Surviving as a Prince of Britannia

Side Story 3.1 : The Sisters’ Invitation

Author’s Note: This side story takes place after Side Story 2.9, Chapter 3 and before Side Story 3.2. It is told from Lysander’s point of view.

It was immediately after Charles’s speech had ended.

Caroline had left for Area 15, and I stood there in a daze.

Should I go back to Area 15 and spend time with her in the bedroom again...?

No, probably not.

Ever since the war ended, Bedivere had been handling not only the work of the 95th Rifle Knightmare Squad but also the duties of the Grand Marshal’s Office without a single complaint.

For important matters, the Knight of Six, Anya Alstreim—unlike in the original Code Geass, where Marianne merely hid within her memories, Queen Marianne had completely possessed Anya’s body after her death in this world, effectively making her my mother—would occasionally come by to review and approve them.

Sob

Thank you, Mother.

Squeeze

Suddenly, someone grabbed my arm.

It was Millirze.

She was my secret intelligence officer and secretary, Caroline’s successor.

“Your Highness?”

“Mm... you were Millirze, right?”

“Yes, Your Highness. I have summoned your private jet. I will escort you to the Duchy of Tenochtitlan.”

Sigh

“Right... I should go. Back to the hell of paperwork where Bedivere is waiting... no, to the Grand Marshal’s Office.”

Just as Millirze showed a look that was half confusion and half concern at the phrase “hell of paperwork”—

Tip-tap

Tip-tap

“It’s been a while, Elder Brother!”

A firecracker—no, the very embodiment of cheerfulness, the Flower of the Empire herself, Euphemia li Britannia, came toward me, waving brightly.

Wait.

Who was the long-haired woman beside her?

She seemed... rather intense.

“It is an honor to meet the Flower of the Empire, Your Highness.”

Millirze hurriedly offered her greetings.

Euphemia winked.

“Thank you.”

Then she turned to me.

“Elder Brother, this is perfect timing.”

Er... for what?

“There’s something we need to discuss regarding Sakuya, our niece whom you rescued during the conquest of Area 11.”

“Come with us to Elder Sister Cornelia’s residence!”

“Sakuya? Why bring up that child all of a sudden...?”

I looked at the woman beside Euphemia.

A familiar face.

But her hairstyle was... different.

“Wait... don’t tell me... this lady is Cornelia?”

At my words, Cornelia smiled faintly.

“It has been a while, Lysander.”

“Elder Sister, you surprised Elder Brother!”

Euphemia laughed brightly.

Cornelia’s hair was not in her usual style. Like Caroline’s, it fell long and straight, with only a light curl near the ends.

It gave her the impression of a knight—strong, yet feminine.

“I’ll speak to Bedivere myself, so Millirze, return to the Duchy of Tenochtitlan first.”

Millirze lightly bit her lip.

“Yes... Your Highness. Please take care.”

Once Millirze had turned away, Euphemia tugged on my arm.

“Let’s go, Elder Brother!”

In the distance, Guinevere was watching the scene.

Her expression twisted.

She seized Schneizel by the arm and pulled him away.

“Schneizel, we’re leaving too!”

Schneizel looked bewildered.

“Elder Sister, why so suddenly...?”

“Shut up! I don’t want to look at that!”

Watching Guinevere disappear, I let out a small laugh.

We arrived at Cornelia’s residence in the Imperial Capital of Pendragon.

Euphemia opened the door.

“Ta-da! Welcome to Elder Sister Cornelia’s residence!”

Cornelia approached me.

Her long hair swayed softly.

“The truth is... the matter with Sakuya was an excuse. Sit down, Lysander.”

I was taken aback.

“An excuse? Then why did you call me here?”

Euphemia locked the door.

Click

Hey... don’t tell me...

“Elder Brother... don’t you want to... do it with us?”

For a moment, my mind went blank.

...Seriously? What do you think I am, a stallion?

Even in a world where relationships between men and women were relatively free...

Straight to the bedroom without even dinner or wine?

And we were half-siblings, weren’t we?

At that moment, an idea struck me.

I did not particularly like using them as shields, but still...

“Um... leaving aside Elder Brother Clovis, since he is an art fanatic, Elder Brother Odysseus and Elder Brother Schneizel are still unmarried. If I go ahead of them first...”

But my excuse lasted only a moment.

Cornelia grabbed my shirt and pulled me close.

Grip

“So... are you saying I am not to your liking?”

No, that was cheating!

“Of course not, Elder Sister.”

“Good. Then that settles it. I knew you were a real man. From now on, you belong to us.”

Then Euphemia embraced me from behind.

“Elder Brother Lai... I love you.”

I could no longer resist.
