Chapter 69: Training Dimension (4)
Gray used the remaining days of his Training Dimension cooldown to deploy his newly purchased Synth bodies directly into the Commonwealth. The poor and working-class residents had fully read the files he dropped from the sky, and they wasted no time taking matters into their own hands. A massive uprising swept through the sectors. The armored guards tried to intervene to protect the status quo, but they simply couldn’t hold back that many angry people. By the time the dust settled, all the rich, entitled elites had either been killed or dragged off to the cells, depending on the severity of their exposed crimes. Several guards whose names were listed in the corruption files were also tracked down and dealt with by the public.
Right now, the city was in absolute chaos. A few opportunistic factions within the uprising immediately tried to seize power for themselves, but the common people quickly shut them down. Gray monitored the entire situation from the sky. Thanks to JARVIS’s Synths and his own shadow clones utilizing the transformation jutsu, he began quietly taking control of the local infrastructure little by little to prevent the city from eating itself.
First, Gray patched into the central communication tower and made an announcement over the city-wide speakers. He openly told everyone that he was the mysterious individual who had dropped the files from the sky. He explained to the masses that he had witnessed the disgusting way they were being exploited, and told them that whenever anyone had previously tried to fight for better rights or fair treatment, the Governor and people in charge would simply make them disappear into the labor camps and lie to the public, claiming they had left the settlement on their own.
Gray then instructed the population to put their future to a fair vote. He announced that he would be placing ballots throughout the sectors so they could choose their new leaders. He told them to pick ten of their most trustworthy, honest people to form a new governing council, promising that his group would help them set up and stabilize the new system for the time being. A few cautious residents shouted questions up toward the speakers, which Gray answered as honestly and directly as he could to ease their anxieties.
By the time his Training Dimension was about to come back online, Gray had successfully distributed all the ballots across every sector of the Commonwealth. To ensure the transition went perfectly, Gray opened his system shop and purchased a major network upgrade for JARVIS, allowing the AI to flawlessly handle the massive influx of new Synths managing the city’s logistics.
JARVIS had also completed the safety inspections of the 650-mile underground railway system and officially gave the transit network the green light. While the subterranean trip between the Atlanta prison and the Virginia base was still a bit long, the battery-powered electric trains were so smooth and quiet that people could simply take comfortable naps in the passenger cars and wake up safely at their destination.
Standing back in his private quarters, Gray took a deep breath and dispelled all of his shadow clones, absorbing their collective memories. He stood alone in front of the spatial rift, entirely ready to step back into the void. His seven days were up. It was finally time to test out his brand-new Legendary Saiyan Limit Breaker against the galactic tyrant.
As soon as Gray spawned inside the Training Dimension, he went straight to work. He summoned the teacher from Planet Yardrat to keep learning Instant Transmission. He sent his usual ten shadow clones over to the master’s station to absorb the lessons.
With his setup ready, Gray warmed up his muscles and finally spawned Frieza.
Frieza instantly transformed into his sleek final form, and the two launched at each other. At first, Gray started getting the upper hand. He was faster thanks to his Kaioken x10, pushing the tyrant back. But soon enough, Frieza grew angry and went into his 50% power phase.
Now, the tables turned. Gray was being pushed back hard and took a heavy beating across the arena. But a moment later, his new Legendary Saiyan Limit Breaker started doing its thing.
Gray felt his raw power grow right in the middle of the fight. He started matching Frieza blow for blow. They traded heavy strikes for thirty straight minutes, shaking the empty void. Frieza lost his temper completely, screaming as he powered up into his 70% phase.
Gray’s limit breaker pushed his strength even further to match him. He was getting stronger and adapting to the new strength he was getting, but his body was adapting way slower than he kept pushing his limits. Because of this gap, he grew increasingly tired as the fight went on.
He finally figured out the big setback with his new power. Yes, he would grow stronger as the fight went on, but his stamina did not grow at the same speed. Broly could get stronger and fight for hours in the movie because his mutation gave him infinite energy, which let him unleash Ki blasts nonstop. Gray’s power had adapted, but his energy tank was still normal, causing him to burn out quickly.
Still, Gray was very happy. This meant he could keep getting stronger easily. The only thing he needed to do was train with his new strength, get used to it, and build up his stamina little by little.
Gray kept fighting Frieza to a standstill at 70% power for twenty more minutes. Frieza finally had enough and exploded into 100% of his full, muscular power. Even though he bulked up in size, Frieza kept his extreme speed. Gray took a few devastating punches to the ribs, and his limit breaker fired up again. Gray grew stronger, but he felt he was at his absolute limit.
He kept fighting anyway. He knew that Frieza at 100% power would grow weaker with time, so they were both running out of gas. It took less than ten minutes for both fighters to be on their very last legs.
They backed away and stared at each other. Gray was wobbling on his feet, barely conscious. Frieza was doing the exact same thing, until a second later, Frieza completely fell over on his face. The simulated villain vanished. Gray had beaten a 100% Namek Frieza using only his Kaioken x10, without ever turning Super Saiyan.
Before he could pass out from exhaustion, Gray quickly ate a Senzu Bean. He felt his body heal instantly and all his energy come back. Fixing his clothes, he sat down on the floor.
Gray decided not to spawn any more enemies for now. Instead, he chose to work entirely on his stamina. Thanks to the Kaioken x10 he had used in earlier fights, he knew his normal, relaxed state was only equal to about 10% of Frieza’s max power. Gray turned up the gravity to get his body used to his new power.
