Chapter 200 - 198: Kill Them All and Throw Them in the Sea
Although Yan Yichen and Yue Junxiao were both SS-level, their attackers were nearing the Peak of SS Level. On top of that, Yan Yichen and Yue Junxiao were caught completely off guard, so the assassins nearly succeeded.
Fortunately, Hu Yan and the others arrived quickly and tied them all up.
Yue Junxiao, who had been lightly injured, was still in the mood to joke as he looked at the bound men. "I’ve just realized we didn’t buy enough of these superpower-suppressing ropes. We need to buy more next time. If even a few more had shown up today, we would’ve run out."
He then squatted down next to the men. "Are all these guys here to kill you, Sang Mo?"
One of them had come to the Black Domain after Sang Mo’s "incident." Now that he was caught, he spoke viciously, "You caught us because we were outmatched. Kill us or torture us, do as you please."
Yue Junxiao heard him. "So tough, huh?"
He then looked at Sang Mo with amusement and teased, "These are all top-tier masters. That Hades guy must be pretty terrified of you to send so many. He was desperate to make sure you wouldn’t make it out alive. Doesn’t it make you feel honored that he fears you so much?"
Sang Mo merely shot them an indifferent glance before his gaze fell on Yue Junxiao. "You want it? This honor is all yours."
Yue Junxiao quickly waved his hands. "No thanks, I couldn’t handle it."
’Based on the few blows we just exchanged, they’re all stronger than me. I’d have a hard time with just one, let alone so many.’
Hu Yan asked Sang Mo, "What are you going to do with them?"
Sang Mo replied, "Kill them all and throw them in the sea."
Everyone: "..."
How simple and straightforward.
The two Beastmen who had entered the Black Domain during Sang Mo’s reign felt a surge of fear course through them as they heard his cold, flat words.
They all knew Sang Mo was ruthless and his moods were volatile, but this was the first time they had seen it firsthand. A pang of regret for even coming hit them.
’Hades paid well, but he never mentioned that not only was Sang Mo SSS-level, but the people with him were also incredibly powerful!!’
Otherwise, they wouldn’t have been captured so easily.
If they had known about their opponents’ strength beforehand, they never would have taken this job. No amount of money was worth walking into your own grave.
Unless, of course, you were so desperate for money you’d trade your life for it.
Hu Yan suggested, "I think instead of just killing them and throwing them in the sea, we could cripple their superpowers and dump them on Hades’ doorstep. That would probably scare him more."
Sang Mo considered this, thinking it was a good idea. He nodded. "We’ll do it your way."
「Half an hour later」
A knock sounded at Hades’s door.
The unhurried knocking instantly put everyone in the room on high alert.
Hades’s heart was in his throat. He was both nervous and excited. Seeing that no one dared to move, he commanded, "Go open the door! There are so many of us, and we have Diller, a powerhouse on the verge of becoming SSS-level, right here. Even if it’s Sang Mo, there’s nothing to fear!"
Emboldened by his words, one of the braver men quickly opened the door, though his hand trembled as he did.
For a few seconds, there was no reaction from outside. Then, someone faintly heard groans. Peering out, a man suddenly shouted in terror, "Quick, look! Isn’t that Blake?"
Hearing this, countless people rushed outside. Upon seeing the other figures lying on the ground, they all cried out in horror, "It’s not just Blake, it’s Kang Tai and the others too! Hurry, someone help carry them inside!"
Someone looked around and asked, "Aren’t Blake and his team Peak of SS Level masters? Why are they lying here like this?"
Hades faintly heard the muttering and commotion from outside and quickly ordered a subordinate, "Go see what’s happening out there."
The subordinate went out just in time to hear the discussion. "For so many masters to be reduced to this state all at once... It must have been Lord Sang Mo. I can’t believe he’s still this powerful after all these years."
The subordinate took a closer look. Five or six people were lying on the ground. He looked again and realized with a jolt that they were the very masters Hades had just sent to assassinate Sang Mo!!
They were all experts at SS-level and above!!
He knelt to check on them and found that their superpowers were gone. Their spirit seas had nearly collapsed.
’To have so many powerhouses’ superpowers crippled like this... it would take at least an SSS-level, no, maybe even someone beyond SSS-level to have this kind of power!!’
’Is Lord Sang Mo already beyond SSS-level?’
’No wonder he dared to return to the Black Domain so openly. It means he’s supremely confident in his own power.’
He counted them. ’Wait, one person is missing!!’
’To be missing at a time like this... it probably means they’re dead...’
’The ones lying here had their superpowers crippled, but at least they’re still alive. The missing one... is probably dead.’
At this thought, he stumbled back, running to report. He shouted as he ran, "M-My Lord! This is bad!!"
His voice echoed down the wide corridor, sounding particularly urgent and tense.
Hades frowned, a hint of displeasure in his voice. "What’s all the shouting for? Just calm down and tell me what happened."
The subordinate’s voice trembled as he rushed out the words, "Th-the men you sent to assassinate Sang Mo... their superpowers have all been crippled!! And one of them is unaccounted for!"
Hearing this, Hades’s reaction was even more explosive than his subordinate’s. His voice jumped an octave. "What did you say?!!"
His face was ashen. He clearly hadn’t expected such news, his expression a mask of shock and disbelief.
The subordinate quickly repeated himself, the fear and unease in his voice still unconcealable. "The masters you sent out... all of them... their powers were crippled..."
Hades heard him clearly this time, and panic set in.
’The men I sent were renowned masters in the Black Domain, and Sang Mo just crippled all of them at once. What does this mean?’
’It means Sang Mo is not just a little bit stronger than them—he’s leagues above them!!’
Hades’s earlier composure vanished, replaced by frantic anxiety.
