Chapter 51: My Yandere Wife
Lucien walked towards the throne room. The guards who saw him wasted no time opening the massive doors, their voices echoing in unison as they greeted him.
"Good morning, Young Master."
Lucien returned the greeting with a casual wave of his hand. "Good morning."
He stepped inside. The moment his foot crossed the threshold, the entire chamber fell into a heavy silence. Every elder in the room turned, their gazes locking onto him like a storm of invisible daggers.
Lucien’s expression remained unchanged. This wasn’t the first time he had walked these halls under such scrutiny.
"Meeting dismissed."
Seraphina’s voice cut through the tension like a blade, clear, commanding, absolute. Lucien’s lips curled into a smile as his gaze found hers across the room.
The elders bowed low and filed out without a single word of protest, leaving the two of them alone in the vast, empty throne room.
Cupcake, who had been dozing in Lucien’s arms, suddenly perked up. The little volkoid squirmed, its golden-orange scales catching the light as it wriggled free from his grasp and bolted toward Seraphina. She let out a soft, genuine laugh as she caught the cub, her stern features melting into something warm and utterly tender.
"I thought you had forgotten about the academy," Seraphina chuckled, ruffling Cupcake’s fiery mane. The cub leaned into her touch, a low, happy purr rumbling from its tiny chest.
Lucien coughed, amusement flickering in his eyes. "How could I forget?"
He watched as Seraphina continued to pet Cupcake, a small snort escaping him. "I thought I was the only one you cared about?"
Seraphina paused, her fingers stilling for just a moment. Then she burst into laughter, her eyes sparkling as she looked at him, his sullen expression, his slightly pouted lips.
"Are you jealous?" She held a hand over her mouth, barely containing her amusement.
Lucien didn’t answer. His sullen expression remained fixed.
"Here, here," Seraphina said suddenly, reaching out and patting him on the head. The gesture was so unexpected that Lucien froze, instinctively pulling back as if burned.
"What are you doing?" he stammered, his face flushing a deep crimson.
"Patting your head," Seraphina giggled, her voice light and teasing. "Isn’t that what you want?"
"Humph, when did I say so?" Lucien objected, though the defiance in his voice wavered.
He didn’t know what was happening to him anymore. Nothing about their interactions matched what he had once imagined. He felt like a blank page before Seraphina, every gesture, every word from her sent his heart into a frantic rhythm. What was happening to him?
This wasn’t how he used to be. Even now, despite the peace and joy he felt, he couldn’t understand the changes taking root within him.
"Oh, you don’t want? What about you pat me then?" Seraphina brought her head forward, almost like a puppy waiting for affection.
Lucien paused, then burst into laughter. "You should know you’re not a dog. You’re a dragon."
"That doesn’t matter," Seraphina retorted, but as she spoke, something shifted. Her eyes darkened, her expression sharpening. A thick, obsessive aura bled from her, heavy and suffocating.
Lucien saw the change and shook his head, a resigned smile crossing his lips. He reached out and patted her head gently. Her expression softened instantly, her dark aura receding like a tide, replaced by a look of pure contentment.
If the elders could see their Empress like this, their jaws would have hit the floor.
Cupcake, still nestled in Seraphina’s arms, hopped excitedly. "Master... me too!"
Before the cub could finish its sentence, Lucien felt only the rush of wind. The Holy Fire Qilin had been sent flying across the room.
Lucien’s entire body stiffened. He could see the fury in Seraphina’s eyes, the raw, possessive anger that flared the moment Cupcake had spoken.
He glanced at the Holy Fire Qilin, now dazed and dizzy from the impact. Seraphina hadn’t struck hard, just enough to send a message.
A lesson.
Her gaze burned as she turned to him, her voice a low, commanding whisper. "You can only do that for me. No one else is permitted to be patted. No one."
Lucien looked into those obsessive eyes and let out a wry smile. He had forgotten, his wife was anything but ordinary. She was an obsessive wife.
He patted her head again, his voice soft and reassuring. "Don’t worry. I’m all yours."
Unlike before, he now knew how to calm and tame his obsessive wife.

After the small exchange, Lucien walked alongside Seraphina through the grand hallway, Cupcake cradled in her arms, not willingly, but forced.
"So when are we leaving for the Aethel Academy?" Lucien asked.
"It’s up to you. When you want to leave, that’s when we will leave," Seraphina chuckled, her earlier intensity fading into warmth.
"But first," she added, her eyes glinting with anticipation, "you have to put something in your tummy."
She grabbed his hand and dragged him toward the castle kitchen.
As they entered, the chefs and servants immediately straightened and bowed.
"Greetings, Young Miss."
"Greetings, Young Master."
Seraphina dismissed them with a wave. The staff filed out quickly, this wasn’t the first time this had happened.
Since tasting Lucien’s cooking, the castle’s food had become flavorless to Seraphina. Most of the time, she ate only what he prepared.
Even Cupcake’s eyes glowed with fiery anticipation as the cub licked its lips. It had been completely won over by Lucien’s cooking.
Feeling their excitement, Lucien smiled. "Okay, okay, what do you want to eat?"
Seraphina dropped Cupcake to the ground, holding her chin in thought. "Hmmm, what about cooking one of our past life foods? I’m craving for one."
"Oh, I have one in mind. You’re gonna love it," Lucien said, wearing an apron and gathering cooking utensils.
Seraphina licked her lips. "Then I anticipate it."
Lucien laughed, looking at his obsessive wife. As he looked at her, a thought dropped from nowhere, as if someone was whispering it.
"Obsession is a two-sided coin. One side builds thrones. The other burns them down. The choice is not whether to want, but whether you own the wanting or it owns you."
