Ch. 34 – After the Duel ♥
This sucks.
I’m on the floor in my room, staring up at the ceiling, just waiting. Waiting for Mae to get back from the Headmistress’s office, waiting for Alyx to wriggle free of Vila’s clutches, waiting for things to be okay again.
I just got her back!
Revenge. Funny thing. Dad taught me if you let a slight pass unanswered then everyone will think they can just take whatever they want from you. But I trusted Mae, trusted her way of doing things, trusted that that was the end of it with Syrene.
I love her, but she was wrong.
Syrene, Vila, and, fuck, even Indel. If they think they can get away with this…
Do you think she was telling the truth? Did Alyx really fuck Nym again? That’d be damn irresponsible, wouldn’t it?
Yeah, it would. It also doesn’t matter. Doesn’t matter even a little bit. This was too far. Seeing her burned up like that…
A knock at the door frees me from my rumination. Oracle goes absolutely fucking ballistic, snapping her jaws at the door, growling, barking. It better not be Syrene. “To me, girl.”
I scratch the back of her fluffy neck to calm her down — she’ll miss Alyx just as much as I do; whenever she’s in here she keeps Oracle well stocked with bones and salmon. She’s really good with her, actually.
You better stop. You have a door to answer, and you don’t want to be sobbing when you do.
Leaving the slightly calmed Oracle curled up by the bed, I finally answer the insistent knocking. Before me are elegant white feathers and a slender, muscled body. Indel.
“My love,” she begins, but I grab her shoulders and drag her into the room, shove her against the wall. She moans, entirely misreading the situation.
“Don’t call me that,” I hiss. “You made that muzzle for her, didn’t you? That’s the enchantment you were working on.”
“N-no, my dear, n-”
I rack her against the wall, harder than I mean to, draw a hiss of pain that doesn’t quite alarm me as it should — as it would’ve, just a few hours ago, when Indel was on my good side, despite everything. “Don’t! You think things are normal between us? After that?”
“I came here to apologise.” Her voice is strained, quiet, and it shocks me out of my rage. “I- I knew the plan. All of it. I- I made modifications for her, adjusted the enchantment on the artifact she brought me. But- but, my l- I’m sorry. When I saw how distressed you were, dear Hattie, I knew I had made a mistake. A dreadful mistake. I was swept up in it all, in my jealousy, in my burning desire for you — I belong to you, my love, and I am sorry again, for I have once more said what you wish me to never utter again, but I could no sooner stop loving you than a bee could abandon its hive, or a soldier his post. I love you, and I wanted you to myself, but- but I could not bear to see you like that. I did not know, my love, the depths of your feelings for her. I- Please, please, say anything, my dear, anything but silence, please, I beg your forgiveness.”
That’s a lot, but I can deal with it later. I can deal with all of it later. Only one thing matters right now. “Can you get the muzzle off?”
“The mouse, she made her own modifications after I returned it to her. I already tried, when we stood at the field, to dispel my own enchantments, but — well, I do not understand it. Something prevented me. Something within myself.”
Her sincerity is the one thing I can’t doubt, which means one theory sits at top of mind. “Were you ever alone with Syrene? With your guard down?”
Thought plays against Indel’s regal face, culminating in wide eyes and an open beak. “Y,yes, my love, there was… The wretched Guardian insulted you, and I could not stand to hear such vile slanders of my beloved. I would have struck her down had the mouse not rendered us both unconscious.”
“Indel; take your uniform off and lie down on the bed.” It’s hard to ignore her suddenly hopeful face; it’s hard to ignore how eagerly and obediently she does it, how quickly she’s down to nothing. It’s even harder to ignore her heavy breaths as I comb my fingers through her feathers. All the rage and energy within me focuses on a single point — how small her body seems compared to my hands, how nice it feels to touch her.
As I run over the small of her back, my finger brushes over something jagged. At my touch, the tiny purple gemstone embedded in Indel’s strange avian skin activates, forming a misty projection next to me… her. Oracle’s back to growling.
“Hi, Hattie,” Syrene says, in a voice I’ve never heard before. It must be hers. It’s strangely close to Indel’s, and the rest of the Endarias from the Banquet — it has the same sneering, regal quality. If we were friends I might give a fuck about why she can embed it in the gem but can’t use it herself, but we’re not friends, so who cares? “Do you like my puppet?”
“Fuck you.”
“Oh, wow. And here I thought we were friends.”
“Don’t worry,” I say to Indel, “when Mae’s back, I can rip this out of you — she’ll heal the wound.”
“Oof, I wouldn’t, if I were you.”
“I’m not talking to you.”
The projection rolls its eyes. “Well, take my advice or don’t. Just don’t blame me when you kill her.”
“Bullshit. You wouldn’t do that. It’s too far, even for you.”
“Perhaps. Perhaps not. You really wanna risk it?”
Indel’s eyes are so strangely expressive in that moment — she’s willing to do it, to trust me, but even then she can’t hide her fear. I put my hand on her chest and some of it melts away. Okay. So you can’t risk it.
