Greetings. Citizens of Rome.

I alone bear full responsibility for our present circumstances. Through my misjudgements, we have reached an unprecedented crisis, and far too great a sacrifice has already been demanded.

Accordingly, as Protector of the Unified Church and Autokrator of the Senatus Populusque Romanus, I hereby declare the unconditional surrender of the SPQR, effective immediately.

All units of the Army, Navy, Air Force, the Knightmare Corps, and all militias are ordered to stand down at once. I repeat: lay down your arms. Unit commanders are to surrender on behalf of their forces. The war is now over.

I further solemnly swear that, upon the conclusion of a peace treaty, I will abdicate in favour of my daughter, Crown Princess Lilly.

To Britannia: you have won. I ask that you observe the ceasefire, adhere to the forthcoming peace settlement, and cooperate fully in the humanitarian arrangements to follow.

Finally, I formally request the Chinese Federation to mediate the peace negotiations.
