautiously.
"Show some respect, boy? Don't you know who this is?” The man accompanying Sarah asked with contempt. “She is one of the human race's most famous individuals."
"No, I don't know; that's why I asked,” John replied while looking at the man as if he were an idiot. “Now, if you don’t have anything important to discuss, I have something planned early in the morning."
And as soon as he finished speaking, he shut the door in their faces.