He pushed himself hard for days. Next, he tested the Frieza fight again, but this time he did not use the Kaioken at all. He wanted to be able to beat Frieza using nothing but his normal base power. He knew that if he could unlock the Super Saiyan transformation down the line, his power would jump by 50 times. So, the stronger his base form was, the stronger his Super Saiyan form would be.
Gray decided to test his raw power against Frieza without using the Kaioken this time, since he had already beaten the tyrant before while using the multiplier. He wanted to see how his base form held up on its own.
He spawned the tyrant, and they immediately began exchanging heavy blows. Frieza was in his final form, using around 10% of his maximum power, and they were perfectly equally matched. Neither one could get the upper hand. Frieza smirked and began increasing his power level little by little, but Gray kept adapting to it instantly thanks to his new Legendary Saiyan Limit Breaker. They continued fighting at that intense pace for about an hour. Gray could feel himself growing stronger and stronger the longer they fought, and he was actually having fun in the middle of the violence. He figured the enjoyment was due to his body changing more into that of a true Saiyan. But deep down, he promised himself he would never make the same mistake Goku and Vegeta made in the show. They constantly showed mercy to their enemies, only for those villains to come back later and cause more trouble.
Eventually, Frieza grew tired of the stalemate. He powered up directly into his 50% phase and took advantage. Gray was immediately pushed back, taking heavy hits, but he felt his body grow even stronger from the impacts.
He spent the next few days inside the dimension repeating this exact process. He would get beaten up by a stronger form of Frieza, only for his body to rapidly adapt and grow stronger alongside the tyrant. Finally, after a full week of non-stop fighting, he achieved his goal. It had taken a massive toll, but Gray successfully defeated a 100% full-powered Namek Frieza using nothing but his base form.
He had planned to leave The Walking Dead world behind once he was strong enough to beat Frieza, and now he had actually done it. Still, knowing he had essentially cheated the system by buying the legendary trait made him feel a certain way. It was probably his Saiyan pride talking, since he technically hadn’t worked hard to earn this level of strength. But then he remembered how Vegeta aggressively abused Zenkai boosts on Namek to achieve the exact same thing. If the Prince of all Saiyans could do it, Gray figured he might as well abuse the system too.
He popped a Senzu Bean into his mouth. His injuries healed instantly, and the resulting mini-Zenkai boost gave his baseline power another nice little increase. With Frieza conquered, he started thinking of ways to achieve the next major milestone...the Super Saiyan transformation.
But before he focused on that, he began laying out his exact plans for the moment he left the Training Dimension. He looked at the two massive bases he had already constructed across two different states, and a clear timeline formed in his mind. The moment he stepped back into the real world, he would create hundreds of shadow clones and scatter them across all the remaining states to build separate, automated safe zones. Once he accomplished that massive project and connected them all, he would finally trigger the system and leave this world behind.
He knew he could easily stay here for years and turn this into a completely safe, rebuilt world, but he was eager to see different universes. Now that he possessed enough raw strength to defend himself against almost every single fictional world he had ever watched on TV, he wanted to explore. Even if he ended up landing in another dangerous, apocalyptic world next, he was already strong enough to defeat a full-powered Frieza in his base form. He highly doubted he would struggle at all in the next universe.
Gray learned the Instant Transmission technique incredibly fast thanks to his Gogeta Talent and the shadow clones. With that complete, he opened up his system shop and went on a massive shopping spree. Since he had trillions of Gold at his fingertips, he decided to buy masters and opponents in mass. He wanted to unlock absolutely everything right now so his Training Dimension would have everyone available for the future, ensuring he wouldn’t have to wait or buy anything once he arrived in the next world.
He went down the Dragon Ball route first. He purchased every single master he could think of, all the way up to Whis. For enemies to train against, he bought all the Androids, every single one of Cell’s transformations, and Majin Buu. He also bought some of the movie villains he remembered, like Janemba, and all the major enemies from the Dragon Ball GT series. He didn’t forget to buy Pikkon either, since Goku had fought him to a standstill at the end of the Cell Saga.
Once he finished with the Dragon Balluniverse, Gray started buying masters from other worlds. He purchased legendary teachers like Zephyr from One Piece and Jiraiya from Naruto. He bought anyone who could teach him valuable skills just in case he ended up in a similar universe or unlocked different types of energy during his travels. It took him around three hours to finish his massive shopping spree, but he felt completely prepared for the future.
Since he still had a little over two weeks left inside the dimension, Gray chose not to spawn any more enemies. Instead, he dedicated all his time to working on his stamina. He wanted to be able to fight at full power for hours, or even days, so he kept pushing his body to the limit and upped the gravity settings whenever possible.
He also bought more computer terminals loaded with SCP-5094 to keep learning different subjects while inside the void. He had three shadow clones studying completely different things at the same time. Because Miss J’s lessons took different amounts of hours to complete, the clones finished at different times. This allowed Gray to dispel them one by one as they finished, avoiding the risk of exploding his brain from a massive, simultaneous information dump.
He had the clones learn different languages first. Since he already knew English and Japanese, he ordered them to master Chinese, Spanish, German, Russian, Hindi, Arabic, Portuguese, and French. By the end of the two weeks, Gray was fully multilingual. His clones under Garp also finished their training, giving Gray total mastery over all six Rokushiki powers. He still had no way to naturally unlock or use Haki yet, but he had fully memorized the exact ways to train the sub-abilities once he eventually gained the power, so he didn’t feel discouraged at all.
Finally, the 30-day timer for the Training Dimension came to an end. All of his remaining active shadow clones dispelled at once, and the pocket void fractured. Gray was instantly expelled from the dimension, blinking right back into the real world.
