Chapter 50 Predators: Showdown
Showdown
“Go ahead and try.”The moment Sylvia muttered those words, Mikey noticed a smug grin curve out on her lips. That expression put a mockery on his threat, evidently taunting him in front of his face.
Is she challenging me? She’s not just a bitch, but a fucking nutcase.
“What are you not afraid, darling?” He questioned.
At the same time, he tried to suppress the growing anger in his chest as his hand clenched into a fist, staring back into her green irises. Slowly, her grin widened as if she immediately sensed the feeling deep inside him, hiding behind his eyes.
Then, she uttered a word so low that it didn't register within his earshot.
But he carefully read it from her lips.
Pa-the-tic.
Veins began forming on his forehead as he furrowed his brows and gritted his teeth. Although he did his best to appear calm and composed, that word pulled the last straw of his patience.
“You bitch—!”
His fist raised in the air, swinging his arm back as he stepped forward before stretching his arms, aiming it squarely at her face.
He had lost it.
Sylvia didn’t budge.
She sat there confidently with her legs crossed in her seat, still wearing that signature smile, while her green irises gleamed in the shadows, mocking him.
How frickin’ cocky…
Wait, once this punch hit you on the face.
In a matter of seconds, his fist would hit her face. He was close enough to reach her within a short distance, but not enough time for her to escape.
Still, she didn’t flinch.
She waited.
“BRO! WATCH OUT!”
Flipper yelled at him from behind.
Tap.
Tap.
Tap-tap.
Footsteps came rushing, tapping the cobbled path in rapid succession.
The scene happened so fast in Mikey’s sight.
His arm flung up in the air as he felt something strike him underneath his elbow so quickly that the pain had not fully registered in his mind, leaving a dull throbbing sensation in the location.
His eyes widened, caught by surprise at the sheer force of her kick, which caused him to stumble back on the ground, struggling to balance on his feet.
Then, he glanced up, seeing a tall figure standing before him with her leg still held up in mid-air after just kicking his punch away from hitting Sylvia.
“How did you—?!” Mikey gasped.
The slit on the side of her skirt fluttered in the light breeze, revealing thigh-high stockings fastened by an intricately laced garter belt. She lowered her leg to the ground but kept herself in a fighting stance— her hand clenched in a fist over her chest, her legs apart in a firm position.
“Don’t you dare lay a finger on her,” she glared at him.
Her voice was thick and husky as she warned him. It was Tanya Sandoval, the Untouchable, known for her menacing death stare and her signature high kicks. She was once a well-known member of the Academy’s Taekwondo team. But after her past involvement in joining Sylvia’s crew, she was unfortunately dismissed.
“Hey, bro. You good?” Flipper called him from behind, approaching him with a slap on his shoulder. “Dude, she just came out of nowhere!”
“Yeah, bro. Just unexpected things happening right now.”
He adjusted his cap, pushing it firmly in place before straightening himself up to look at them all together, trying to gain back his composure. A grin curved out of his lips as he snorted.
“So ladies… Got any more surprises to show?”
“And… where’s the bratty one?” Flipper added.
Tanya scoffed. “None of your business.”
“Oh, yeah? Bet she can’t do anything in a fight like Sylvia!” Flipper provoked them.
Tanya’s eyes flared as she growled. “HOW DARE YOU—”
A piercing cackle broke off their argument as their attention immediately turned towards Sylvia, who had been sitting comfortably on the bench, her hand clutching over her abdomen, while chuckling for a good half a minute.
“Ah… It’s been a while since I got a good laugh.” Sylvia expressed as she settled down, her fingers wiping the tears forming at the edges of her eyes.
“You think this is funny?” Mikey spoke up with a hint of irritation in his voice.
“Oh? Were you being serious all this time?” She continued to mock them before taking a whiff of the cigarette in between her fingers.
“Of course! We are being for real!”
Mikey’s brow furrowed. He was getting agitated once more, just as he had gotten his composure. To think that she treated everything happening right now as a joke had the veins in his forehead popping.
“Stop messing with me and get serious.”
“Alright then.” Sylvia sighed, puffing out the smoke from her lips before she turned towards Tanya, calling out her name.
“Tanya.” She beckoned, flicking her lashes towards them as she commanded.
” Finish them.”
From that moment, Mikey’s chest hammered hard inside him after hearing those words escape from her lips. His eyes darted towards Tanya, awaiting her move.
Instantly, she charged forward.
The gravel beneath her feet cracked in each step as she approached them like a charging bull.
“Get ready, Flipper.”
The man beside him nodded his head, tucking his phone back in his pocket before getting into position with his fist up.
“Two versus one. What are the odds?”
Mikey smirked. Flipper was right. They do have the upper hand.
In the next second, Tanya’s high-heeled stiletto shoe appeared before him, almost hitting him in the face. He stepped back, dodging it in the nick of time.
