Chapter 38: A New Planet
"No, trust me... You will be better off avoiding that organisation. Hear this, apparently they—"
The pair sat around a dining table at a café, enjoying a lunch of tea and sandwiches.
Kalon had to admit it.
Outside of his time spent with Josinia, and his redemption at the Mock Battles, this was the best moment of his life.
He realised that this was the first time he had interacted with another human in such a way.
Now that Thea was beginning to open up to him, he saw that she was nothing like he had originally thought.
She could smile and laugh.
She liked to gossip, just like every other student.
She even got embarrassed and shy when talking about things that were personal to her, or whenever Kalon complimented her, which he did every now and then.
They weren’t overly direct compliments.
Mostly, he complimented her abilities, such as her water affinity.
She had explained that the affinity was the one thing she had inherited from her mother genetically.
For some reason, she seemed to blush when she mentioned that.
Kalon didn’t know why.

By the end of their lunch, Thea had pretty much convinced Kalon not to accept any of the sponsorship offers he had received so far.
He was better off waiting until his next sanctioned battle, which was the National Duos Tournament taking place at the end of the term.
This was a tournament held between two schools: The Academy of Systems and The Awakened School.
Fighters would compete in pairs.
At first, Kalon wondered why she was even mentioning such a tournament to him.
After all, it was reserved for only the top students.
Then he realised...
He was one of those top students now.

By the end of lunch, the pair had both followed each other on social media, officially becoming friends.
It had just been a casual lunch.
It only lasted a few hours, and they hadn’t touched on anything too serious.
However, on the way home, Kalon found himself smiling widely to himself.
Thea Bluegale was a kind woman.
Of that, he was certain.
He was thankful that they had established a friendship, and he wondered if, someday, they might be able to take it further.

Kalon spent the rest of the day simply waiting for nightfall.
Once the sun had set, he made his way over to the dormitory rooftop.
It was time for the big moment.
He would finally get to see what had changed with the Space Seducer System now that he had reached Silver Rank.
Kalon lay on his back atop the cold rooftop and looked up at space.
As always, he could only see the closest planet to Earth.
But when he focused on space itself, the system spoke.

There it was...
Not only had his daily travel allowance increased to an entire day, but he was now able to travel to two different planets every day.
This was perfect.
After all, a new planet had fallen within his reach.

This was a planet that Kalon was familiar with, but only barely.
It was the second-closest planet to Earth.
One that, of course, humanity knew almost nothing about.
He had never seen it himself.
However, scientists had once observed it through telescopes.
That was, of course, before humanity stopped caring about whatever lay beyond the impenetrable dome surrounding Earth.

It’s a few sub-ranks more dangerous than Venduros, but nothing too crazy.
The temperature could be a problem though.
As he had the thought, the Space Seducer System spoke to him.

After hearing that, Kalon focused on the options once again.
Governor Qyra is likely the ruler of the entire planet.
Summoning near her would probably be dangerous. She’d likely see me as some kind of alien threat.
Headmaster Runa seems to run some sort of institution. Perhaps even an academy? That doesn’t seem like the best choice either.
Sifa... Just Sifa.
She was the only woman whose name wasn’t preceded by a title.
Of course, he could choose one of the other seducible women on the planet.
However, Kalon felt strangely confident about that last choice.

Kalon opened his eyes to find himself standing in a field of frozen grass.
His body was extremely cold.
Despite having adapted to the temperature, he could still feel the icy breeze against his skin.
"By the gods..."
Kalon turned towards the elegant female voice.
The moment his eyes met its owner...
His jaw dropped.
Three girls stood before him, each looking to be around his age.
All three were made entirely of ice.
Not skin covered in frost, but bodies that looked as though they had been sculpted from crystal-clear ice itself.
They shimmered beneath the light of a distant sun, their flawless bodies resembling living sculptures.
They wore matching white academy uniforms, each with a short white cape draped over her shoulders.
Silver gems along the collars and sleeves marked them as students of the same prestigious academy.
The girl in the middle stood half a step ahead of the others.
She was the prettiest of the three, with long icy-blue hair that reached her waist and breasts that pulled her uniform shirt tightly across her chest.
DD-cup?
In one hand, she held a polished silver staff tipped with a glowing snowflake crystal.
Her lips slowly parted.

For several long seconds, she simply stared at Kalon.
Then her icy eyes actually sparkled.
"I... I actually did it."
She hugged the staff tightly against her bountiful chest, unable to contain her excitement.
"I summoned my first beast!"