“Why would you do this?” I sit on the bed with Indel, defeated.
“I didn’t do anything; I’m just an echo of the woman who did. But she did it because of this.” She holds her palm facing up and an image sprouts from it — Alyx, viewed through Nym’s eyes (I can tell by her copper skinned hands on Alyx’s shoulders).
“You own me, baby,” Nym says, kissing Alyx. “I don’t want anybody but you.” Those words loop and loop and loop until I finally wave my hand at the projection,
“I get the point.”
“The rules were pretty fucking clear, if you don’t mind me saying. Of course she didn’t put any of her love in me, so why do I care who Nym fucks? Still, from an objective standpoint, pretty stupid thing to do.”
Yeah, yeah, I can’t believe she’d do it either. And I’ll talk to her about it once she’s free, because fuck, we cannot have this happening again. But, for now, it doesn’t matter. None of it matters until Alyx is back in my arms.
“So. What do you do?”
The projection shrugs. “I just keep an eye on things, really. Make sure the Princess doesn’t renege on the deal. Coming here is already right up to the line but I figured, hey, I might get to see you two fuck, so I allowed it.”
“No. Not happening.”
“What a shame. Might’ve been persuaded to help you.”
Indel finally speaks. “My love. It might be worth the attempt.”
“Even if she promised, what’s a promise from her worth?”
A chair appears, in the same misty purple, and holo-Syrene sits, crosses her legs. “Wanna see something cool?”
“No-”
She snaps her fingers and everything changes. Indel wraps her arms around me, digs her claws into my shoulders so deep blood cascades down my back. I hiss in pain as she pulls me against her, positions her thighs between my leg and grinds. “My love my love my love! I- I’m sorry, I- I need you, so badly, so badly, my body is burning with desire, I need, I need you, only you, please, please, my love, please, take me here, I- I- I cannot stand to feel this, fill me, please!”
Her magic flows into me; the cock strains against my panties, already hard. “Indel, control-”
“NO! PLEASE!”
If the wet spot against my stockings is any indication, she’s already soaked. “And that’s about half as horny as I can make her,” the unhelpful projection adds. “Come on. She wants it. I wanna watch — gets boring, cooped up in her. And I’ll help you.”
Focusing on Syrene was a mistake. Indel already has my stockings down to me knees, my underwear with them. Her head, on her long, flexuous neck, disappears under my skirt; her tongue wraps around my length and sends a shiver of pleasure through my body. All the while she keeps insistently grinding against my thigh, and it gets harder and harder to focus on my outrage.
It’ll be a nice release, at least. A way to have power again. Control. Indel’s always been good at giving you control.
“Indel,” I groan, hand on the back of her head, ready to stop her and just not finding the will. It’s okay. You need this, frankly — Vila kept you stuck in the Compound for weeks, and there’s so much pent up energy you haven’t even gotten close to releasing. “You- you shouldn’t.” But Oracle’s calm, now, and it’s hard to argue with that.
She doesn’t reply, just doubles her efforts, and I crest forward, hands on her shoulders, and thrust into her mouth. “That’s more like it,” the projection says, snacking on a bowl of roasted sunflower seeds. It snaps me back to reality, for a moment, before Indel’s moving again.
“Indel,” I grunt, “we-” My hips move on their own, my fingers dig in on their own, and the primal part of my brain locks the logical, rational part in a cage — it just can’t resist the chance to fuck a Princess’s throat.
“Never imagined you’d be so selfish,” Syrene says.
“Shut up.”
This isn’t right. She only wants it because of whatever the hell Syrene’s stuck in her.
Oh, come on, like she hasn’t been begging for it every time she sees you.
Still, she- I shouldn’t. I’m not sure how I feel about her anymore, after she-
Fuck, her throat’s tight, isn’t it?
The orgasm’s building, battering at the gates. They’re about to cave in, so soon, because she’s just so good at this. She wants me, she needs me, needs me so bad that she’s willing to lie there, desperate to have me inside her, for the pleasure of being full, and still she’ll accept this, accept me using her throat like any other hole.
I hilt myself inside her and cum, whole body shaking and pure pleasure lancing up my spine. For that second, before the high wears off, everything’s okay, but as I pull myself off her and her head reemerges from under my skirt, beak covered in cum and spittle, my cock now just reminds me of Alyx.
“Okay,” I pant. “You said you’d help me.”
“Hattie… I just did. You’ve got a beautiful Princess who’ll let you do whatever you want to her. Let go of the deer; she’s Vila’s now.” With a mocking smile plastered on her face, the projection blinks out. I collapse onto the bed, once more staring up at the ceiling.
“My love,” Indel whispers. “I’ll help you anyway I can. Even if I cannot have you to myself, I still love you. Adore you.”
I put an arm around her, pull her onto my chest, and she hums like a happy cat. We both know there’s little she can do with the strange device stuck in her, but right now it’s enough that she cares. “Thank you,” I whisper.