With her momentum still in the air, Flipper made his move, clenching his fist into a ball and throwing a punch to her side.
“Hah! Gotcha, bitch!” He excitedly exclaimed.
However, her body shifted, pivoting her foot on the ground as she turned towards him in a spinning kick.
It hit Flipper so hard on the head that it sent tremors all over his body, but his hand managed to block the impact, lightening the force as he dropped on his knees, dazed.
“Flipper!” Mikey called out.
While her back was turned away from him, Mikey retaliated in return, extending his limb out in front to kick. Still, Tanya predicted his move, swerving herself to the side as he felt a kick, hitting him squarely on the stomach.
Mikey stumbled on the ground, wincing in pain. “Argh. Fucking hell, that hurt!”
Right next to him, Flipper had recovered slightly from his daze, trying to stand back on his feet while wiping the blood from his wound on his arm.
“Shit! That kick got me as well! Never fought like this before!” He groaned.
“Is that all you got?”
“Heh, lady. We’re just getting started.” Mikey replied with a cocky smile, grunting as Flipper offered him a hand to help him get up off the ground. Then, he took a fighting stance, watching Tanya closely.
She started walking in circles like a lion prowling over her prey, looking directly into his eyes. He moved as well, together with Flipper, facing her direction.
“What now?” Flipper whispered beside him. “Got any plans?”
“It’s gonna be rough, but we need to attack her fast. Do anything you must to catch her off guard.”
“Ah, roger that.”
Tanya stopped in her tracks with her knees bent and arms raised over her chest as she beckoned them with confidence.
“Come.”
They launched an attack, taking the first move and rushing forward. This time, their movements were well coordinated, throwing successive punches from either side, surprising her with a kick from time to time.
But she navigated through them, dodging every attack like a seasoned fighter, not a single breath wasted from her movement.
She was untouchable.
As soon as one of them faltered, missing their rhythmic patterns, she fought back, turning the tide in her favor as they scrambled into a defensive stance.
Her strikes were relentless.
His limbs were sore, getting numb after taking a solid beating for over a minute. Despite outnumbering her, both of them were struggling to keep up.
He needed an opportunity.
His gaze watched her movement as she raised her leg high in the air before it came crashing down with force on her heel. Instinctively, he stretched up his arms to block it, causing her leg to get stuck in that position.
He felt the crushing weight as his legs trembled, slowly giving out.
“Flipper, do something!”
Meanwhile, his buddy, Flipper, was being slowly crushed by Tanya’s grip, holding his face down as he struggled.
“I-I am trying—” he grunted.
His hand reached into his pocket, pulling out his phone.
Snap!
The shutters of his camera clicked as he took a shot underneath her skirt. That caught Tanya’s attention as she veered her gaze towards Flipper with her face forming a scowl.
“How despicable.” She muttered.
The weight from her kick shifted as Mikey felt the burden lightened over his arms, lifting it and changing its course onto Flipper’s hand.
Crunch!
His phone was smashed into smithereens, crushed by the heel of her shoe.
Flipper gasped. “Not my fuckin’ AiPhone 17 Promax!”
Mikey’s eyes widened. All the evidence was stored in his device, but now, it was all gone, destroyed by her.
“FUCK!” He crashed out. “Dude! How about the recordings?!”
“Ah, shit!” Flipper cussed out, crying as he scrambled towards the broken pieces, picking them up to salvage what was left behind. “Fuck! My collection—”
“You’re going to pay for this!” Mikey roared. “I will fucking—”
He felt a sharp pain on the side of his head as Tanya successfully hit him on the side of his face, knocking him to the ground, as well as Flipper.
The fight ended with two men lying face-first on the ground after being defeated by Tanya, one against all odds. Adrian’s whimpers could be heard from the background as he cowered in fear, hiding behind the bench after seeing what Tanya had done.
“Finished them as you asked.” She reported, turning to Sylvia.
A slow clap ensued as Sylvia gave her a round of applause. She smiled delightfully at her. “Bravo! That was more entertaining than I thought.”
“Hmph. Not at all. Thought they were easy.”
“Good… I believe in you.” Sylvia praised her. “…and make sure you get rid of all the evidence.”
Tanya nodded affirmatively. “Understood.”
Sylvia watched comfortably from her seat as Tanya began checking their pockets one by one, confiscating any evidence that could be used against them.
Another set of footsteps came from the cobbled path, followed by a playful humming as Emma appeared, swinging her arms while holding a paper bag of dessert in one hand.
“Tanya-jie!” She called out, waving. “Why did you leave me there all of a sudden? Gosh. I had to use my savings to pay for these snacks.”
Tanya rolled her eyes. “Just handled a minor problem.”
Emma stopped in surprise, looking at the bodies of men still lying unconscious on the ground before turning towards Sylvia with a confused look on her face.
“W-what happened here, jiejie?”
Sylvia greeted her with a smile.
“Don’t worry, Emma. It’s all been taken care of.”
